Do guardian angels get reassigned to another human when we die?

Yet we do know through the evidence of faith that guardian angels exist and how many can dance on the eye of a needle.
You’re mixing up eye of the needle (it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. Matthew 19:24) and the head of a pin. The eye of the needle is the hole that the thread goes through.

Of course you know the other part of that exchange:

When the disciples heard this they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:25

We believe that with God all things are possible. Even that atheists who come on Catholic message boards to mock the Catholic faith can see the light, renounce their benighted ways, and accept the One True Faith.

My understanding is that our guardian angels will be with us for eternity, unless we go to hell. They will be at our side in Purgatory, continuing to help us as they do here on earth, and with us in Heaven, praising God.

Millions of non-catholics have died before me and millions of non-catholics will die after me… And if we must have accepted christ before we died I guess we are all destined for hell…

I always thought the one true faith was Islam?

Lol again…
Have you attempted to make a study of Christian Gospels first, or did you just come on to kill a thread and display your ignorance?

We know through the Gospels that guardian angels exist given Matthew 18:10.

As for the number of angels who can dance on a pin, there is debate as to whether such a serious theological question ever existed: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_many_angels_can_stand_on_the_head_of_a_pin%3F

But I wouldn’t expect someone who comes on to a thread with winners like this:
Millions of non-catholics have died before me and millions of non-catholics will die after me… And if we must have accepted christ before we died I guess we are all destined for hell…

to contribute anything to the discussion.

Why not learn something about Catholicism before you try to mock it? These posts are laughable to knowledgeable Catholics - you’re not ridiculing our faith, you’re displaying your own ignorance.

Does the Bible reference guardian angels? How do we know that they exist?

Matthew 18:10

See that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I tell you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.

Acts of the Apostles 12:14-15

Recognizing Peter’s voice, in her joy she did not open the gate but ran in and told that Peter was standing at the gate. They said to her, “You are mad.” But she insisted that it was so. They said, “It is his angel!”

Psalm 34:7

The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.

Psalm 91:10-13

no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.

For he will give his angels charge of you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you dash your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder,
and the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

And finally, the Church infallibly teaches in the Catechism of the Catholic Church 336:

From its beginning until death human life is surrounded by their (angels) watchful care and intercession. Beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life. Already here on earth the Christian life shares by faith in the blessed company of angels and men united in God.

Just wondering.

Thanks.
We do not know for sure, but I think that an Angel stays with you for all eternity, unless you end up in eternal damnation. It’s not like there would be a shortage of Angels for the job…😃

Of course I know the biblical references to angles. Which does not make it any better.

And yes i do know about catholicism, seeing as i have had what is it i think the 3 sacraments so far, baptism, confession and communion… And i have read the bible in its entirety once, and here and there many times, not to mention going to church every week for 17 years will drill alot of it in for you. Thankfully now my mind is free (regardless of how confused it is), and I no longer have to hear how when 2 or more gather in jesus name… that was like THE used quote…

And am I wrong? Is Islam not the one true faith for about 1/3rd of the worlds population?

Oh and I am completely aware how hypocritical it is for me to flame the church for wasting time on bs proposals that can never be reaslied, like is there a limbo or not etc… When I waste my time on catholic forums…

U know i should quit and i will… I’m going to kick this dirty habit hopefully once and for all…

Angels are referenced by the Bible, and angels of specific people, yet I would not lightly allow the Church to decree a universal law.

I don’t think the Church is waiting for you to allow it to do anything.

Reality is objective. By decreeing that guardian angels exist, they do not come into existence.

My issue is: How does the Church know that they exist?

Your “issues” aside, Matthew 18:10 is quoted in the Catechism.

Ah, my apologies. I missed Matthew 18:10. 🙂
