Do you know people who always want to get "the last word"?

Hello, just thought I would pop by. Am relaxing and not thinking about tomorrow when on the hottest day of the year, I will be cooking vegetable chilli and rice for at least 30 people. My electric chopping blade has broken, so it is latex gloves for chopping chillis and much crying over onions.

We are supposed to be doing a pilot with about 12 of us and if it works, then running the program properly with a catering crew. Unfortunately, some folks forgot it was a pilot and starting inviting people without regard for whoever has volunteered to cook, or thought to any of the training and advice. So, I will see it through without volunteering for any more cooking and gracefully bow out when it ends. I did say it was too much, and I got an unenthusiastic “we will think about it”, but my pudding seemed to change two hearts, so I have some help.

To be honest, I doubt that I would have the time and energy in the future as our newish parish priest has plans for children’s faith formation and as the only catechist, I think that will keep me busy. Plus I hope to study for a Maryvale Certificate in Catechsis - it will only happen if the diocese help out financially or if I can pay monthly.

Ah well, her endth the long last word at this moment in time. 😁

Ohh,I hope you can find some goggles or glasses to wear at least !

I managed it but two days later the smell of chilli 🌶️ still lingers in my house. It seemed to go down well. However, I made it clear that this was my last cooking contribution. At least I did my bit and as I made too much, a few homeless folks will have a free meal 😃

Curry it another scent that seems to linger on ,it’s tasty but so strong.

Paddy Irishman says to Paddy Englishman.
‘I made an amazing discovery, of how to get the last word in every argument. Now all I add is: yes dear.’

Boo. Last word.

My application forms to do Certificate in Catechesis and for some funding towards the cost are ready to be signed by my parish priest. There will never be a good time to do the course, so I figured it was best to pretend that we weren’t starting a new (and longer) first Holy Communion preparation program, not looking to reintroduce Children’s Liturgy of the Word and a new children’s faith formation (details only known by Father C and God). On the plus side, Fr C has found 3 other people interested in children’s faith formation so we are heading (and continuing to pray) for a team. Being a team of one isn’t healthy, so praying the stagnant waters of our parish move and reveal more treasures)

🕔 Excuse me - may I ask if you remember me? I took a number a few years ago and waited for a long time - all of a sudden my number was called and I might get the last WORD! Happy me!

How to get the last word when arguing with your spouse?

Just say:

‘Yes Dear.’

Okay I will. Just realised I forgot to factor in the Sequence into our First Holy Communion masses, so I am hoping the musicians and Father will dig me out of that hole by agreeing to the shorter sung version. I did warn them not to leave to me, otherwise we would end up with a tune comprising of a mix of by the rivers of Babylon and how great is our God, and offkey.😀

and yes I will pop by just to wish you every blessing on trying to get the last word. 🤣

Beautiful Sunny day in the UK. I noticed it on my walk to and from mass. Fr keeps me busy, so I have been stuck indoors on the computer. 😀

I’m getting cabin fever and it’s only been raining two days …
