How sure are you that you are making the right judgement when you do judge?

See this post earlier in the thread in which I discussed this. But, for clarity, one place in Scripture is John 7:24.well ok…then i have 2 questions

The same way you do, mpjw! (Of course you make judgements every single day of your life!)How sure are you that you are making the right judgement when you do judge?
Ok sounds like a winner and I will be there:thumbsup:Thank you tweetymom and God bless you…In response to you I started a
“Jesus church of christian love” thread

wow distracted, I believe you are not the only one who feels this way. thank you for your sentimentsi think all of us “see God” more or less face to face… sins and all… (when out on a nature walk, or in the Real PResence in the Church…etc) and when we die i esp believe this to be hte case… IT is STAYING with God that is the “impossible” thing…(unless we are bonded to Christ) since God is absolutely perfect and holy - and perfectly just…
i think that’s the hardest thing about being a Christian… enduring God’s absolute holiness… which involves purging ourselves of all stain of sin which is not as easy as it sounds… (understatement)…
**
I’ve had it happen NUMEROUS times in my life that i will feel “pure” and like i am “in good:” w/ God… then i will enter the Catholic Church…
I feel u/conditional Love There**… but also Perfect Purity… and some other things i have never been able to adequately describe… and the longer i stay There, well… again, words fail me… but when There, there is this one thing i don’t have trouble putting into words…
I need to be There for a very long time before i am ready for Heaven…
The “uninitiated” will only know what i mean when they do this themselves… (sit in absolute silence with Him for as long as possible… at least an hour)
As Jesus said in the Garden: “Could you not watch with me one hour?”
look forward to seeing you there…anyone else???Ok sounds like a winner and I will be there:thumbsup:
You betcha you cannot fool God I have tried a few times in my lifetime and sure suffered the results:blush: But I know that I have a loving God who hears me where I am at and ask for forgivness, and that is wonderful. and by the way God isn’t finished with me yet, He still has a lot of work to do and I am thankful when He does correct me.wow distracted, I believe you are not the only one who feels this way. thank you for your sentiments
I here what you are saying…It is at this time you are alone with God…at the confession altar, or alone in a pew or at home or anywhere else, I believe God knows our hearts.
We can NOT fool Him
It is at this time that I believe God will purify all us christians of all our sins when we make an honest confession before Him. Having been forgiven and purified at such a time, should we die immediately after making a sincere confession ti Him, there is no way I believe He will send you, me or anyone else to hell.
That is the reason, should be the only reason, you will hear other christians say, If i die tonight I am going to heaven. We do not believe that the confessonal with a priest is the only place a confession can be said
**Ever wonder what would happen to you you died on the way to confession and never got the chance to confess?. **
Why not make a sincere confession in the car to the Lord?
I trust He will hear you and forgive you.
I do not know about you but when I mess up(allow myself to fall to sin) in my christian walk with him, I turn to God and immediately pray for forgiveness and strength that I will not fall again. And only by the blood of Jesus I believe our sins are forgiven
BTW…God is still working on me. I have not stop falling
I know what He means to carry my cross in order to follow Him
God bless you

this is what I am talking about…you do not know me but you are saying I judge people everyday???See this post earlier in the thread in which I discussed this. But, for clarity, one place in Scripture is John 7:24.

I dunno, mpjw…but it sounds as if you’re judging me.this is what I am talking about…you do not know me but you are saying I judge people everyday???
that or may not be a true statement.
How can you know that for sure?
I would never say that about anyone.
That sounds like a judgement to me, too, mpjw. How do you know you’re not judging incorrectly?now we are communicating and not judging,
And this sounds like you’re making another judgement! And if by chance you encounter a christian who believes that they are saved and God will forgive any sin they commit in the future, and they do not need to confess the sin with a sincere contrite remorseful repentent heart I would say that christian like I was is young in their christian walk with Jesus.
Some of the things you believed were not Catholic theology. You were poorly catechized, I’m afraid.when I was a catholic in my young years and even up to the age of 35…the age I found myself away from the catholic church and any church for that matter, I had some beliefs then that today I do not believe anymore.
Example
I believed…
one had to be catholic to make it to heaven.
praying the rosary was praying to Mary and Jesus as co-redeemers…that Mary had power to answer my prayers, independant of Jesus
I believed that the priest was actually the one who I was confessing to in the confessional and not God…and that it was the priest that priest that actually forgave me of my sin and not God.
And if i get to heaven and find out oops Mary was a perpetual virgin…I do not believe that god will send me to hell for misundertanding Him or not believing the message which has been stated within these forums
God bless you
The CC teaches that “Whosoever knowing that the Catholic Church was made necessary by God through Jesus Christ would refuse to enter her or to remain in her could not be saved” (Lumen Gentium, no. 14).mpjw2
interesting and thank you for letting me know, PRmerger what the RCC teaches. The CC teaches that “Whosoever knowing that the Catholic Church was made necessary by God through Jesus Christ would refuse to enter her or to remain in her could not be saved” (Lumen Gentium, no. 14).
thank you for letting me know.I dunno, mpjw…but it sounds as if you’re judging me.
pr a double negative is a positive…are you asking me …That sounds like a judgement to me, too, mpjw. How do you know you’re not judging incorrectly?
yeah wow…ok pr you called me on that. And this sounds like you’re making another judgement!
Wow!
hi Chris, based on your scenario,Yes, you have to be Catholic. That’s defined Catholic Dogma from the very beginning.
The sin of Adam and Eve caused the whole human race (them) to be expelled from paradise, and it wasn’t until Christ’s sacrifice on the cross that the human race could be admitted into the heavenly paradise, but with certain conditions:
Humans have to be baptized, eat the body of Christ (the victim) and be subject to the Holy Father. We are either on the ark or drowning outside of it. That’s just how it is.
you hear part of what i am saying… but you can never u/stand all of it until you spend time in the Real Presence… There is nothing on Earth like it… Christians who dont’ do that are only get half (at best) of wht Jesus wants for them… if that… I didnt’ know about it when i was younger either even thogh i am a cradle Catholic… Thank God i once had an excellent priest who told me about it… It was the greatest Gift i have ever been given and that is syaing something… Praying the rosary is the next best thing … Well, no, the Mass is the next best thing but then the rosary… Its not always the most pleasant experience (the Real Presence) because it is painful to see how impure you are and all that… I sometimes have felt that i was almost hopeless… but that “almost” is what coutns… Jesus can do wonders…wow distracted, I believe you are not the only one who feels this way. thank you for your sentiments
I here what you are saying…It is at this time you are alone with God…at the confession altar, or alone in a pew or at home or anywhere else, I believe God knows our hearts.
We can NOT fool Him
I’v never felt i would go to Hell if i were to die … but i now know that i will also not go directly to Heaven… at least i sincerely doubt it… I do everything i can to live the way Jesus wants but i am human and i am selfish and (etc)… and so, i feel i have a ways to go. You non-Cathoilcs don’t believe in Purgatory but i KNOW it is real… The Scriptures speak of a cleasning process… There are many passages that allude to this kind of purgation… I just never knew where tofind them whn i was outside the Church…It is at this time that I believe God will purify all us christians of all our sins when we make an honest confession before Him. Having been forgiven and purified at such a time, should we die immediately after making a sincere confession ti Him, there is no way I believe He will send you, me or anyone else to hell.
Catholics don’t either… but it is the place to begin the purging process Many graces come from confession. The Bible says to confess your sins to one antoher… I would much rather confess my sins to a priest (who has heard everything…) than anyone else. for one thing, no one would probably be all that itnerested (??) well… some of my enemies would be… but in any case, a preist has the anointing from Christ to forgive (absolve)… No, i’m not saying that right… Christ forgives through the priest… I certainly hope that’s true because I’ve had a few priests who would probably just as soon i end up in Hell than be forgiven… Anyway, that is the way the Chruch teaches…that Christ forgives us through the priest…That is the reason, should be the only reason, you will hear other christians say, If i die tonight I am going to heaven. We do not believe that the confessonal with a priest is the only place a confession can be said
I’ve confessed so many times, whether in my car or in the confessional that now i don’t even have to really say anthing… God just knows how sorry i am & how repentant…(the true sign being that you don’t do it again). I haven’t been to confession in a long time… long story why… but i wish i could go… and maybe some day i will go to the trouble necessary to do so… It is important to find a priest you feel comforrtable with… but even with a grouchy, liberal priest (been there many times ) the confession gives grace. I find much more grace from a devout pries but that just goes w/o saying…Why not make a sincere confession in the car to the Lord?
I trust He will hear you and forgive you.
you may be further ahead than some Cahtolics… who have the benefit of the sacrament of reconciliation…I do not know about you but when I mess up(allow myself to fall to sin) in my christian walk with him, I turn to God and immediately pray for forgiveness and strength that I will not fall again. And only by the blood of Jesus I believe our sins are forgiven
