You know, things had gotten fairly mellow… I had already pulled up a chair for Lisa to join Anathama and I as we did the e-mail version of Texas B-B-Q on her pig metaphor…
I had done some research on various ‘metaphor marinades’ to make sure all our words were tender … and then you come up with hijack attempt on the thread! 
I have a hunch there is an excellent opportunity for you to start a new thread on this part of Revelations specific to its Literal/Figurative aspects. I may even join you …but, first, I think we really ought to put this thread to bed.

I agree, it is time to put this thread to bed. Every time it is updated I inwardly groan inside, but then again I get to post what is going on with in regards to the pig.

What I mean is, that you want to discuss whether or not fire is literal fire (that is what I wished not to discuss). Whereas the question was what does God feel for those he condemns to hell?

There is no point in trying to discuss the issue any further when you quote scriptural texts to support your argument and then state that you do not wish to discuss the meaning of those texts…

You need to state why Revelations is not relevant.
If you fail to adequately refute my position that Revelations is proof that God doesn’t love Satan then there is nothing to discuss.

There are several good points to why this should be discussed. I think the first consideration is one of charity. Saying you are not going to participate … well … you can do better than that. Besides, I don’t know if Lisa can (she has not accepted any of our invitations to enjoy some B-B-Qed ‘metaphorical’ pig … maybe this will help in gettng her to join the group!) And, yes, I do recall that she said she wasn’t going to participate first - but, that was then and this is now.
Now, if we are going to ‘roast’ Satan like we are this pig … we are going to have a problem. Sulphur, while not adding anything to the temperagure (the melting point of sulphur is almost 240F - way too cool for any fire) but - it will provide a memorable odor! While Satan has no body to be reunited with on the Last Day (at least none that we know of) the bodies of the damned humans will suffer from all kinds of heat. Actually, the souls of the damned will also suffer torment - so there must be a specific punishment for spirit.
The idea of Satan ‘shoveling coal’ while momentarily funny for some - has a lot of depth to it. Hell is real as are the punishments for all who go there. Those souls who chose damnation rather than life with Christ are loved by God 0 and if we can hear from you.

I strongly believe NO…loving Satan means loving all the EVIL WAYS of Satan. God would have kept Satan in Heaven or a temporary place if Satan has some sort of redemption.
