I’ve searched my English Qur’an and was unable to find any passages which state that Allah loves humans. Sure, humans are instructed to love Allah, but does he love humans back?

Hi

Yes, he surely loves, this is certainly one of his attributes.

[85:14] He it is Who originates and reproduces,
[85:15] And He is the Most Forgiving, the Loving;
[85:16] The Lord of the Throne, the Lord of Honour;
[85:17] Doer of what He wills.

I don’t want to be disrespectful, it’s just I don’t know much about this subject, so I tread lightly.

But, I was taught that the God of Abraham and the God of Ishmael are the same God.

Therefore, Allah would have to love humans as he created them.

I don’t know if I am right in this. I don’t want to offend. But, if I am wrong, I would appreciate a correction in this matter.

Hi

I quote some more verses from Quran:

[11:85] And to Midian We sent their brother Shu’aib. He said, ‘O my people, worship Allah. You have no god other than Him. And give not short measure and short weight. I see you in a state of prosperity and I fear for you the punishment of a destructive day;
[11:86] And O my people, give full measure and full weight with equity and defraud not people of their things and commit not iniquity in the land, causing disorder;
[11:87] That which is left with you by Allah is better for you, if you are believers. And I am not appointed a keeper over you.’
[11:88] They replied, ‘O Shu’aib, does thy Prayer bid thee that we should leave what our fathers worshipped, or that we cease to do with our property what we please? Surely, thou dost consider thyself very intelligent and right-minded.’
[11:89] He said, 'O my people, tell me if I stand on a clear evidence from my Lord, and He has provided for me from HimSELF with a handsome provision, what answer will you give Him? And I do not desire to do against you the very thing which I ask you not to do. I only desire to set things right as far as I can. I have no power to accomplish anything save through Allah. In Him do I put my trust and to Him do I turn.
[11:90] 'And O my people, let not your hostility towards me lead you to this that there should befall you the like of that which befell the people of Noah or the people of Hud or the people of Salih; and the people of Lot are not far from you;
[11:91] ‘And seek forgiveness of your Lord; then turn wholly to Him.** Verily, my Lord is Merciful, Most Loving.’ **
[11:92] They replied, ‘O Shu’aib, we do not understand much of what thou sayest, and surely we see that thou art weak among us. And were it not for thy tribe, we would surely stone thee. And thou holdest no strong position among us.’
[11:93] He replied, 'O my people, is my tribe mightier with you than Allah? And you have cast Him behind your backs as a thing neglected. Surely, my Lord encompasses all that you do;
[11:94] ‘And O my people, act according to your power. I, too, am acting. You will soon know on whom descends a punishment that will disgrace him, and who it is that is a liar. And wait; I too wait with you.’

I don’t mean to nit-pick:

The God of Abraham, ISAAC, and Jacob.

OK, you got me there.:o
Exo 3:6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

A true prophet of God can only descend from Isaac.

Just a note. A Muslim poster posted a few days ago that Allah loves sinners **on the condition **that they repent.

The Quran (since you have one, please look this up) unequivocally says Allah hates sinners. This statement is confirmed by the Muslim mentioned above.

Thus, Allah does not love ALL humans. Definitely not sinners.

I have this tendency to compare Islamic belief and Christianity. If this is offensive to anyone here, please ignore me. Here goes - Allah is therefore a big difference from the Christian God that Christians know of. For God loves us while we still are sinners. What more once we have repented of our sin. While we are still sinners He sent His only son to die for us in love of us.

God loves us because we are His creations. Like a father loves his children, even if his children disobey him or do bad things, a father would still love his children. Don’t we? Yes, we do. What more about God, who is a perfect Father. He loves His children, that are us, for what we are and no matter what we do.

God’s love is unconditional. Allah’s (Islamic God) love is conditional.

God bless.

Hi

I think the poster has not understood it correctly. He is requeted to rectify his conception according to folowing verses:

[11:91] ‘And seek forgiveness of your Lord; then turn wholly to Him. Verily, my Lord is Merciful, Most Loving.

[6:52] And warn thereby those who fear that they shall be gathered to their Lord that they shall have no friend nor intercessor besides Him, so that they may become righteous.**
[6:53] And drive not away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His pleasure. Thou art not at all accountable for them nor are they accountable for thee. So if thou shouldst drive them away thou wilt be of the unjust. [6:54] And in the like manner have We tried some of them by others, that they may say, ‘Is it these whom Allah has favoured from among us?’ Does not Allah know best those who are grateful?
[6:55] And when those who believe in Our Signs come to thee, say; ‘Peace be unto you! Your Lord has taken it upon Himself to show mercy, so that whoso among you does evil in ignorance and repents thereafter and reforms, then He is Most Forgiving and Merciful.’ **www3.alislam.org/showChapter.jsp?ch=6&verse=50

Hi

I can understand that Jews are racial so is their concept of GodAllahYHWH.
Please don’t make CatholicGod a racial one; the Catholics are broad minded so should be their concept of God.

Thanks

I think God is viewed the same way by Christians and Islamic belief by what you stated, God loves the sinner and hast the sin.

Hi

I think **episcogirl **was taught the right concept, which is not racial.
Ishmael was also a promised son of Abraham and included in the Covenant, that is why he was circumcised, which is one of the signs of Covenant.

Could anyone please clarify how the following prophecy was fullfilled:

Genesis 17:20
And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.

Genesis 17:26
Abraham and his son Ishmael were both circumcised on that same day.

Thanks

My understanding is that Ishmael descendents are the Muslims.

Hi

So, you undestand like me that a DivineReligion has to be broad minded, and Ishmael was also part of the Covenant. When Jesus was born without a father ( according to the primitive customs, sons and daughters were ascribed to the male members) that meant that after the fullfillment of the prophecy about Isaac for a long time; it was a warning to Jews that due to the Jews’ planning an **attempted murder of Jesus **( in line with their attempts to kill other Jewish ProphetsMessenger) now the time had come for a change of hands from Isaac to the descendants of Ishmael.

Thanks

I know that descendant - Mohammad. :whistle:

I’m not making it racial. When God Himsellf says that he perfers people who worship him correctly, it’s not racism.

Dear brother paarsurrey we Christians are Jewish we are the heirs of Abraham, and the Covenant with Israel continues with us.

1 Chronicles 16:16 covenant, for Israel as an everlasting covenant

Galatians 3:29 You belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendant, heirs according to the promise.

Hi

Very kind of you. I appreciate your charitable comments.

I understand that being **racially non-Jewish **my Catholic brethren mostly **in love of Jesus **wish to come under the umbrella of Abraham’s desecendants, I understand that and I like that, but that is spiritually not physically; as our racial Jews would like to.

The Catholic are spiritual and broad minded people, I must say. That issue will be later settled/discussed.

The Jews have in the OTBible given concept of a RacialGod, who does only care about them only, as if others are only step-sons/humans. GodAllahYHWH loves and care for every human being on the globe; they have misunderstood Him and misrepresented Him.

I love Jesus and Mary.

Thanks

Hi

Yours is a Catholic broad-minded concept. You want to say in other wrords that GodAllahYHWH loves merit; He likes worshippers who worship Him correctly- the righteous people . The Jews proved that they were not righteous people, I mean the Jews who wanted an attempted murder of Jesus who was a righteous and innocent person who worshipped GodAllahYHWH correctly. They had no business to kill him. Why were the after an innocent man and LovedOne of GodAllahYHWH? Only because they had got spoiled not only themselves but the scriptures also.

They preferred their Tradition (Talmud) over the the Scriptures (Torah or OTBible). That was an injustice on their part.

Thanks

I’m not actually Catholic.

Nice try.
