People have been saying this for a long time, but its different now for some reason. The USA is changing. We are headed somewhere bad. I think God is telling us that we’re going to require a different kind of Pope for what lies ahead in the world.

I’m feeling something, too. I know were going to have to suffer. I just pray for courage. We’re living in troubling times. The Church will endure, though. We have the promise of Christ and I’m looking forward to the next Pope who will lead us through the Chastisments, sufferings, etc.

I have no idea what even the next moment holds. I’m not sure it’s healthful or productive to spiral into worries about the future. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit loves us and knows what’s best. His Plan is divine and good and I trust in it even when I lack the capacity to understand.

Tough times have been here for a long long time. Will they get worse? I’d say probably. They will get worse, but I pray and think that we’ll see a turn around eventually.

Nice:thumbsup: I agree with you. But I dont think we are going to be able to just sit back and trust God from our sofa anymore. Speaking for my sinful self of course.

When I said that 5 years ago I was a “fringe wacko” and an uncharitable Catholic if I mentioned any names, 3 years ago I was merely paranoid and today it’s often the opening of a conversation. We are indeed heading somewhere evil and rather quickly.

This. I trust in the Lord. We are told not to be anxious for anything, especially the future.

5 years ago I wouldve been the one to call you a wacko!!! Now Im prepping and praying the Rosary!

**Its possible. Something sinister is underway, HOWEVER (This next line needs to be capitalized) OUR LORD JESUS IS IN CONTROL!! THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL PROTECT US. We are HIS BRIDE, Holy Church. JESUS will not let the gates of hell prevail against us. We are fighting a WON battle. This battle was won a long time ago, in fact, 2,000 years ago on a Hill called Calvary.

TO ARMS!!!

We have the MOST BLESSED SACRAMENT, GOD HIMSELF, what more do we need? HE will protect us, even in the midst of turmoil. Pray to Our Lady and entrust Yourself to Her. She will not fail You. Here is a movie that is worth the watch though…

I agree. Things are going to get tough. But God doesn’t give us anything we cant handle. All we can do right now is pray for a smooth transition. God loves all of His creation, and He wont let things get out of hand. Whenever something bad happening comes into my mind, I just remember one two word saying, “God provides.”

The Light shines the brightest when the night is the darkest. May whatever comes be for the salvation of souls and for the souls in Purgatory.

Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, live soberly, and set your hopes completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (! Peter 1:15 NABRE)

I didn’t know my mind had loins, but who am I to argue with our first Pope!😃

If the Great Saints have taught me anything, they have taught me this: Even after we draw our last breath, until Jesus Christ comes again in glory, we fight.

I agree that we can offer fasting and prayer which is very good and I should do - especially as Lent is approaching. However, I still trust in God, my Saviour, even when my weak sinful self is sitting on my sofa.

ive got a basement full of food, water and iodine pills…
and somethin is gonna happen soon !!

I think people in every time have always had a sense that things are getting worse.

Some things are getting worse, but some things are also getting better. Every time period is a mixed bag.

I’m not sure about that, Joe. I lived the entire “the Russians are going to drop nuclear bombs on our heads” period. And you know what, because more people lived according to Christian principles, we didn’t lose a second of sleep over it. We had a ton of fun! I knew those were B-52 bombers flying overhead every day but we lived our faith daily.

No, it was not perfect. Yes, there were problems, but for the most part - today is worse.

Tough times ahead? No. Any reading of the business press will tell you that. Profit-sharing checks are going out to workers at Chrysler, and Ford and GM plan to do the same.

I think people are making it harder on themselves, Joe. WE (me included) cannot sit on the couch. There’s a new evangelization that needs to take place. I don’t mean we should stop people on the street and quote a chapter of Scripture, but we need to go out into the highways and byways as individuals and groups and meet people where they are, and say something or give them a tract.

The media won’t do it. We need to. Even if it’s just one day a week.

Peace,
Ed

Yes, prophecy is showing this to be true. But as Padre Pio said, “Pray, hope and don’t worry”. Our trust is in Him. Blessings to all my dear brothers and sisters in Christ. Stand strong in faith.

What specifically are you worried about? Specifically what tough times are you thinking will happen?

I won’t worry myself about the future. I will just continue to pray and trust in God to take care of His children. Worrying about what evil the future holds will never do anyone any good. Pray, pray, pray and hold onto faith!

The Catholic Church is built on that Rock indestructible by the power of evil. Jesus Christ met the obstacle but overcome it temptations, in the desert, in the garden and finally on the Cross; destroying and conquering evil by His Paschal Mystery, suffering, death and resurrection.
I am downhearted by the news on yahoo when I opened my mail, on the resignation of Our Holy Father Pope Benedict the XVI.
I love him dearly as He is the right Pope after His predecessor for this millennium. His encyclicals, reflections and speeches especially the promulgation of the Year of the Faith are best descriptions of His Fatherly love for God, the Church, all the people and the world and also His care as a Good Shepherd for the well-being of all in all aspects of our lives now and for eternity.
However, the Catholic Church will always triumph. I defend the Catholic Church from within and without despite of evil-doings from within and without. I just can’t believe that evil-doings arise from one of the priests concerning our diocese here in the Gilbert islands. This evil priest proudly announced the resignation of Our Father in our meeting this morning. This priest whom I have mentioned his name to the webmaster, should resign or asked to resign not our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI.
What I have said and say here are true and honest for the Glory of God now and for eternity.
In Jesus Christ and Mother Mary
