Just to stir the pot God wants you to be…are you born again? Do you believe Christ died for you "cheezy’ and paid the price for your salvation? Yes, God wants you to be a “Christian” first and foremost.
Catholics are the original Christians and practice Christianity to it fullest. All those that have followed differ from true Christianity by the innovations of their various founders.

But he did tell the apostles, he who hears you hears me. You guys as Protestants believe in only bible and just bible. Well ironically god did throw a bible while he was ascending to heaven. It was passed by tradition, just as Paul says, follow the traditions which has been giving to you, either orally or by letter. 1 church follows that, and guess who it is.

That’s right the Catholic Church.

But when denomination teaches that abortion is ok, and the building next to it says well just in some cases, then the church next to it says no you can not have an abortion. You have 3 different teachings. I don’t think god is confused Lisa, Protestants make it sound that he is.
Oh please don’t get me going…I’m laughing ,it’s luch time. While your doctrine is one within the churchyou have the same variations, even on abortion. Do you know how many of my legislators are Catholic, and how they are for abortion on the government level? Come on and not one excommunication. Why even the past Planned Parenthood head honcho for our county was Catholic, educated in her schools.Do you know that half the voting Catholics voted for Obama despite his heavy pro abotion, pro gay ,pro stupid marriage, anti Israel etc etc etc etc.?..No, we are in the same boat where our Judeo Christian heritage is getting quite impotent in the western society-that is Catholic,Orthodox, Protestant alike- you in your unity and us in our disunity -makes no difference in this regard (abortion).

So your saying bc a politician accepts abortion that speaks for the whole church? So if somebody at your church is unfaithful to their spouse your entire denomination is unfaithful to their spouse. Once again, if I vote for Obama, you don’t know why i voted for him. I could have voted for Romney bc of x status, or for Obama bc I liked his stance on issue y. Remember just bc you vote for somebody it does not mean you have to agree with them 100%. If the ppl who are in charge of planned parenthood or abortion clinics are Catholic, that’s on them.

The Church does not teach that.Pick up the Cathechism of the Catholic Church. You sound like your from the USA> WHy was CNN, MSNBC, Fox all saying when the conclave was going on. Well see if the church changes its position on abortion or gay marriage. Why do you think that was? Bc we stand to what the bible says.

Also don’t judge the church as a whole remember. Your udging the Church bc you have came across Judas, on the Contrary see the Church for what it stands for. The truth, the presence of the Eucharist,

No you don’t .You don’t teach baptism of the HS as we do with it’s full giftings and speaking in tongues(though you allow the charismatic movement with neither a ye or ney) .You also separate too much clergy and laity, very OT, where the believer is somehow not as "gifted "or having equal access. While not in doctrine the priesthood in practice is on a pedestal, more so that in Protestant churches. We also have more assurance and a more direct belief to entrance into heaven by His blood without the need for purgatory intracies (purging yes but your intracies no).

Rationalizations.Shame on us.

So is it? So if somebody at your church is unfaithful to their spouse (which im sure it has happened) does that mean that you are the same way? You made it sound bc politicians who are catholic vote for abortion somehow it speaks for all of us Catholics.

Chez,

It’s one things to read the Catechism… But understanding it is something different!
It’s one thing attending Mass 2-3 times per week, but do you understand it?

**Some, not all. Since I’ve been advised not to read it, I’ve no one to help understand it. Should I stop reading it?
Attending Mass is one very important thing; and again, if no one will explain it…
A book just makes it more confusing. Should I stop reading/attending?
**

You did a great job pointing out what everybody else is doing wrong, but with no mention of what you might be doing wrong.

**I have many wrongdoings. This is what brought me to the Church. I didn’t feel it necessary to bring them to CAF. **

You will learn, when you go to Confession, the Priest is not in any way interested in what someone else may have done leading to your sin!.. “Through MY fault, through MY fault, through MY most grievous fault”

Never thought otherwise regarding my sins. I am learning now; I have some knowledge under my belt, too, as He gave me a brain with which to think and learn; attending 2-3 times a week helps. It also helps bring about more questions from which to learn. I will learn much more when I can go to confession as a member. And mass, and …

Don’t take things so personally… You have no idea what others are going through.
By the way, did you ask the RCIA Instructor how she was feeling?

**I am a person. Difficult to know how not to be one.

No, I don’t and that goes both ways, and that doesn’t excuse every member of the RCIA program from doing what they did. The odds that they all had a bad day, everyday for three months, is stunningly low, and,
Yes, I did ask her. She told me she was going on a vacation.I told her to have (and prayed for) a safe journey.**

Cheezey… You sound like good person who looks inward a bit too much!

I am looking inward to the Holy Spirit who is guiding me to the Church. I am also looking inward to the Holy Spirit as to how best to serve others. Should I stop looking?

Carry your Crosses with Grace and dignity, and without complaint!.. Bear all wrongs patiently, forgive all injuries and love your neighbor as you love yourself! (It’s not easy… But neither is dying on a Cross)

I do my best to so and ask for the grace always. “Not my will, but Yours…” This does not mean there should be an impression of a shoe on my head, that I should sit idly by, twiddling my thumbs and doing nothing to right a wrong. Or serve. You might be missing the point of my post. I do not know, of course; there’s only so much to go on. Waiting three months for just a phone call is patient. And an unnecessary wait.
And I do love. I pray for these people with prayers of love. They need some assistance.
There is nothing wrong with righting a wrong. With love and patience.

Thank you for your post. I welcome help and guidance.

Thank you I needed to hear that as much as cheezy since I am intending to go through the next RCIA course when it starts in my region and it seems so far away, and **cheezy was kind of placing doubt in my head and that I should go back to the easy Evangelical church I have been going to. **Sincerely thank you.

why? what did I do?! I have no issues of doubt regarding the The Church; just this one parish!

God wants you to be Catholic?! Go for it! I am !!:D:D:D

I think he was just responding to your frustration that the process in your particular parish wasn’t very efficient. I’m a catechist myself and i can tell you from experience that there is variability in the RCIA programs because of the individual circumstances of the people running them. Some are really outstanding, others not as good for a variety of reasons. Stick with it. I don’t know the particulars of your situation so I can’t comment on them with any real effect.

No you don’t .You don’t teach baptism of the HS as we do with it’s full giftings and speaking in tongues(though you allow the charismatic movement with neither a ye or ney) .
The disciples were already baptised when the Holy Spirit came on them at Pentecost, the Holy Spirit coming upon them was not their baptism, that had already happened. And the tongues spoken by the disciples at Pentecost were the languages of all nations. The point of Pentecost was that God’s Church on Earth should speak the languages of all nations to spread the Word to all men (as the Universal Church does). I intend no disrespect, but talking in some indecipherable way that is not the language of anyone on Earth would seem to have little merit or purpose.

Has anyone shared the following with you before?

2272 Note: “latae sententiae,”

The Church doesn’t have to send someone a letter. Excommunication is automatic. So iow, if a Catholic is guilty of abortion, or helps another to procure an abortion, they are authomatically excommunicated on the act. If they receive the Eucharist in this state of mortal sin, they compound their sin by commiting sacraledge on tiop of it.
p:
No, we are in the same boat where our Judeo Christian heritage is getting quite impotent in the western society-that is Catholic,Orthodox, Protestant alike- you in your unity and us in our disunity -makes no difference in this regard (abortion).
There’s only one boat, and no we are not in the same boat. Catholics who are faithful are in the boat. The unfaithful Catholics who are that way to their end won’t be in the boat at their end.

As far as the ones seperated from the Catholic Church, they are outside the boat to begin with

this is what I am trying to do, to the best of my abilities. I am not the one fightig this…
praying like you-know-what also…Have been all along…😉

I have, I do. Doing the very best I can.

Agreed. I have no problem with this. It takes 3 years, cycles, to go through the Bible once as a member of the Church, correct? Which means, in theory, I will be only 1/3 through the Bible teaching aspect of the RCIA, the only aspect of this RCIA, when I am allowed to be recognized as a Catholic. In essence, my education will be incomplete, but I’ll be recognized. (Not to mention, one’s religious education never ceases, so…) If my education is incomplete anyway, why can’t I be recognized sooner? Not immediately, but sooner? I arrived at this point with some understanding, otherwise, I wouldn’t be at this point at all. How many people go to a parish and say, “I want to be Catholic though I have NO idea what this church is all about?”
I have more than an idea. I need guidance to fulfill this…

I know, makes sense; not everyone has the time. But three months just to receive a call? Just for the inquiry?
This is wrong.
I had that first meeting over three months later. She gave me all the reasons why I shouldn’t join without asking me any pertinent questions, and finished with a very callous sounding, “Well, of course 2013 is a wash; you are much too late with it now…”
Again, I wasn’t; they were. Having stated that the schedule “kinda sorta” (her words) parallels the school year, of course, February is too late, she said. “But I started asking in November, closer to the start of the school year.” “Regardless, it is too late now.” Gave no options from there. None.
I missed the second meeting. (Emergency room overnight.) She called, I told her why I didn’t make it. “Well, now you just to follow up with so and so. It is out of my hands now…” (She is the RCIA director.) And she didn’t ask if I was alright. I really wasn’t. Part of my urgency…
Another priest, not of this parish, made a call. Within 48 hours, after deciding not to do this at this parish, I was called into a meeting, which ended up being the first class. Apparently that priest had called the Bishop’s office; this parish had been admonished. And February certainly does not parallel a school year. The other priest had mentioned earlier that I picked “the most disorganized parish in the diocese.” Apparently!

They still do not in any way make feel welcome.

Been reading the Catechism for over two years now.👍
Been attending Mass 2-3 times a week since asking in November. 👍
Been attending RCIA since March, four months after my first inquiry.👍

These people are members of the Church I wanted to join. They do NOT represent that which is The Church. Yet they do. They are in full communion and this is what they do with this blessing?
How do I jump ship without seeming like a RCIA shopper?!!
And there is that urgency; starting over… eek!
(My brother asked, was Baptized (again) and became, inside of 7 months…same parish.
???)

Thank for this onfo. May my library have it.
If God wants us all to be Catholic, good luck to me…
Wow! I guess you got a really good dose of humanity there. I too am glad you found someone to pick up the pieces. Gee whiz! Have you been baptized yet? I don’t understand the purpose in waiting for anything. Baptism in my opinion should be immediate. I am thinking of St. Philip and the Ethiopian in the book of Acts. He was reading Isaiah and when he encountered Philip asked for understanding of what he was reading. After Philip spent some time explaining, he wanted to know what prevented him from being baptized and Philip baptized him. I do not believe a year of RCIA should be a requirement for baptism. What if the person died before that happened?

I asked this, given that I am not well and was really wondering about a year. A LOT could happen in year.
I was told to wait til I get better, though they had no idea why or how I wasn’t well. I would have then asked “what if I don’t? death -bed conversion?” but the priest walked away.

I don’t understand the wait. I am not complaining, by the way, just really curious as to why the wait and why that question is danced upon. It’s not like this is about new upholstering for my chair.
I am baptized. But nor do I wish to be within a hair’s breadth of being in full communion only to die.
Does my baptism make a difference with the time schedule?
Thank you!!

Cheezey,

I hope you did not get the impression that I was looking for an argument. (I’m very impressed with the way you formatted your response… I wouldn’t have a clue as to how that was done!)

My intention was merely to point out how you are coming across. For example, in the description of your Faith you wrote… “Where am I, somebody help me!”

Forgive me, but that seems… Well, lets just say it would have been much more humble to simply write… Future Catholic.

If I am wrong about you, I am truly sorry!.. And if this RCIA Instructor and the people attending the class are as bad as you describe, do some research and find a good one. It might take more time, but it will be well worth it!

However, if this is a common occurrence for you, you might have look at things from a different angle.

Again, if I am wrong, forgive me… I’m just going by what you are writing.

Keep in mind, the obstacles in our lives might just be God’s way of exercising some of our weaker Spiritual muscles.

The question is, are we willing to accept the training?

It sounds like you are!
Good Luck and God Bless!
Chez

Are you, a Protestant, asking this of me, a Catholic?

Or are you confusing me, “Chez” with “Cheezey”

If you are asking this of me, “Chez”, a Catholic, be very careful!
I do not profess myself to be an Apologist!

One of my bigger weaknesses is lack of patients… Especially for Protestantism!

Please… For your sake, do not bandy Christian words and phrases about to Catholics as if they were invented 500 years ago!

You, my separated brother, have quite a bit of catching up to do! And I suggest you start by reading the writings of the early church fathers! Not to mention “ALL” of the Bible!

Please forgive my rudeness… I’m working on it!
Chez

It was apparently for "Cheezy’ not you Chez, hence I put “cheezy” on the post/sentence.Sorry

You did, however, give the impression (And forgive me if I am wrong), that one should not complain about wrong doing. **

thank you

My intention was merely to point out how you are coming across. For example, in the description of your Faith you wrote… “Where am I, somebody help me!”

It simply expresses that there are so many obstacles to get to where God is apparently sending me and this just shouldn’t be. I need help discerning. There is no problem asking for help. There is no option I can see to post a status of :banghead:
God is calling me to follow and I am that confused and frustrated that at the same time I cannot circumvent the stumbling blocks, be they mine or others’.

Forgive me, but that seems… Well, lets just say it would have been much more humble to simply write… Future Catholic.

**that would be lying, because I don’t know that I am a future Catholic anymore, what with all the challenges just getting to that point. And it’s not for lack of trying!!! **

If I am wrong about you, I am truly sorry!..

You are, and thank you.

And if this RCIA Instructor and the people attending the class are as bad as you describe, do some research and find a good one. It might take more time, but it will be well worth it!

**Agreed!! 😃 I am looking; not many choices, however. Admit it! It’s a shame that this one parish is as bad as it is, and yes, it is as bad as I have mentioned. All agree. It is why the Bishop’s office became involved. It ain’t just me. So, no; I didn’t appreciate the implication of “complaining.”
I never mentioned the students. There is no issue there. Especially now that it’s only me.😦 It is every clergy member, but one, who feels badly that he has no voice to advocate for me; and the RCIA director and whoever assists her. Who I think is no one. They have my sympathies that the Church is challenged at this time, but this is not my fault. They should have at least kept me informed, instead of leaving me to guess. I even offered to help from a secretary position! I am still waiting on that. Also from November. **

However, if this is a common occurrence for you, you might have look at things from a different angle.

Again, if I am wrong, forgive me… I’m just going by what you are writing.

Please understand that what is written is barely what is felt from the heart, which is splitting. As is my head.

Keep in mind, the obstacles in our lives might just be God’s way of exercising some of our weaker Spiritual muscles.

**I agree. Also keep in mind that sometimes it is just people not doing their job correctly and not caring whether they do or not. And there are many other obstacles. God led me to a place, the Church, to discern answers to those obstacles. What am I to do when the support needs support? When it seems I am now being led away? Thus, my location changed; especially when the instructor said something incredibly rude about my still current affiliation. I frustratingly couldn’t help but think that I am a Cathotant. 😛 I am truly in the middle! **

The question is, are we willing to accept the training?

**Yes. This is why I am tenacious. :onpatrol:

I am also dreadfully tired. Tired of guessing, tired of figuring this humanly alone. God is with me. He gave us each other to help each other and especially those in the ‘business’ of guiding through God’s love. This is where things break down a bit.

So you go to the best supplier of something you want and need sooo badly.
After much discussion of assurity that this supplier is the one from whom you wish to “do business” and/or make all your purchases, you have come to a decision.
You make that first purchase, it’s out of stock…
You wait and wait and wait…You really are patient and not complaining, just waiting and waiting…and waiting some more. You gently remind them with unresponsive calls and ask possibly when. Finally, you call and get a live person and you hear, “What? You placed an order? Hmmm” And nothing more is said. And so you feel it necesssary to go the home office.

Who would not make mention that this is a problem, especially if one has an idea as to how this could be better handled? Who would not consider changing suppliers if suggestions, not complaints, are not heard? But this one is the supposed best. Kinda puts you in the middle, what with all the other choices out there, the ones that are also calling you spiritually, just not quite as “loudly”, by the way.
I have received more help and support from the wonderful people at CAF than I have this parish.
That bodes well for CAF and it should. I love CAF!!! 👍 It is a true blessing!
What does this say of my parish, that I get more help, direction and spiritual guidance from a website?
And I doubt my confession would be heard here. :p:

And consider this:
When I mentioned the urgency of this, I was told, get this!!
“Well, there is always a death bed conversion.”

So, If God is calling me to be Catholic, please, I ask for prayers and continued help in this rather curcuitous journey. Please. and Thank you.**

There is spiritual wickedness in high places: ‘tax and spend, divide and conquer, and control and enslave’ and, it dates back to the Holy Roman Empire. At that time a Christian military unit – the Knights Templar, induced the Pope, the most influential person on earth, to use his power not only to subjugate commoners but also to subordinate all the kings and queens in Europe. Through fear of the Papal Inquisition and backed up by its crusading mercenary armies, this consolidation of power persisted for centuries and transformed into the basis for the international banking system, which, even today, continues unabated. By operating covertly to finance weapons and provoking warfare between nations, they secretly control the economy of the Earth. At the very tip of this pyramid of power, the Jesuits order – the Protectors of the Church, structured like an army and still with the mindset to regain for the Papacy what it had lost to the Reformation, conspire with the descendants of those aristocratic families – the cabal – by laundering their money through the Vatican Bank and thus hide their criminal agenda from world scrutiny.

I have no reason to lie: this is the history of the ‘Catholic’ Church.

Although there are many wonderful and loving human beings engaged with the Church, it is time to come clean, and if it truly God’s Church, I am certain, it will resurrect from its flames and become what God had intended for it to be: a benevolent force on earth.
