Do Catholics still support Trump

I know myself more than you know me, so I kindly ask that you stay in your lane  By the way, there are no “sides” in my opinion. You’re the one who wants to feel attacked so you can feel superior in some way. You’re no martyr

See my reply above for your other “point”

Voting for such a flawed candidate could only be defended because of how bad his opponent was. He had made some important decisions but he has also failed to do what his role requires in many ways. He has stood in the way of legitimately good ends and insulted people he needs to work with without reason. He has committed many serious offenses against the truth.

He should not have anyone’s unqualified support. He is the President, though, and it does no good to get in the way of whatever good he intends to do. Sometimes duty requires making the best of a bad situation.

That doesn’t make any sense. A Republican was the one questioning him;
My apologies, a similar article I read before in these threads mentioned a Democrat, nevertheless, the point still stands, since Lindsay Graham attacks Trump also. He may as well be a Trump hating abortion loving Democrat candidate.

The President attacks everybody. What party does that put him in? A de facto party of one?

Yes I support Trump, and I am very pleased at the job he has done so far.

I still support Trump now and was thrilled and delighted when he won on election night!

And Chuck Grassley?
I’ll have to look him up, but wherever there is an abortion loving candidate, 99.9% of the time they will be bashing Trump and his administration somewhere.

Those faithful Catholics who don’t support Trump will always start by mention the good things Trump and his administration support and have done, and then will mention a grievance they have. The silence with the former when it comes to those who bash Trump, tells me everything I need to know.

Thank you for reading

Yes, Trump has pro-abortion detractors, but he also has virulently anti-Catholic supporters. You cannot gauge a politician entirely by who likes or dislikes them.

I do not understand a single thing to like about a liar or a scam artist. To side with a wealthy man that if Jesus was back on earth he’d deny him entry. I don’t like him, and if you still support him after all hes lied about, I don’t understand. The only thing we can do is pray and hope he has a change of heart.

Strongly disagree… You can’t pigeonhole an entire group of people like that.

I was merely replying to your original post claiming that Trump would be looking for a pro-life SCOTUS justice. Gorsuch has never even publicly stated his views on abortion; I don’t think Trump is as pro-life as you think he is. He’s just going for whatever gets him the votes.

He named a better candidate to the Supreme Court than Mrs Clinton would have, and that will effect justice for a generation. He’s put a black eye on the conservative cause by other behaviors that accomplished nothing good.

Trump has pro-abortion supporters,
Who?
but he also has virulently anti-Catholic supporters
Nonsense. Some protestants maybe. Hardly a large block since he has Catholics in his administration and many Catholic supporters, even had a Catholic Cardinal at Trumps inauguration and Trump stood up for Catholics in his rallies when quoting WikiLeaks over Clinton and her campaigns words against Catholics and Evangelicals.

Thank you for reading.

So what? Why don’t we go back to Roosevelt? What’s that got to do with Trump? He didn’t inherit their deficits, he inherited Obama’s.

And you are comparing two eight year administrations against Obama’s one.

Furthermore, you are avoiding the much greater increase in the deficit, of which spending is only one component.

Were you this upset when Obama tried this best to screw us over by attacking the Church with the HHS contraceptive mandate?

Were you this heated when he said “God bless Planned Parenthood”?

Just wonderin’
I was 13 when Obama was first elected: for obvious reasons, I wasn’t paying as close attention (I never really liked him, though).

The argument is true. In an election, it’s only wins that counts, not who you voted for. To paraphrase William F. Buckley Jr. “The only intelligent vote is for the candidate who most represents your views who has a chance of winning.” Your vote was a waste of election volunteer’s time.

Never entirely, but you can gauge pols to some extent by who supports them and who opposes them, of course you can.

With Trump you’d be hard pressed to name a prominent abortion proponent who supports Trump.

And that is in his favor in my book.

(I never really liked him, though).
When someone does things like that against the Church and the most innocent, and Clinton who was even worse thanks to WikiLeaks, they get a bit more of a reaction from me then ‘I never really liked them’

Thank you for reading.
