Gee, maybe because you have beat the point like a dead horse…why do you assume that i assume?

Oh brother…I don’t mean to sound too harsh but I would just venture to say that you may be celibate but you are obviously not in the same place spiritually and filled with the same devotion, and same purpose for it, as a priest. Therein lies all the difference in the world. Don’t place your own failings on them.

thank you…What part of this do you not understand?
One does not HAVE to be a priest if one feels that his calling is the sacrament of marriage.
I’m glad you asked…Where does celibacy fit into this statement?
Yeah, tell that to a young teen male.Fr. Groeschell is, apparently, a virgin…
You can’t want what you have never had…
you do seem a little preoccupied with it…especially other people’s.What does confession have to do with being “distracted”??And how do you presume to know the state of my soul? Oh, OK, i know… i had the audacity to question some Posters’’ long-held beliefs…
No, i don’t think i really need a confession… haven’t committed any mortal sins (except maybe the aforementioned??)
No, waht i actually need is…
sex

Allhers…you can’t win with this guy. He’s like a kite in the wind. He’s been speaking for others since he started but when you say something he doesn’t like…he accuses you of it.have you noticed how many times you use the word “they” and “them”?? Why do you speak for people who live in ways you do not? Why do you speak for others? Should we not all live our own lives and let others worry about theirs, particularly when you are advocating changes or lack thereof that can make “them” unhappy?? Like i said, i feel that only those who have been celibate for a very long time should be speaking on this subject… How long have you been celibate?? So if they don’t know anyone they would be interested in marrying, that means they can swear off such a thing for the rest of their lives??
My point was not to insult you but to say that a priest who has discerned this for himself, decided that it is for him, and fills his life with his devotion to God and the Church, without sex, is obviously not in the same place you are, as you are so obviously struggling with it. Why do you assume that they are?Oh brother…
Harsh? No, harsh is not the word i would have thought of… but i will refrain from saying the adjective that does come to mind…
No… maybe i will… Presumptuous…
There is a lot of that on these forums… People assuming they know others… their very motives… Hmmm… Oh well. Se la vie…
God bless…![]()
distracted…this is exactly the point I am trying to make. If a priest is in a different place spiritually than you he probably does not get “angry”. And If he struggles, he probably “offers the struggle up to God”. We all have crosses to bear. Offer it up.I’m glad you asked…
Its like this:
Priest is unhappy because he has been celibate too long (lonely, etc.)… priest gets angry @ Church…(sometimes subconsciouly), doesn’t do his job so well anymore… grouchy with parishioners… (etc)…
Well, you get my drift…
(I am being a little facetious… )… a little…

Sorry, I must have missed something. I didn’t understand this.Well distracted said in another thread that they were female.
I guess I should have put that with this post. She is a female. (Distracted) At least she said so in another thread I read.Allhers…you can’t win with this guy. He’s like a kite in the wind. He’s been speaking for others since he started but when you say something he doesn’t like…he accuses you of it.
Distracted…I don’t know why you’re celibate and don’t care…I just know it is not for the same reason that a priest is so I don’t think you’re the expert.
for one thing, i am not “obviously” struggling with anything… I sometimes struggle… I am not obsessed with losing celibacy every day, every minute of the day… In fact, now that i think about it, i hardly struggle at all anymore. I’ve gotten used to it… but there are times when… (sigh)… Long Story!!! I don’t have time or inclination to get into it… but in any case, i am not “struggling” as much as some may think… U can get used to anything…My point was not to insult you but to say that a priest who has discerned this for himself, decided that it is for him, and fills his life with his devotion to God and the Church, without sex, is obviously not in the same place you are, as you are so obviously struggling with it. well, then … i rest my case even more…Yeah, tell that to a young teen male.
well, you obviously haven’t walked a quarter mile in my shoes…distracted…this is exactly the point I am trying to make. If a priest is in a different place spiritually than you he probably does not get “angry”. And If he struggles, he probably “offers the struggle up to God”. We all have crosses to bear. Offer it up.
Again… seeming presumption…And If he struggles, he probably “offers the struggle up to God”. We all have crosses to bear. Offer it up.
Win? What is there to win? Is this a game??Allhers…you can’t win with this guy.
accuses?? hmm… pretty strong words… but anyway, Yes, i have been speaking for priests who are celibate and don’t want to be… because, as stated, i know that is like…He’s been speaking for others since he started but when you say something he doesn’t like…he accuses you of it.
Yes, you are right. Priests are holy and i am not… a holy person has no sexual desires… and if he/she does - God forbid…I don’t know why you’re celibate and don’t care…I just know it is not for the same reason that a priest is so I don’t think you’re the expert.
