I can’t remember ever having an emotional release after confession. Maybe I’ll have a vague “I’m glad I went to confession” feeling, but that’s about it. It’s fine though. I’m happy to go.
We receive the consolation of the Holy Spirit when Father says the words of absolution over us - then we know that our mortal sins have been forgiven and we’ve been restored to a right relationship with God.
Yes, often. I feel overwhelmed at the goodness of God and His power to wipe away sin. I feel like the luckiest person alive to have access to this marvelous sacrament
Some of the answers surprise me! I’m not religious and just kind of assumed that most times…not always…there would be a feeling of emotional release. Learn something new every day!
For those that converted as adults or were away from the church for an extended period of time, did your first confession…or returning confession give you an emotional release?
