Do you honestly believe that voting for someone pro life and anti same-sex marriage will make a difference?

Do you think that getting republican, pro-lifers, in the government will get the current law on abortion repealed?
Now you have got it, Robert. Conservative, Republican, pro-lifers are the best thing for our country and our Church. With enough of them in power we could see an end to world hunger and peace on Earth would be just around the corner.

You may be correct, I have no proof to the contrary, but just trying to be realistic.

The main problem is the people, but there will be an answer if we all pray.
So, maybe we should get rid of laws. That way, there is no problem, right?

Or, we can do as the politicians that you support want to do and kill more babies. Then there will be fewer people to break the laws that are already on the books.

The only way that abortion laws will be at least limited if not overturned is to elect pro-life politicians. I don’t even care if they are democrats. I’m interested in policy, not party. Unfortunately, people like you care more about party and are willing to vote for the party that has infanticide in their official platform.

How about this, Robert. Let’s extend the laws against murder to ALL people AND we can pray for the conversion of people’s hearts at the same time. Deal?

Peace

Tim

You’re accusing me of things that are simply untrue!!! I happen to be politically neutral, and I do not vote.

I take Contemplative Prayer very seriously, and I believe that with enough of us praying, everything will be fine. Remember that in all things, God works for the good for those who love Him.

In that case, I apologize. I am confused, though, why you seem to start so many political threads if you don’t vote.

How does that preclude voting for pro-life politicians?

With Contemplative Prayer, God whispers words of wisdom that go far beyond the vanity of politics.

Yes, but we live in a world where politics can mean life or death for an unborn baby. We can’t do God’s work in this world if we withdraw from this world.

I believe there are many paths of holiness, and my path consists of silence and solitude. Yes, I try to stay detached from the world, but so do many Orders of Monks.

What’s the use, it will not change anything. Abortion and same-sex marriages are carved in stone and will not change in the near future no matter which politicians are elected for office. Better to engage in peaceful prayer then to get your feathers ruffled.
This comment sounds like nothing more than an excuse to vote for politicians for selfish reasons while still throwing the unborn

Oh really? Have you looked at the demographic situation of the First World lately?

If you’re talking about the USA, they now have what could be the most pro-life House of Representatives since Roe v. Wade. Also, a majority of women and Millennials are against abortions after five months.

Then why start this thread? Why are you concerned that others might try using the political realm to combat abortion and the lie of same-sex “marriage”?

Peace

What’s loving about giving up? I’m not willing to give the prince of lies any passive support, and that’s what happens when good people do nothing at the polls.
When God asks me on the last day if I embraced the culture of LIFE…I will be able to say YES!
It wasn’t so long ago that people in many nations didn’t have the ability to vote their conscience.
We can’t ever take it for granted.
👍👍👍

It’s fine with me that people** try** to use politics to solve these issues, but I just have so much doubt that the effort will ever succeed.

I want to thank Robert Sock for proving to everyone on this thread that we should always vote for pro-life politicians. The notion that we should just give up in the political realm to defend the unborn is just evil to me. A nation will be judged by it’s laws and we as Americans may just be held accountable by God in the end. If he is posting here to discourage Catholics from voting he has completely failed imho.👍

False dichotomy, the two are not mutually exclusive.
The more time one spends in politics, the less time that is available for prayer.

In all honesty, do you see things changing anytime soon?

When abortions and same-sex marriages are ended, it will be the Holy Spirit that deserves the credit.

:thumbsup:Patti.
  1. Pray
  2. Help those you can to understand the evil involved.
  3. Vote with all the above in mind.
God Bless:)

Learn to let go and let God.

In all things, God works for the good for those who love Him. I believe that the souls of aborted babies are in good hands.

I no longer watch the news or enjoy sports, and I have not had a TV in decades. What am I missing out on, I ask? I now try to use my new free time in Contemplative Prayer, and I feel I’m making out like a bandit. I feel peace and love.
