Supporting mandatory confiscation.

Supporting the 2nd Amendment.

Pick one and only one.
Are you making the argument that no one in Australia can own a gun - period? Or is this a straw man?

Pick one and only one.

We have no gang violence.
So our Government is very happy to declare war on Outlaw Motorcycle Gang members
so who is your government declaring war on?

They are not for guns brought in to the country illegally. Try getting anything in here illegally. We have the toughest border security going
JOURNALIST:

Minister Keenan, there’s been 15 shootings in Melbourne in the past 6 days, more than 2 a day. Apart from disrupting Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs, what is the Government doing to prevent the flow of firearms into the country?

MICHAEL KEENAN:

We don’t tolerate gun smuggling in Australia and we know Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs are engaged in it.

We have been keen to send the strongest possible message from Canberra that we’re not going to tolerate people smuggling in guns or smuggling in gun parts. You’d appreciate that even one smuggled gun can do an enormous amount of damage.

No, I just happen to be aware of what the Australian government did in 1996.

Then I think you need to dig deeper and not fall for bumper sticker cliches.

Yeah, so am I. Did they confiscate every single gun from Australian hands? No? So, what was your point again?

I think I explained my views already. The point of abortion is murder, as is euthanasia. The point of the second amendment isn’t to kill 60 people at a concert in Las Vegas. There’s “more wiggle room” because gun ownership isn’t strictly evil, as abortion and euthanasia are. Gun ownership may be used to pursue a hobby, to provide for one’s family through hunting, or defending oneself from intruders.

whether in closing gun show loopholes (which is almost unanimously agreed upon)
what is a gun show loophole? it is a private sale. what law can prevent two criminals from selling guns to each other because that is what is happening when a person sells a gun to a criminal.

there is no unanimously agreement. the questions were skewed and many gunnies didn’t bite. just like the poll years ago about catholic woman and birth control. they said 95% agreed with it.

Am I to understand that Roman Catholics who are gifted in full with the Truth, are coming on to this thread attempting to virtue-signal agreement with the American left by pushing through a tragedy to varying degrees?

And you need semi-automatic weapons to accomplish the above?

I thought it was a mandatory “gun buyback” program, wasn’t it?

I never said that they confiscated every gun. Nice strawman though.

Yes. I like to be able to shoot multiple times in rapid succession if necessary.

I never said you did. I was asking a question (hence the “?” mark).

So if they didn’t confiscate every single gun from Australian hands, what was your point?

No. It wasn’t a buyback program for every single firearm … just those banned.

The 2nd Amendment states the right to bear arms is not to be infringed. Supporting gun confiscation is an infringement.

There are lots of things people like to do, but shouldn’t.

That needs to be nuanced. Grenades are arms. A nuclear weapon is an arm. Shall we possess these as well?
