Do you think not having a mommy would be a good thing for this baby?Him and him can adopt!
THANK YOU! I appreciate thatListen and follow your heart Chizzy. Lots of bad stuff being thrown your way and it’s not necessarily accurate. People here have good intentions, but many times they are just wrong.

Quick side note: There is a third option. He can accept the attraction, and refuse to act on it sexually. This is very different from “resisting the attraction”.He does not choose to be attracted to men; but he may choose to follow that attraction or try to resist.
Don’t add up to multiply, marriage adds up to a female +male + baby…not produced by gays genitalia…Him and him can adopt!
Wrong according to your own personal views, or wrong according to the Church? Because the way I see it, when we are in synch with the Church, it is us who are objectively right and you who are mistaken.Listen and follow your heart Chizzy. Please be a part of the discussion - point out what you see as “bad stuff” or “just wrong”. Demonstrate the error, and show a better way.Listen and follow your heart Chizzy. Yes no argument - **resist acting on the attraction **was my intended meaning.Quick side note: There is a third option. He can accept the attraction, and refuse to act on it sexually. This is very different from “resisting the attraction”.
Resisting the attraction is called repression, and it will end in very ugly ways – not just for the person who represses, but for everyone who he entangles in his web of repressed desires.
Mind you, I don’t have a problem with praying that the Lord deliver us from particular temptations. But when we are tempted, we have to accept that this is the way that we are tempted, and not try to deny that we are sinners in need of God.
It only takes one adult to adopt. Considering that you are not thrilled that he has another man as a lover, it seems a little odd that you’d be any happier with the idea of the two them adopting a child.Him and him can adopt!
This is incorrect. That Christian homosexuals receive “greater condemnation” has never been part of the faith given to us by the apostles.God accepts a person who repents from sin and turns away from it.
You cannot live in sin and continue your relationship with God as if nothing has happened.
Homosexual behaviour is not only against the natural use by which God has created man and women for, but also puts on display blatant disregard of God laws and ways by this lawless act defiance.
Homosexuals who continue in their homosexual activity whist claiming to profess being Christians will receive the greater damnation because they have used Christ’s name in vein in committing a crime against God.
Never heard it put that way but it makes sense to me.I think there are two issues. There is matrimony, which is a sacrament of the Church and there is marriage, which is a legal institution. The govt regulates marriage…but the Church follows what they believe and teach are the directives of Jesus Christ.
So…I support gay marriage. Matrimony is in the hands of the Church who is to receive that sacrament.
Not really - matrimony is not a different notion to marriage. See the dictionary. We would prefer:Never heard it put that way but it makes sense to me.
I was saying thats a good way to explain the two sides of the issue, what the state controls and what the Church controls marriage and matrimony. Not really - matrimony is not a different notion to marriage. See the dictionary. We would prefer:
- The State not hijack the definition of marriage/matrimony - if it wishes to recognise same sex ‘union’, let it define and name them distinctly;
- Refrain from endorsing what we see as immoral arrangements and undertakings (eg. surrogacy).
Chizzywinks, I just wanted to say I totally understand what you have said in your posts. I too stopped going to a Catholic church partially for the same reason and reading this forum from behind the scenes played a role as well. And I just wanted to say God bless you and your son and your family. Peace be with each of you.My son is gay, and stopped going to church several years ago because of the Church’s stand on gays. I wish he wasn’t gay, but…he is. He can’t change that anymore than I can change the color of my eyes. I don’t want him to be alone for the rest of his life. I hope he finds a person (male or female) that loves and respects him and wants to be with him for the rest of his life. He shouldn’t have to pay for his homosexuality by never having a loving partner and maybe one day, a family. In the eyes of the Church, it’s “ok” to be gay as long as you are celibate. Well, sorry…I don’t wish a lifetime of that kind of loneliness on anyone. I am very tolerant. I am very accepting and supportive. I pray each day that God watch over my kids and family. God made my son the way he is and He knows what’s in his heart.
Thank you for your understanding. I truly appreciate it.Chizzywinks, I just wanted to say I totally understand what you have said in your posts. I like that, too.Never heard it put that way but it makes sense to me.
A child in a loving home is what’s important, be it a single parent, parents of opposite sex or parents of the same sex. I’d much rather see a xhild adopted by a gay couple (which include a lesbian couple!) than spend his or her life in foster care.Do you think not having a mommy would be a good thing for this baby?
Yes I can agree with that. Love afterall seems to have been one of Christ’s most important messages. One might argue it was the most important of His commandments along with caring for the poor and the sick. So amen to loving homes for children.A child in a loving home is what’s important, be it a single parent, parents of opposite sex or parents of the same sex.
