Now you have got it, Robert. Conservative, Republican, pro-lifers are the best thing for our country and our Church. With enough of them in power we could see an end to world hunger and peace on Earth would be just around the corner.Do you think that getting republican, pro-lifers, in the government will get the current law on abortion repealed?
You may be correct, I have no proof to the contrary, but just trying to be realistic. Now you have got it, Robert. So, maybe we should get rid of laws. That way, there is no problem, right? The main problem is the people, but there will be an answer if we all pray.
The only way that abortion laws will be at least limited if not overturned is to elect pro-life politicians. I don’t even care if they are democrats. I’m interested in policy, not party. Unfortunately, people like you care more about party and are willing to vote for the party that has infanticide in their official platform.Do you think that getting republican, pro-lifers, in the government will get the current law on abortion repealed?
You’re accusing me of things that are simply untrue!!! I happen to be politically neutral, and I do not vote. So, maybe we should get rid of laws. That way, there is no problem, right?
Or, we can do as the politicians that you support want to do and kill more babies. Then there will be fewer people to break the laws that are already on the books. The only way that abortion laws will be at least limited if not overturned is to elect pro-life politicians. How about this, Robert. Let’s extend the laws against murder to ALL people AND we can pray for the conversion of people’s hearts at the same time. Deal?

In that case, I apologize. I am confused, though, why you seem to start so many political threads if you don’t vote. You’re accusing me of things that are simply untrue!!! I happen to be politically neutral, and I do not vote.
How does that preclude voting for pro-life politicians?I take Contemplative Prayer very seriously, and I believe that with enough of us praying, everything will be fine. Remember that in all things, God works for the good for those who love Him.
With Contemplative Prayer, God whispers words of wisdom that go far beyond the vanity of politics. In that case, I apologize. I am confused, though, why you seem to start so many political threads if you don’t vote. How does that preclude voting for pro-life politicians?

Yes, but we live in a world where politics can mean life or death for an unborn baby. We can’t do God’s work in this world if we withdraw from this world. With Contemplative Prayer, God whispers words of wisdom that go far beyond the vanity of politics.
I believe there are many paths of holiness, and my path consists of silence and solitude. Yes, I try to stay detached from the world, but so do many Orders of Monks.Yes, but we live in a world where politics can mean life or death for an unborn baby. This comment sounds like nothing more than an excuse to vote for politicians for selfish reasons while still throwing the unbornWhat’s the use, it will not change anything. Abortion and same-sex marriages are carved in stone and will not change in the near future no matter which politicians are elected for office. Better to engage in peaceful prayer then to get your feathers ruffled.
Oh really? Have you looked at the demographic situation of the First World lately?Abortion and same-sex marriages are carved in stone
If we get enough votes, it will change EVERYTHING!What’s the use, it will not change anything…
Then why start this thread? Why are you concerned that others might try using the political realm to combat abortion and the lie of same-sex “marriage”?I believe there are many paths of holiness, and my path consists of silence and solitude. Yes, I try to stay detached from the world, but so do many Orders of Monks.
What’s loving about giving up? I’m not willing to give the prince of lies any passive support, and that’s what happens when good people do nothing at the polls.
When God asks me on the last day if I embraced the culture of LIFE…I will be able to say YES!
It wasn’t so long ago that people in many nations didn’t have the ability to vote their conscience.
We can’t ever take it for granted.
False dichotomy, the two are not mutually exclusive.. Believe me that it is better to pray and have trust in God than to spend much time with politics.
It’s fine with me that people** try** to use politics to solve these issues, but I just have so much doubt that the effort will ever succeed. Then why start this thread? Why are you concerned that others might try using the political realm to combat abortion and the lie of same-sex “marriage”?

The more time one spends in politics, the less time that is available for prayer.False dichotomy, the two are not mutually exclusive.
:thumbsupI want to thank Robert Sock for proving to everyone on this thread that we should always vote for pro-life politicians. The notion that we should just give up in the political realm to defend the unborn is just evil to me. A nation will be judged by it’s laws and we as Americans may just be held accountable by God in the end. If he is posting here to discourage Catholics from voting he has completely failed imho.![]()
