Never - always dress pants and dress shirt. Every week I meet someone who is more important than anyone else in the world. What an occasion!
I’m with you. We can at least dress as well for Mass as we do for work.Personally I think business casual is a good minimum standard.
That was a beautiful post! You are so right!Nope, my trusty charcoal grey, light woolen dress slacks worn to any number of weddings I’ve attended. Shiny shoes and a long sleeve button-down coller shirt, too. Jesus did remark that it’s not the things on the outside of men that matters, so I don’t worry myself about others because I only have control over me.
Old school, I guess. I’ve just got to show some effort beyond convenience whenever I sense it’s reasonable to expect such and when I can help it.
Ah, I see…Oh my. Not at all.
The point of me asking is that it seems to me that there are a lot of Anti-Catholic websites (so called Catholics that are in schism) that say the “problem” with Vatican 2 has led to people wearing jeans and being irreverent and those same people dont even know their faith or they would not be doing such a sacriledge.
I disagree. Some of the most devout people I have seen wear jeans.
No ill intent on my part to ask.
Here is the inherent bashing in an answer.Never - always dress pants and dress shirt. Every week I meet someone who is more important than anyone else in the world. What an occasion!
I knew what you meant.I just realized I should have been clear at the start that the Jeans in question are not wacko jeans, but clean and in good condition.
I just got a call from my spouse and was reminded of the type with safty pins in them and bleach splotches (the kind you pay 20 bucks more for to look like they have been through WW2)
I just assumed everyone knew I meant good condition.![]()

Once again I failed. I’ll ask the mods to put it somewhere else., or if they can get rid of it.Ah, I see…
I thought the responses here were great. Everyone was nice and it was fun to hear how some people think about this matter.
That is OK…everyone makes mistakes.Once again I failed. I’ll ask the mods to put it somewhere else., or if they can get rid of it.

So, expressing an opinion that is contrary to someone else’s is inherently bashing them? Wow. People don’t have to take offense when someone disagrees with them. We are all free to have our own opinions and to express them. Tolerance has gone way too far.Ah, I see…
But you can not avoid the bashing that comes along with the asking of this question.
If people only answered the question then it would be ok, but most feel the need to go on and give reasons.
Not to pick on buffalo but…
Here is the inherent bashing in an answer.
So someone who might happen to wear jeans does not think this way?
This is the problem and it is why I refuse to answer it, afterall, its nobodies business here what I wear to Mass.
