THen you don’t agree with the Constitution. B/C it clearly gives gov the right to interfere in free markets.

Tell that to poor seniors, poor children, poor handicapped individuals, and poor people who are working, but are struggling to make ends meet.
Yes. Just look at what decades of one-party rule by the Democrats will do in urban areas.

But hey, at least they like cared on Facebook or something, right?

Um, no. The government can resolve disputes between the states. That’s pretty much it.

See the 10th Amendment.

Yeah, no. This is a typical liberal talking point which attempts to guilt or shame those who think otherwise into changing their moral position. Another plank in the progressive strategy to erode moral standards. Unfortunately, it has been an effective one.
It’s not a liberal talking point. It’s something I’ve seen in my own life from “good Catholics.”

I never said abortion was right. The culture is not going to change overnight, and Trump won’t be the one to change it.
The culture won’t change an iota and Trump won’t even be permitted to try to change it if some have their say.

Luigi, I’ve missed you. We don’t always agree but it never ceases to be interesting 😁

Yeahp, then guys like us have to rush in to help.

Feed the poor, cloth the naked.

The attitude from some Trump supporters is so incredibly unChristian, its borderline anti-Christ.

If Pope Francis was on this forum, I’d bet every penny I have he’d be arguing on the side of Philomena and Grace.
In some cases true, but the anti-Trump folks are sometimes just as bad. Pope Francis is politically very liberal and had a public and rather untactful back and forth with Trump.

Those on this thread from both sides seemed to have left a little of their Catholic solidarity, manners and virtue at the door. Let’s have a little more charity here folks, and pray for Trump and pray for one another.

When the government has the means to do great deals of good, I’d say it’s cruel if they withheld from involvement.

Try Article 1 section 8. What’s it say about commerce? what’s it say about money?

We don’t have to wait for the government to fail. As a matter of fact, we shouldn’t be waiting for the government to fail, we should be doing it now so the government would not have a reason to be used this way. Perhaps Christians should be doing even more than we are now doing.

As can be seen on this forum, individual Catholics have varying feelings and thoughts on the matter.
Catholics among Christians have some of the highest rates of leaning left in America, despite the left’s involvement with abortion, homosexual unions, and 3rd wave feminism.

Catholicism allows for a wide range of political opinions.

You have a short memory.

Jesus was on trial. He trusted in his Father. His Father would provide for him.

That’s the lesson to learn.

I don’t like him and I pray that he would change.
The only thing that I support him for is his stance on abortion but that is about all that I agree with him on. He and other Republicans are not being a good leader in that they are not listening to their constituents. Trump signed a bill that allows ISP to sell your personal information, something that less than 10% of American agree to.
He campaigned on a message that he would not cut Medicare and Medicaid and not be raising taxes but now he is doing the opposite. You can argue that his party is doing these things but he is not being a great leader.
Also, he lies a lot, he gropes women (doesn’t even wait), he had three wives (seems normal but we are taught that divorce is bad). I wonder when is the last time he gone to church hmmmm.

I can’t support him.
