Fr. Corapi absolutely rocks! His pointed and over the top style of communication is just what some “fence walking” Catholics need to hear to stay focused on Jesus Christ.
With all the negative forces out there in today’s world like politcal correctness which is polarizing us, we all need to join together as Christians and enforce morality, integrity and the Truth!

👍 Peace!

I wonder what Father Corapi would say about the new movie coming out The Golden Compass and the book trilogy His Dark Materials. I am so sure he would NOT approve!

I like His approach. Then again, it doesn’t matter. I also like priests who speak softly
I also like both assertive and soft spoken priests; depends on the priest too though. I love Fr. Corapi’s style of preaching but I also like Father Joseph on EWTN. He is one of the most soft spoken priests I know. He seems so humble yet honest, so meek yet strong and holy.

I also like Fr. Anthony. I like his style, plus he can be funny sometimes too.
Jimmy B:
In my parish alone; we are blessed with a very soft-spoken priest and an assertive priest, much like Fr. Corapi, I love both of them and their different styles.
👍 I know what you mean.
Jimmy B:
Who the priest is, is never a factor for me or any Catholic, when it comes to attending Mass or practicing other Sacraments.
I do not base my decisions, regarding the my Catholic faith or the Catholic Church, or whether or not I’ll go to “church”, Mass, based on who the priest(s) might me. I go to “church” to be with Jesus.I agree for the most part. I say that because just as I know that no matter what parish I go to for Mass, I know Jesus will be there. I also believe that no matter what the priest believes about the real presence, I know Jesus will still be there to feed me; no matter how “sinful” the priest is, I know Jesus is standing there at the altar. With that said, I do sometimes get in a certain mood to hear one priest over another, or to go to Mass at one parish over another. It doesn’t happen all the time. But once in a while I will go to a particular parish over another.

But it is great to know that no matter what parish I attend, the Mass is the same and Jesus is still there.
Jimmy B:
It’s Jesus and “the message” or His “message” that counts! I pay attention to the message, not to the person or the building.

My focus, united with all Catholics, is on God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, One God, and His “Message”.

My primary focus, as a Catholic, is on Jesus Christ, regardless of the servant (priest) dispensing the teachings or Sacraments.
🙂 I agree. But I do have to say that I have been to a Mass where the priest is a bit more on the “liberal” side and I didn’t like it. So I never went back there for Mass.

For the most part the Masses I’ve attended have been great as far as the preaching and how the liturgy is done. I do not like when the liturgy is abused. I also have a preference for great reverence.
Jimmy B:
The message of Roman Catholic Church is One message, united, un-changed, for over 2000 years, with all Catholics world wide united, today and back to the very beginning…

On any given day, a Catholic Mass is the same “message” world-wide!
👍 That is what I love about my faith.

My sister is protestant 😦 and she has been going to one church for over 15 years. She said she would never want to go to another church because of the people that are there and because of the pastor. She lives with my parents and they have moved from the house that is really close to that non-denom church and yet she still goes there. I still go to my “old stomping grounds” for Mass once in a while but not mainly because of the people or the priest.

Being a protestant in a very small congregation where you only have one small church is hard because you don’t have very many choices except that one.

What do protestants do when they move and they’ve been to a particular “church” for years and they have their own beliefs and style of preaching? When they move and go to another “church” they might not find another “church” with the same exact set of “creeds” or beliefs; or with the same style of preaching from the pastor. I would never wish that on anyone. So I thank God that He gave me the gift of the Catholic faith.

:yup: I love Father Corapi!
Jimmy B:
Does the “Priest” or “preacher” affect your “church going” practices?
Not for the most part, no. It’s not as if I would stop going to Mass altogether if I didn’t like a certain priest. I just go to another parish on any given Sunday when the Spirit moves me to do so. But in the end, no matter what parish I go to for Mass, the message is the same. And not counting any illicit Masses or abuses on how the hosts are to be made (Jesus won’t come to bread made with honey, eggs or any other strange concoction), Jesus is there Body, Blood, Soul & Divinity.

I like his message and I also can relate to him, I am a recovering cocaine addict and since I surrendered to Jesus Christ and came back to the church I have experienced a special joy and serenity in my life. Fatther Corapi is an example of God’s grace:thumbsup:

I love the guy but there is an “overload” point. I’m at that point with him and Scott Hahn. I think after I’m dead God will let me remember all their DVDs but not until then. Now for some reason or other He let’s me remember most of what I read. Go figure??
Anyway I can remember just about everything in Jean Lafrance’s book “Pray to your Father in secret”. What a book and what an author!! I take it to church with me. What I live buy though is Father Richard Hauser’s book “In His Spirit”. I remember every word of it. Love our neighbor now. Love the God within us “here and now”. Don’t worry about what nasty things God is going to do to me because of my past life. Don’t worry about how long it’s going to be before I get to heaven. Make our heaven on earth now! These things I remember.

Not much more to add to these great posts, other than to say that Father Corapi was a key reason I opened my mind up to the Rosary and the teachings of the Church. God bless him and his ministry.

He is an awesome priest…but everything he does now is all about SELLING. That’s all he pitches! Ever visit his website? Nothing but “buy this!” and “buy that”.

👍 Except my dad is with Jesus…:o
mine too… 🙂

as much as i wish his material were free so i can learn and distribute them for the glory of God, it takes money to run things. trust that he is using his own wisdom to make the right decisions on how to distribute his work in the best way.

Is he ill now?

A couple of weeks ago they ran this video message after his show and he said something about not being able to travel as much.

He always did say that his body is older than his real age…abuse et al does that to all of us…😦

ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM!!! Didn’t get a chance to vote. He is one amazing priest! His story is as amazing as he is. I don’t believe I have ever encountered a priest who hits the nail on the head quite like he can. He is truly a one of a kind gift from God.

Yes I like Father Corapi . He explains things in a way I can understand.

I like Father John Corapi and enjoy listening to his message, usually on EWTN. His style might seem assertive to some “timid” people, but his message, is a good one and consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
