It doesnt, it just shows how gullable people are at listening to these dogs that only care about themselves, if people listened to God and tested these claims or should i say spirits behind them then there wouldnt be many or any splits in the church.
So how does one know that they are testing properly? Of course they all say they test things, and only hold fast to that which is true. They all just have different perceptions of what that means!
The problem, is when members see dogs (or wolves) they run. Wolves bite and hurt. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who gave His life for the sheep. He is why we stay, and why we can muster the strength to stay.
It’s easy to be at peace, when there are no wolves. It’s hard to be a lamb, when wolves circle.
It’s the new way to search for a nice, well to do, quaint, charming, thriving church, which does not make known its position on dozens of issues or promotes relativism, and then decide to attend.
Jesus sent us out as sheep among wolves, and they are constantly infiltrating the Church. We cave in, and say “who am I to stand up to false beliefs? I will step aside and leave it to someone else who wants to get bit.”
Priests have a duty to admonish the flock, and rebuke those who deny the faith. This is a tremendous task! But the reward is a clean house, at peace with one another and praising God with genuine joy!
But we want our reward without the risk and confrontation. If a member comes to the priest and explains s/he is leaving the Church, whether for disagreements of doctrine or claims of a private revelation, we are to give an account for the faith we profess, and not shrink away or try to be a yes man.
It’s ok to struggle with Teachings. Jesus Taught hard doctrines! But to deny the doctrines which the Church who feeds us Christ’s Eucharist will only result in damaging the body, even if we experience a pleasant result. It’s the devil paving the way, so he does not have to contend with us resisting his plans.
