How do you even know that Venus Flytrap evolved from the Sundew ?Eventually those targets would be hit repeatedly over many generations resulting in the evolution of a Venus Flytrap from a Sundew-like ancestor.

Right, this is pure speculation .In this case, creative storytelling can make anything true.
Right, in nature everything has to work perfectly right out the gate.Everything is connected to each other, there is no time for evolution to slowly figure it all out. Here is the formula: time x a lot of random events = living organisms that can do a wide range of things. The more time the better. Imagine you have a flat panel with many, many holes drilled into it of different sizes. A “mutation” comes along but it can only fall through holes of a certain size, with the other holes being too small. Now, over a billion years or so, enough combinations occur to create a living product. In the end is the realization that the odds are the number one followed by way too many zeros to make it work out. The odds are so very low that being skeptical is a good idea.
Good advice. You need to learn more about how these two process interact, and what each process does. Currently you are making far too many elementary errors.
He is patient that is true, but his answers are too vague.Good advice.
Your posts are the epitome of patience and teaching excellence in a hostile environment.
They are in the same clade: Family Droseraceae. There are around 200 species of Sundew and a single species of Venus Flytrap. The Venus Flytrap is confined to a small part of the overall range of Sundews. All that, as well as DNA sequences are evidence that the Venus Flytrap evolved from a species of Sundew. How do you even know that Venus Flytrap evolved from the Sundew ?
How long did the Venus Flytrap have to sit around waiting for its trap evolve and work ?Techno2000:![]()

Because evolution says the clay pot can make itself. If you agree with this then why are you arguing against evolution?
But it can’t existence unless until it’s created.ahh, but it doesn’t say it can create its own existence.
None of which prove anything. Imagination isn’t science. We have a good series of fossils showing the development of the mammalian ear in Therapsid reptiles, also known as “Mammal-like reptiles”.
So you are saying that the development of mammalian features in a reptile does not lend support to the idea of macro evolution?None of which prove anything. Imagination isn’t science.
Incidentally. the fossil record provides a clear line of descent from clown-bacteria to clownfish to clown-amphibians to clown-reptiles to clown-mammals to clown-monkeymen to the very human clowns one sees at the circus. Evolution is incredible - without it there would not be one clown on earth to entertain children.Blind, random, and unguided evolution knew that there would be clownfish for the sea anemone ?
Just as there were humans prophets who could forsee the future, there were plant prophets that could forsee the future as well. Did I tell you about the how the fossil record provides a clear line of descent from bacterai-prophets right through to plant-prophets right through to human prophets? So a random mutation told these Plants that they were going to have to “evolve” to eat insects in order to survive…I’m not buying it. How did the plants know that there would be insects available for them to eat…evolution told them ? And how long did it take evolution to get the trap to work?
There is actually medication you can take to help you see how evolution can explain everything - it’s called LSD.Oh, you should just accept it. Or read a book titled “The Blind Watchmaker: Why the Evidence of Evolution Reveals a Universe without Design” by Richard Dawkins. It’s taken literally by some, but a “blind watchmaker” making a working watch? I don’t buy it.
