If the 13 colonies had not rebelled against their King, then they would have remained a part of the British Commonwealth, and, thereby, been involved in WW I and WW II automatically.
But after their victory and separation from that Commonwealth, those same colonies chose to become involved in WW I, even though they were not mandated to do so. So, really, the American Revolution was to no avail in regards to keeping the USA out of European war.

The USA’s involvement in WW I led to the very disadvantageous peace that was forced on Germany. And that led directly to WW II. So what use to us was the American Revolution? None at all, really.

Does America want to rule the world?. I guess it is how you interpret the question. America wants to control the economy of the world. Whoever dictates how the economy is run, essentially rules the world, so to speak. America has a military presence in about 150 countries, far more than any other nation. It is a highly interventionist nation. It doesn’t rule in a sense as WWIl Germany or post-WWII Soviet Union or China but it is at the helm of World economy and fight furiously not to lose that positon.

Rome did pretty good for quite awhile.

As did the British.

You need to apply to the US to be a protectorate, and later be voted into the union as a state.

I meant pretty good in the sense of effectiveness not whether they were good or bad morally.
