Would love to get a response to this … and maybe an explanation of Why or Why not? 👍

And I am sure there are differing views~ So let’s try and give everyone room to expound!

😛

Yes, I do!

But I just wonder whether my reception of the Eucharist confirms this.

Here’s my point: If I truly believe this, why do I not prepare myself more appropriately? Why do I not spend more time in thanksgiving?

Tom

Yes. I believe that Christ is fully present - body, blood, soul and divinity- in the Eucharist. I believe this because He says so in Holy Scripture and Our Holy Mother Church declares it to be so.

No. I do not believe that Jesus is “in the Eucharist.”

I do believe that the Eucharist IS the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ.

MGEISING,

My only answer is to just keep believing and recieving the Euchaist and leaving the rest up to God. That’s our hope, that’s our faith.

Tom:

Faith is a gift … and we have the gift of Catholism and the true great gifts of the Sacraments.

I agree - and pray always!

Thanks for your post! :gopray:

I believe both!

“For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself” CCC 1324

Yes, but the question just seemed to be worded a bit oddly to me. :hmmm:

It made me think of my Episcopalian mother-in-law, who believes in con-substantiation, rather than transubstantiation.:ehh:

She believes that Jesus and the bread co-exist in the Eucharist, so to speak. :whacky:

So, I wanted to make it clear that I believe there’s nothing else “in” there “with” the Eucharist.:nope:

The Eucharist Is Jesus Christ. :yup:

Good point. I believe that the Eucharist is Jesus Christ, whole and entire, body and blood, soul and divinity, under (not in) the appearances of bread and wine.

Actually I believe the consecrated bread and wine become the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ – the Most Blessed Sacrament.

“The Eucharist” to me describes both the celebration of the Mass AND the Most Blessed Sacrament…

YES… START READING THE BOOK OF JOHN STARTING FROM CHAPTER 6… 👍

In John Chapter 6 Jesus said that we must eat his flesh and drink his blood.

At the Last Supper Jesus declared that the bread and wine He was giving to the Apostles was His body and blood. He used no form of figurative expression and he told the Apostles do “do this” (what he had just done – offer and eat his body and blood) in memory of him.

These events were significant enough that they were recorded in the Gospels.

The understanding that the Apostles had of these events is revealed in the writings of the Early Churhc. They believed that they were consuming the ACTUAL body and blood of Jesus.

The Catholic Church, which is the only Church Jesus founded, has infallibly proclaimed that the Eucharist is the actual resurrected and glorified Jesus; Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.

That’s good enough for me!

:bowdown2: ABSOLUTELY! Through the grace of God and the gift of faith He has given me, I believe Jesus to be Truly Present in the Holy Eucharist! Isn’t it amazing that Our Lord humbles Himself to be in intimate communion with us through this simple form?!

If I didnt, and what with all the scandals, I would have started my OWN church LONG AGO. The real presence is the ONLY thing that makes me hold on, in spite of the seeming attempts from the vast majority of clergy to drive many faithful away.

Yes I believe in the body, blood, soul and devinity in the Eucharist, otherwise I wouldn’t go to all that bother of confessions, or even bother to receive.

I believe with my whole being that the bread and wine are changed into the Body and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
I know that when I consume Him in this sacrament that He is truly present within me. Who am I that our Lord would give me such a gift?
