I hope Melanie didn’t mean regret. I travel 35 miles almost every Sunday to the Pittsburgh Latin Community Mass at St. Boniface. Weather or other circumstances occassionally prevent me from doing so. I believe the bread and wine are truly consecrated in the Novus Ordo Mass, however, the liturgy that surrounds it is incomparable to the Traditional Latin Liturgy. It is hard to participate in the protestant liturgy that surrounds the Consecration. I fell for the Vatican II says we have to do this and we have to change that for 40 years. Information available later on the computer and various books and the availability of the Documents from the council and a lot of prayers opened my eyes. I realized what I had lost. The real trancendence from earthly concerns and humbly and prayerfully placing myself in the presence of God. The supposed “Active Participation” of the Novus Ordo mass is truly more of a distraction.
