I like Father John Corapi and enjoy listening to his message, usually on EWTN. His style might seem assertive to some “timid” people, but his message, is a good one and consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

I like His approach. Then again, it doesn’t matter. I also like priests who speak softly.

In my parish alone; we are blessed with a very soft-spoken priest and an assertive priest, much like Fr. Corapi, I love both of them and their different styles.

Who the priest is, is never a factor for me or any Catholic, when it comes to attending Mass or practicing other Sacraments.

I do not base my decisions, regarding the my Catholic faith or the Catholic Church, or whether or not I’ll go to “church”, Mass, based on who the priest(s) might me. I go to “church” to be with Jesus.

It’s Jesus and “the message” or His “message” that counts! I pay attention to the message, not to the person or the building.

My focus, united with all Catholics, is on God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, One God, and His “Message”.

My primary focus, as a Catholic, is on Jesus Christ, regardless of the servant (priest) dispensing the teachings or Sacraments.

I am not concerned with “preaching styles”; Or a specific individual giving the message.

The message of Roman Catholic Church is One message, united, un-changed, for over 2000 years, with all Catholics world wide united, today and back to the very beginning…

On any given day, a Catholic Mass is the same “message” world-wide!

What do you think?;

Do you like or dislike Father Corapi?

Does the “Priest” or “preacher” affect your “church going” practices?

Yes, i like the faith straight up.throw in a little Fire and Brim stone, the catechism, sprinkle love on top and a little true life.you can’t but not like it.

I have only seen him a few times on EWTN. He appeared direct, humorous and addicted to the Truth. How could one not like him.

Happy Christmas…👍

Do I like Father Corapi?

I Love Father Corapi!!!

I have his whole Catechism on DVD and CD (both).
I also have his Q & A on the Catechism on DVD!

I have soooo many of his talks on DVD and CD!!
I have some of them on my iPod already but I have to still get all of them in there.

Father Corapi has a very distinctive voice too! He grabs my attention as soon as I hear his voice! I listen to him on Relevant Radio and I watch him on EWTN. I also listen to him on my iPod and my CDs. If I ever feel like watching him and he isn’t scheduled on EWTN, I just pop a DVD in the player and I watch him!

I love his “Word of God” talks! He explains the Dogmatic Constitution of Divine Revelation! I have both the DVDs and CDs!

I just got his newest CD called “Come Home to the Catholic Church” because of my protestant brother. I love it!

I just wanted to add;

Many of my non-Catholic, Christian friends, say that their focus is on Jesus, However in practice; it appears to me, that too much of their focus is placed on specific “Preachers”.

Many non-Catholic Christians base their “faith decisions”, (example; the church they will attend) on the “appeal”, of or the “attractiveness” or "celebrity " of specific individuals and not on Our Lord Jesus Christ and His message.

How many times have you heard stuff like this this?

If they don’t like the “preacher” or his wife they just go to a differnet church” -That means a different religion…

After a while these poor people don’t really know what they believe, but thay’ve learned a couple Bible verses along the way so now they got it all figured out and are all Bible Experts". But they all disgree with each other and Catholics and non-Catholic Christians.

It’s the Blind leading the blind on a very large scale.

That’s why we need priests like Fr. Corapi, To Get Catholics motivative to learn our faith and defend our faith with everyonce of or being…Our faith is Jesus Christ.

If you were raised Catholic and left, You are an apostate, you need to go to confession as soon a possible and attend Mass. It is time for you to come back, we miss you and God misses you, come home to your real home, we love you! Your Home is the Romaan Catholic Church…

Come on, you know a lot of what you have done and said and did and the way it didn’t feel right, and seemed a little silly and not real. you know it doesn.t feel real -

COME HOME!

The Roman Catholic Church is your real home, Come Home Now!

For the rest of you, if you have any questions call any Catholic Parish near you and ask about the RCIA program, It could be the best and most important thing you have ever done in your life!

You too need to come home we, all brothers and sisters, are were not meant to be separated…

**where is your focus on now? **.It is suppose to be on Jesus!.

This happens all the time with non-Catholic Christian’s, because they put too much focus on a single person (preacher or priest) and not Jesus.

Many times the decision(s) of non-Catholic Christians, are based on a single man (priest or preacher) and often times eventually results in many not attending any “church”, all together.

And now, they become their “own preacher” believing the they are “infallible” in their interpretation of the bible.

When we die we are going to all be Judged and when you are standing in front of “judge” here on earth, in court; the expression goes; “Only a fool acts as his own lawyer”.

So, is it then wise to be our own “preacher” or “priests”;

It’s not!

That is one big difference between Catholic’s and non-Catholic Christians.

Many non-Catholic Christians follow and are attracted to a specific individual, a “Preacher”, the “celebrity”, based on the preachers personality, appeal and the “show” he puts on.

For me as a Catholic, I am very blessed and lucky. I can attend a Catholic Mass, where I am united with all Catholics word wide, same message, same pray, same Mass.

The Roman Catholic Church has Mass’ every day of the week, all year, in every country of the world and the experience of the Mass, is the same, with thousand and thousands of Catholic priest giving the exact same “message”.

It does not matter who the priest is, or where in the world the priest is, the message is always that same and always focused on Jesus.

Catholics are focused on Jesus Christ in everything they do no-matter where they go tocattend Catholic Mass or (“Catholic, Sevices”) the “Church sevce” are the same and it trancsends couuntries , culters and laungue. God’e Holy

Church is truley universal and utnited ; As One!

All Catholics are unit all united, coming to God to meat ant pyar wth him and worship him and his hie fr His forgivision , love and mercy, meest for a meamesl and eat and prsying wirg inw worshop zhim.fome God ate the same time wheseping Go tegether, Wirh Marg the Mary of God abd all the angeles an saints; Hiw how is that prayer?trs.

AS ONE! AS ONE! AS ONE! AS ONE!

That’s right. Marcus Grodi said the same thing. :yup: He was once a Protestant Minister and now he’s helping other Protestant minister come Home to the Catholic Church! 👍

:yup: So true.

That’s right about the bible verse memorization. My sister (who fell away years ago) has her 4 year old in “Awana’s” and her bedtime is 7:30 PM but her Awana thing doesn’t get done till 9:00 PM. That’s just nuts! The poor little girl is so tired the next day. I feel so bad for her. 😦 I told her that she doesn’t need to be learnging bible verses. I told her that what her daughter needs is her mother’s love and her sleep.
It’s the Blind leading the blind on a very large scale.
HUGE Scale!

Not much more to add to these great posts, other than to say that Father Corapi was a key reason I opened my mind up to the Rosary and the teachings of the Church. God bless him and his ministry.

Yes, I like him, even though his forceful personality kind of intimidates me. I always feel like I learn something whenever I watch him.

If you are fine in your faith then why would he intimidate you? I love his talks and I wish the whole world could hear him. I guess it could be possible for some people to be intimidated. Not to say that they’re weak though. 🙂

Same here. I pop one of my DVDs in even though I’ve seen it before and I pick up something new. I could watch or listen to him anytime! 👍

I think Father Corapi is great. I love the fact that he tells it
like it is. When my sister and cousin were visiting a few
weeks ago, we sat and watched him on EWTN. It was the
first time my sister had seen him or heard him. My mother
who left the Church for a non-denominational one sat with
us and watched but I don’t know if she was impacted by any
of it because she has mild alzheimer’s. I do wish we had
more priests who would speak that way even if their style
was different.

I voted no, but I’m warming up to him. He is an odd guy, but very smart with a good life story to share. He didn’t fit for me at first, but I’m starting to like him.👍 😉

We have a priest like him, he is GREAT, and fairly young.

I really like him. He knows the truth of the Catholic Faith. He knows what it’s like to be away from it. He knows what it’s like to have everything but the Faith and to think you’re happy. He knows what it’s like to lose it all too. He knows what it is like to come back to the Faith when it seems things are hopeless. He knows what it is like to stay in the Faith when things are going well. Because of his experiences, he can reach a wide variety of people. He can be tough when he needs to be- and shows the world that relying on God doesn’t mean you are weak or timid. He’s not afraid to talk about sin or hell- or to tell people they’re going to go there if they don’t straighten up–but he is also not afraid to tell people about God’s love and compassion and mercy. His shows on the Catechism and the Sacraments (especially the Eucharist and Confession) helped me get my foundation in the faith when I was converting, so I am very grateful for his ministry. As far as Catholic evangelists go, he’s one of my favorites.

Well put, thank you.

Let’s see… I’ve probably been listening to Fr. Corapi on and off for the last dozen years or something like that. When I first would hear him preach occasionaly over EWTN shortwave (before I even know who he was or his story), I’d half jokingly say to myself, “Oh, oh, what is God asking of me NOW?” So I (teasingly) “hated” him, as he called me to change. And I don’t like change.

But, seriously, I think he is great and kind of a nice throwback to a straightshooting priest. However… I have found that lately (as more people become familiar with him) that there’s a certain cult of personality which is attaching itself to him and some people are perhaps simplistically falling into the “Fr. Corpai said” kind of thing. This has rubbed me wrong. He preaches truth. But he also is often offering opinion of his own perspective in certain areas of application. And, while I respect this and acknowledge it’s legitimacy, I don’t think it is necessarily healthy to point to him as a certain kind of “be all-end all” in the way some seem to do.

Now, as to the question of whether certain styles of preaching or what have you can affect my “chuch going practices”, well yes they can. If I know that I’m likely to connect better with the preaching here rather than there and get more out of it, then I may well choose to go where I can better benefit. Different priests have unique skills and approaches, even weaknesses. Some will be better than others in reaching various people. That isn’t to say that I usually can’t get something of worth out of even the worst homiletics, but I prefer to draw upon preaching which meets me where I am rather than leaving me wondering, “What’s it’s all about, Alfie?”

I think why some people are “offended” by Father Corapi is because he “touches” something in them that needs attention. Oftentimes I find when I am "bothered " by what someone says it is because it is that very thing I need to “fix” within me.
Not to mention, a little fire and brimstone never hurt anyone. I’d listen to him speak anyday.I bet not too many people fall asleep during his sermons.
