I was blessed to be at 3 of his conferences. His bery last one that he was giving was very emotional for me.

At the end he says something like this: I am going away… I do not know you and yet I do. I promise you when we all meet in heaven I will know you and we will get to know each other more. Good bye my friends.

Of course his words are better than mine…anyhoo…I cried and cried like a baby. I was so shaken by his departure and at the same time I experienced joy…true joy… I was experiencing that I was truly blessed by him. And I thank you dear Lord!

Praise and glory to your Name…forver and forever. Watch over Fr Corapi, your very faithful servant, that he may continue to spread the Good News through the media.:highprayer:

what happened, he’s not speaking anymore?

He will not be speaking from city to city as he used to. I do not know if it is permanent or not. He was not sick at the time and, from what I understand, he needed a sabbatical. He will continue to do CD’s DVD’s.

Last year someone in my Re-Membering Church meeting (meetings for us wayward Catholics that were thinking about coming home) suggested Fr. Corapi. I watched one episode & was hooked. Fr. Corapi was now officially #1 on my Tivo. 😃

So one night I’m sitting in bed watching, and my husband ( a non-Catholic) was walking by on his way to the bathroom, stopped, sat on the bed, and started watching too. After that epsiode was over Dh got up & said “He’s awesome”.
Dh liked the fact that Fr. Corapi was so straight forward. Wasn’t afraid of pulling any punches, etc.

And ever since the two of us watch every week. Dh says he needs his Corapi fix. 😃

Now if he would just convert I’d be a happy camper. 😉

Gosh, I simply said that Fr. Corapi doesn't appeal to me and I am accused of being lukewarm, etc. That is one thing that troubles me about some Catholics, and especially many who participate in these threads. They don't want an honest and free discussion. They seem on the defensive all the time, eager to scold those of us who think for ourselves and express our honest views. Priests like Fr. Corapi are praised for being bold, but if we are bold enough to say that he doesn't appeal to us we catch it. Did you want an honest reply to the question or were we supposed to all stand up and salute?

I wonder sometimes if that 'know it all' attitude that sometimes plagues the Church is why do many have left the fold. People want the right to independent thought. And I for one don't feel that I have the right to sit in judgement on others. I'll let Christ do that at an appropriate time. He said that we should forgive one another 70 x 7 times (infinite number?). I suspect that he will do as much and forgive those of us who honestly express opinions that vary from those who apparently have been blessed with so much more wisdom and understanding than we have.

Keep smiling - and pray for peace and good will among all believers. And I would add unbelievers as well. But for the grace of God....

I take offense when you say: you Catholics (or some Catholics). That immediately implies you’re not Catholic. As for passing judgment - people pass judgments all the time. That’s how we discern good from evil - that’s Fr. Corapi’s message. Choose Light over darkness. Passing judgment only implies choosing right over wrong. It’s not “damning” anyone. We left that up to Jesus. He is the only Who can determine whether or not someone goes to hell, etc. Sounds to me like your “judging” Catholics. You can state your opinion, fine. But don’t imply we “Catholics” act holier than thou. Maybe we just know our faith (those of us on the thread)!😃

May the Good God have mercy on us all!

Oh absolutely! This past year has put a real strain on our marriage. The arguing has now turned into acceptance on his behalf. He actually told me he believes (finally) that the Catholic Church is the church Christ started. I believe him watching Fr. Corapi has helped open his eyes somewhat.

That being said, he still thinks that the reformation was meant to be. 🤷 It’s all I can do not to pop him upside the head sometimes 😃

Seriously though, right now I’ll take anything.

I do know that this series is recorded on my tivo right now. It’s just been hectic here & we haven’t had a chance to watch.

Thank you for your (name removed by moderator)ut.

You may want to read the Holy Father’s encyclical Ut Unum Sint. It presents a very clear portrait of the damges and the blessings that came from the reformation. It’s very balanced. Maybe you and he can agree that there are pros and cons to any event. Very few events are totally disatrous or totally exceptional. Most have a little of both.

Exactly! And AMEN! One of the things that drives me nuts about this thread or discussions like this on CAF is that if you don’t agree. You are probably a luke warm Catholic and If you are a convert, you get the condescending response of “some of us are just further along the journey then others, that’s ok you will get there:rolleyes: or my favorite one “he speaks the truth, the truth isn’t always pleasent, maybe he hit a nerve with you:rolleyes: that’s insulting and very persumptuous. And especially for those who claim to love Fr. Corapi, doesn’t he teach anything about humility?

Fr. Corapi does not appeal to everyone. Some even dislike his message and style while others dislike just his style. It doesn’t mean we are lesser Catholics for our opinion. Or that our Catholic faith is lukewarm. How dare anyone in here make that sort of judgement call. He is not the only priest in the Catholic Church who preaches the truth for heavens sake. **We don’t all have to like him! **

true, but he does not preach error, which some have said here, and that is the part that is especially troublesome to me. just because someone doesn’t like his preaching style, that doesn’t give them the right to claim he is in error when he is not.

Let me just say to you something that I have said ever since I discovered CAF. There are too many people who want to be pope. Unfortunately, there are no vacancies in the Vatican, so they come here instead.

As to Fr. Corapi, I don’t like his style, because it reminds me of some of my professors in graduate school. But I have heard him give some lectures whose content I really liked. I love the one that he does on human sexuality.

fr. corapi does take some getting used to. i didn’t like him at first, but i was drawn to his teaching, i learned a lot from him. i was more inclined to learn what i could from him than to not listen because he had a strange voice or style. 🤷 a lot of people aren’t in the position to get a degree in theology or read skads of books. catholic radio and podcasting has been a blessing for those of us who want to learn on the go. 👍

I actually said his message is wrong especially when he implied that America’s sin caused 9-11. Now if this is what the Church actually teaches this then I’d be happy to say he was right. 🤷 his “wake up America” was wrong **in my opinion. ** We dicussed this a few pages back. I don’t know for sure if he teaches in error Chew when it comes to the catechism. I doubt he does. Our Bishop years ago tried to hired him as the head of our religious education in our diocese. Now, this caused a huge melt down apparently. **Several **priests, nuns and religous threw a fit over it and talked the bishop out of it. Someone on this site is from my diocses and remembers it well because she is a huge fan of Fr. Corapi. She was very hurt over it. Now I’m saying this because obviously there are some who do not like him and perhaps the way he teaches flys in the face of other aspects of our faith?? I don’t know.🤷 I have yet to find out what the soul reason why he was run out of our fair city. But he isn’t for everyone that’s for sure!

I think it’s great that many like him and have thier faith strenghtened by him. I fully respect that. But respect for other opinions is needed here as well. I happen to love Bishop Sheen. He speaks my language. 😉 I also love Fr. Greeley. 🙂 I try and listen to all sorts of different priests. In fact I’ll be taking a class on Monday nights from now until August on the topic of our Catholic faith 👍 Can’t wait.
