… Yes, I do think it should be made illegal - Its false, Satanic and only serves to damage people’s Souls.
So does Satan and his dominions nonetheless, God does permit their function, with full powers in the world–you sound like a complete Hitlarian/Mussolini Fascist.

God Himself outlawed witchcraft in the OT.
The question is not should God outlaw it, it is should man outlaw it.

Man imposing his will upon another, based upon what he believes to be a morally superior position…is not right. People were given free will for a reason. You can turn away from God, or turn towards him.

The State has no business approving or rejecting which religion it deems moral, so long as its practice does not contravene the current legal system.

I challenge you to answer these three simple questions:
  1. What punishment / rehabilitation do you propose for those found guilty of practicing witchcraft.
  2. What does the State do with a person who refuses to renounce their Faith in witchcraft and continues to practice it?
  3. Would one be guilty of an offense if they were found to have practiced witchcraft alone in their home?

God Himself outlawed witchcraft in the OT.
He also outlawed eating certain meats, the wearing of clothes made of mixed fibers, and many other such trivial things. No, wait… It was the priests who outlawed those things, speaking for god.

So you believe that witchcraft should be illegal, fine. Next time you pray to your god and your wish is granted you go to jail then. A Wiccan praying to his or her goddess is the same as you praying to your god. Only if the wish comes true for you it’s okay because it’s your god and not their goddess.

No one will answer your questions, because they realize that history will repeat itself…aka Salem, MA…

and lest we forget…

Joan of Arc…

I would go further to ask, “By what authority does the state or government have to “outlaw” a religion in a country where there is clearly (and I am glad of that) a separation of church and state?”

If you want a country run by religion, move to Iran…see how far that gets ya when you decide to speak out.

an aside…>>>>I saw this on a bumper sticker…and laughed…

“Jesus, save me from your followers.”

Exactly.

It’s easy to say " sure make it illegal". People, tend to have trouble articulating what the state is to do with people who are practicing an illegal religion.

The tone that I’m getting and the fact that my questions are ignored is…

“Make it illegal and don’t bother me with silly questions about the law, freedom of religion, bill of rights, the courts, the policing of this law or the prosecution and punishment of the guilty…just make it illegal!”

your profile states that you are Catholic…you found this funny?
Are you suggesting that Catholics aren’t allowed to laugh at jokes that poke fun at Christians? If they do, are you suggesting that something is wrong with them?

yes, unless there is a canon law somewhere that says I can’t laugh at bumper stickers. I did find it funny…and so…what?

I understood what it meant…sometimes human beings think they have the stranglehold on Jesus and know everything that everyone should and shouldn’t do at any given time (a lot of absolutes…depending on who you are talking to)…makes me wonder how come I didn’t get my crystal ball.

I think that human beings forget that they are fallible and they do make mistakes and are not perfect…even if they have the church doctrine memorized.

Did I suggest something here setitstaright?
Here I thought I was asking a question:D

WHOA you and setitstraight need to calm down;)
It was a simple question my dear…nothing more or less.
I say laugh at whatever you want…bumperstickers, racial jokes, religious jokes, sexist jokes etc.

She replied, she finds it funny…what’s your point.
What’s your point? why are going on and on about this? like you stated I asked she replied and now what…you have to carry on…are you trying to make a point??? If so make it!

I’m perfectly calm…Karin…thanks. Message boards don’t scare me…let alone anonymous people who have no control over my life, thoughts, faith or value system. Since that is the case…I don’t begrudge anyone of their belief system. Now of course we can take that to the extreme…but then again to carry a topic to the ridiculas…would be ridiculas…

No witchcraft should not be illegal…

I am thinking of that Neomiller (sp)…then they came for the Catholics…I didn’t speak up…because I was Protestant…then they came for me…and there was no one to speak up…

It is plain to see - I do believe your trolling and I got sucked in. I am done with your posts on this subject.

trolling…LOL! you the one with only 100 some odd posts…thanks for the laugh setitstraight!

I asked a simple question which was answered by the person I asked it too…you jump in and make accusations…I think you are the troll …good riddance-perhaps you will ignore all of my posts (hint hint)😛 !

I’m perfectly calm…Karin…thanks.
glad to hear it:D

setitstraight…Karin isn’t a troll…she follows the letter of the law. No problem with that, that is the way it is. I had not realized there were extremist Catholics…I really believed that was only found in the evangel/fundie churches…yep, I was wrong on that thought.

Keep in mind that no human being can shake your faith…and no one can walk on you without your permission. You think for yourself and that is a good thing. You have a right to your opinion…as others have a right to theirs. Unfortunately in some religions…you have to be told what to think. And falling off the path is not to be tolerated. Good thing I’m mortal…don’t think I’d make it in the extremist world.

Excuse me?!?!
But where are you getting the view that I am an extremist?

True!
. You think for yourself and that is a good thing.
yes it is a wonderful thing…too many folks cant manage that (thinking for themselves)
You have a right to your opinion…as others have a right to theirs.
Yup…
Unfortunately in some religions…you have to be told what to think.
do you find that an issue in your own religion?
I dont find that an issue in my religion Catholicism.
And falling off the path is not to be tolerated. Good thing I’m mortal…don’t think I’d make it in the extremist world.
We are all sinners…last I checked;)
