I like this response, but to be honest, my thought is off thread…
I KNEW you were from Massachusetts!!!
Did you know I was from Massachusetts because of:

a. My aggressive, yet witty response.

b. Because it says I’m from Massachusetts on my profile.

c. Because you deduced from my signature that I cheer for the most awesome football team in all the land.

d. Because I’m wicked smaht.

e. All of the above.

For my education, when did the Catholic Church become known as the Catholic Church?
During the 4th century period of Constantine or the 16th century protestant reformation…Just joking around. 😃 Latter part of the 1st century. However, something tells me that you already knew that…🙂

No, actually I didn’t prior to asking, but someone confirmed your answer a few posts back. Thank you for the info. :thankyou:

No one caught where I was leading, but that might be just as well.

There are some folks from San Fran who would beg to differ about whose awesome.😃
Otherwise spoken like a true Patriots fan. On things Catholic I agree with you.
Bless you and Merry Christmas!

Yes, Jesus cares about the truth. Because the truth matters. He wasn’t just about “love each other and brush your teeth.” He cared about truth. And so do we.
Touche…

" ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." (Matthew 22:37-40 NIV)

My bad, I should have qualified my statement by saying a lot of evangelicals and most former catholics. my comment about former catholics stands. The most anti-catholic protestants
I’ve seen post hateful things have admitted to be former catholics.
It seems that whether a person is a former Catholic or a former Protestant, they want to be either the best of their new belief. Have a blessed Christmas.

I wanted to check in with everyone. How’s the unity idea coming along between siblings in Christ from different communities? Did we resolve the issues yet? :winter:

Yep, we are all one and united, under one roof. Just joking around brother. 😃

Yep. His Holiness Pope Benedict issued the “In Christo unitatem” Bull. All but the Fundamental “King James Only” groups signed this declaration. All denominations are now Rites withing the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

Is that King James 1611 bible believing only groups or later ones? Need to have the complete KJV written word…Of God.

:highprayer:

Church Unity will happen, but in a sense that Protestant and Anglican Christians will be given a home in the Catholic Church to express the Catholic elements and customary within the Churches they have come out of. Pope Benedict’s new program of ecumenism is working as demonstrated by the Anglican ordinariates. And I am almost positive that Lutheran and Reformed ordinariates will be created as well by the Holy Father among others. His Holiness’ new program of ecumenism and evangelization is clearly faithful to traditional Catholic missiology and the ecumenical teaching of Vatican II–a perfect balance.

👍👍:clapping:

Praise!!!

Bat, do you know that English Protestants chained KJV 1611 bibles in their churches? 😃

“Starting just one year after the huge 1611 pulpit-size King James Bibles were printed and chained to every church pulpit in England”

Source: king-james-version-bible.com/history.html
The Anglican Church’s King James Bible took decades to overcome the more popular Protestant Church’s Geneva Bible. One of the greatest ironies of history, is that many Protestant Christian churches today embrace the King James Bible exclusively as the “only” legitimate English language translation… yet it is not even a Protestant translation! It was printed to compete with the Protestant Geneva Bible.

Best line in the whole article. So much for “King James only!”😃

And if we are to remain respectful of everyone’s honest beliefs, whether or not we agree on anything, could we the capitalize Protestant, please?
