Do you make your bed every day?

I can’t make the bed in the morning before I go to work because there is somebody in it. He does make it before golf, however, at least, it is made by the time I get home. he also does a lot more of the housework than I do, which is good, or we would be living in a sty.

If it is not made shortly after getting up in the morning it is made before I go to bed at night. I can not stand sheets and blankets that are in disarray - they wake me up at night!

I do have to say that my husband is the one who usually makes it in the morning though and yes, a made bed makes the room look neater no matter how much other clutter there is in it.

Oh, I might even totally “strip” it before going to bed at night because the bedding has gotten all messed up (as in too much hanging down on one side) and my husband tends to really only pull the covers up so the dogs and cats can’t lay directly on the pillows (-: so sheets may be all at the bottom of the bed or not.

I used to wash the sheets weekly but somehow got away from that.

I do not make my bed. My bed is the mattress and boxsprings on the floor. The frame collapsed. No sense in making it. I fold the blanket and put it at the bottom of the bed. That’s it.

Nope. Only on the days when I don’t have to go into work. We work weird shifts, and almost always one of us is in the bed.

I’m on the road to work before my wife wakes up. I would have to roll her off the bed in order to make the bed. Not gonna happen. :nope:

Of course…I would feel like an unmade bed if my bed weren’t made…

:yup:

I put almost never… I’ll end up in at night so why waste time? Though my bed has been sheetless for a few weeks… I am given the luxury of sleeping in my bed, my brothers, or his couch as he is away at school… so eventually one of them is made while the other is in use…

I don’t see much need to make the bed (since I usually sleep on a couch:D ), besides I’m just gonna muss it all up again;)

We make our bed together every morning. We both like our home neat and clean. I was taught to make my bed every morning. I think that when I was a child, an unmade bed fell under the catagory of a venial, venial sin…(very tiny) Just kidding!!!

Love and peace

If I don’t make the bed the sheets get all twisty and bunchy - hate that!

I keep my bed unmade, that way if I get an extra 5 minutes during the day to get into it, it is all ready and inviting! I love my bed. It is my favorite place in my home. I read there, write there, sleep there, talk to my kids there, talk on the phone etc. I keep all my important stuff next to the bed and handy.

I only make my bed about twice a year, because I have some real pretty quilts and I sometimes want to see them all spread out.

Almost never but do like to go to bed with fresh clean bed linen regular, sleep better with clean fresh smell 👍

I can’t leave the house unless beds are made and dishes pack in dishwasher (before dw I would wash and dry and put away) maybe I’m OCD:D but I can’t stand coming back to a mess.

This is really interesting because in my house growing up (like someone else said in jest) not making the bed in the morning was a venial sin! To say that “I will just mess it up tonight” was no reason not to make the bed and besides (now that I am getting to be an “old lady”) I can see the reasoning in making ones bed in the morning - if you have allergies, waiting a little bit before getting up (like go brush your teeth, take your shower and get dressed) then make the bed stops those pesky allergen producing dust mites from growing and a made bed stops any pollen and dust that is floating in the air from really accumulating on your pillow and in your bed.

A made bed not only makes a room look neater no matter how much other clutter there is, it also helps with keeping allergens off the pillows and linens upon which you lay your weary head at night. Anyone with allergies could use weekly linens washing (when I do them I wash my linens from the mattress pad, all the way up to the comforters so I only buy ones that fit in my extra large washing machine).

Okay, done with that lecture 😃

I do have to say I was surprised by the number of people who don’t make their beds in the mornings (at least those who don’t have someone else in them when they leave in the mornings).

This got me to thinking of another thread - who uses their dishwasher all the time and who only hand washes their dishes 🙂 Check in for another poll coming up - my first.

I despise using the top sheet, and even in summer, we will just use a huge flannel comforter instead. While “making” the bed would take just a couple of seconds (really, how long does it take to straighten out a comforter), my husband and I both think it’s pretty pointless for us to do on a daily basis. We’ll only do it if we’re having company.

When you’re single, you don’t need to impress anyone, or being embarassed about it. It’s only me and the cat who go in my bedroom. If anyone else were to go in there, then THEY are the ones snooping around. THey (anyone) has NO right to be in other people’s bedrooms…it’s like the medicine cabinet!
