Jimmy, amen to what you’ve said. I am still a catechumen, planning to be received into the Church this coming Easter. Father Corapi, through his programs on EWTN, was one of my first catechists. I have learned much about my faith through him and would recommend his talks to anyone.
I like Father John Corapi and enjoy listening to his message, usually on EWTN. His style might seem assertive to some “timid” people, but his message, is a good one and consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
I like His approach. Then again, it doesn’t matter. I also like priests who speak softly.
In my parish alone; we are blessed with a very soft-spoken priest and an assertive priest, much like Fr. Corapi, I love both of them and their different styles.
Who the priest is, is never a factor for me or any Catholic, when it comes to attending Mass or practicing other Sacraments.
I do not base my decisions, regarding the my Catholic faith or the Catholic Church, or whether or not I’ll go to “church”, Mass, based on who the priest(s) might me. I go to “church” to be with Jesus.
It’s Jesus and “the message” or His “message” that counts! I pay attention to the message, not to the person or the building.
My focus, united with all Catholics, is on God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, One God, and His “Message”.
My primary focus, as a Catholic, is on Jesus Christ, regardless of the servant (priest) dispensing the teachings or Sacraments.
I am not concerned with “preaching styles”; Or a specific individual giving the message.
The message of Roman Catholic Church is One message, united, un-changed, for over 2000 years, with all Catholics world wide united, today and back to the very beginning…
On any given day, a Catholic Mass is the same “message” world-wide!
What do you think?;
Do you like or dislike Father Corapi?
Does the “Priest” or “preacher” affect your “church going” practices?
