Does Donald Trump hate the poor?

Quit bashing our political leaders…we are to pray for them.
And stop trying to judge another persons heart.
Spreading and sowing the seeds of hate is not what we are called to do.
 
But tax reform was the “nice” version of class warfare, the proposed budget cuts to nearly every social welfare program imaginable show that Republicans are determined to win a scorched earth-type war against the poor. Not to fight a war against poverty, but to crush the poor.

But he does hate the poor.

And kittens and puppies too. I also heard a rumor that he stole ALL of the Christmas presents from the people of Whoville…
 
I do not personally know the man. I have to follow what Scripture teaches me “by his works you shall know him”. It is my observation that Mr. Trump does what he feels is beneficial to his brand, if that means appearing to hate the poor, that will be what is presented. If he feels it is beneficial to his brand to appear to love the poor, that will be what is presented. In the long run, what will garner him the most return will be his policy.
 
I don’t know any politicians so I don’t know if they or Trump hate the poor, I just know that Republicans and centrist Democrats push policies that hurt the poor. The Trump administration has certainly done what it can to hurt poor people.
 
I respectfully but strongly disagree with Balto1. Trump pushes policies that hurt the poor? Like, say, lowering taxes and returning blue collar jobs to the USA, as seen in record low unemployment, particularly for minorities?

I think Trump has done more to help the poor than any President in the last 100 years.

Every attack, cut, or restriction placedmon social services hurts the poor. For example, allowing states to place work restrictions on Medicaid kills poor people.
 
A rising tide lifts all boats. Jobs and opportunities help the poor. Important to remember. Among all nations America’s poor have a much higher standard of living.

I don’t think he hates the poor.
I don’t think he understands poverty very well or the reality about who the poor are or why.
For instance: I don’t think he could describe how all the people doing minimum-wage work are supposed to live, like where they’re supposed to live, how they’re supposed to pay for that and buy food and other necessities and so on. I don’t think he has a clue about that. That doesn’t mean he hates anybody.
 
They probably mean the Administration proposal to change the way eligibility for poverty programs is calculated. It would throw a lot of people who are living on very little into living on a lot less.
 
What purpose do threads like this serve besides to pat oneself on the back for the position they have on it?

And no, he doesn’t hate the poor. He simply loves himself above all others.
