And at this point no one knows the truth so the article is pretty much useless.
The article is about the fake news that sprouted up surrounding Veslenitskaya.

“… at this point no one knows the truth…” But so many either pretend to, or write with reckless disregard for it,

No. But as I understand it she was allowed entry to work on major money-laundering case against a Russian citizen.

The Trump DoJ just settled the case for an amount so trivial even Veselnitskaya was surprised.
Yes, a money laundering case that had to do with odd investments in NY real estate.

230,000 settled for 6 million.

Does Buzzfeed explain why Veselnitskaya was still in the US. even though her VISA was denied?

p.s. I will read the article, even though I’m not inclined to read Buzzfeed.
Buzzfeed is a tabloid joke!

And … “the Russian lawyer” has been working with the Democrats for YEARS.
She was then able to entice DTJ into a meeting and he fell for it. And the father was going to reveal the “dirt” at an upcoming rally. Sounds plausible to me.

I’m convinced this was a set up, and she, I believe, had ties with Fusion GPS, the same company that was doing opposition research on Trump for the Hillary Campaign.
In all seriousness, to what end? If this was indeed a setup (a conspiracy theory for which there is no actual evidence), who is responsible? Why would they set up Donald Trump Jr…in a June of 2016 and sit on it through the election, and everything that has happened since, only to release it in July of 2017? And would this negate the seriousness of Mr. Trump Jr.'s lies and omissions about all of this?

Why assume a vast and illogical conspiracy when there are far simpler explanations?

The fact that the lead lawyer for the Russian money laundering case in New York was in this meeting with other Russians with ties to spying should be on focus here.

This was a trial that was investigated by Preet Bharara and was all set to go to trial and that public trial would have revealed how the Russian mafia used real estate in New York to wash their money would have been very embarrassing not only to Putin and Russia as it would show KGB ties to the mafia but potentially could show how the Russians may have dumped funds into Trump and Kushner’s real estate.

Some time after this Trump who had promised Preet Bharara that he would allow him to stay in his job after the election, specifically to wrap up his work on this case that had lasted for more than three years he changes his mind. He decided to fire him instead.

Then the lead witness in Russia was thrown out of a four story window.

Then mysteriously Trump’s Justice department decides instead to instead of pursuing this case into the public courts, to settle it with the Russians getting a much more favorable outcome.

This is what the press and Mueller need to focus their investigations on when it comes to what may have really happened in this meeting that Trump insists nothing came out of now.

What are these ties? Can your articulate them?

You may not like this source. But try to address the points made, in particular about the so-called ties.

Ok, I read most of article, and although I’ve never purported some of the “conspiracy theories” mentioned in the article, like bugging Trump Towers, I am suspicious about the nature of the meeting, and who Veselnitskaya is and how she was able to remain in the US despite having her Visa denied. I think she is crucial to this story because she either lied about who she was and the reasons for wanting the meeting with Donald Trump Jr.
for Russia or someone in the US who would benefit from this knowledge!! The other scenario is that someone in the inner circle of Trump Jr. betrayed Trump Jr, which I am not inclined to believe. All I can really say from what I’ve gathered and what my gut is telling me is that she is NO INNOCENT and not a credible person to be believed, i.e., she lied about herself in order to set the meeting up.

As for Fusion GPS, well, I never stated that they set up the meeting with Veselnitskaya and Trump’s inner circle, but there are links between her and Fusion GPS, and it is my belief that that link put her in the path of people in the Hillary Campaign, because as you well know, Fusion GPS was working for them in order to do opposition research on Trump. Also, it was Fusion GPS that used that fake RUSSIAN dossier and spread that misinformation to Democrats and Media:
Some Democrats have widely circulated the discredited information. Mr. Steele was paid by the Democrat-funded opposition research firm Fusion GPS with money from a Hillary Clinton backer. Fusion GPS distributed the dossier among Democrats and journalists. The information fell into the hands of the FBI, which used it in part to investigate Mr. Trump’s campaign aides.
Mr. Steele makes clear that his unproven charges came almost exclusively from sources linked to the Kremlin and Russian President Vladimir Putin. He identified his sources as “a senior Russian Foreign Ministry figure,” a former “top level Russian intelligence officer active inside the Kremlin,” a “senior Kremlin official” and a “senior Russian government official.”
Not sure how credible Fusion GPS is, or how naive, take your pick???

Perhaps. But what facts in the linked article do you dispute?
Or is just a matter of your sense of humor: a preference for jokes like Cernovich?
Honestly,I just for the first time today, followed a link on buzzfeed, unrelated to anything Trump. This was an article profiling a couple of " parents’ celebrating their young son being gender neutral, waving a rainbow flag with makeup on.The resultant comments by a certain conservative celebrity and the hero worshipping of Doogie Houser in his response, told me everything I need to know about Buzzfeed. However,I digress, back to the thread topic.

No one accused Buzzfeed of being the Washington Post!..The article did make a few good points to consider.

Because I believe that Veselnitskaya is a key player in all this, and once we get to the bottom of who she is and what she’s about, well, then, you’ll have your answers.

p.s. I’m not denying that Trump Jr. went to the meeting or stating that the emails are false, but why is it that Trump Jr. and his inner circle BELIEVED she was some sort of Russian government official and that she had dirt of Clinton. They got this information from her (most logical conclusion), which means she lied.

p.p.s. Please read post #486.

Respectfully, do you realize how outlandish and illogical all of this sounds?

I agree. She is probably a spy. And thre is more to this intrigue than we know. So at this point the defense s to spread fog.

But the tie seems less substantive and more Kevin Bacon. Maybe. The money laundering and the Cyprus bank, these keep coming up.
It’s a possibility dvdjs, but who is she really working for or helping out, or are there two parties that can gain something from this?? This is an important question, i.e., who is benefiting from this particular set up? Is it benefiting Trump ? No, it isn’t. Is it benefiting Russia? Possibly, but in what way? Moreover, if the media narrative is correct, that Russia was acting in collusion with Trump so he could win the election then how do you explain Veselnitskaya, if she really is a spy? That meeting only hurt Trump and there was nothing, furthermore, gained from that meeting. No, there are no ties between Russia and Trump, as this meeting would attest, because this meeting was set up to hurt Trump.

p.s. Sorry, I don’t know much about the Cyprus bank and money laundering, vaguely, anyways.

Just because something sounds outlandish, does not make it untrue or impossible, fact is stranger than fiction as they say.

p.s. And think of all the Communists that infiltrated many institutions in the U.S., and recall, how people in those times (including the media), thought this was outlandish too? But they were proved right, when Communism fell, and the Russian archives were opened?

Dvdjs, here’s a recent article about Fusion GPS from the Washington Times:
Operative who commissioned anti-Trump dossier to testify next week before Congress
The founder of the Washington political opposition-research firm that commissioned the anti-Donald Trump dossier will testify next Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Glenn Simpson, one of the Russian election-meddling saga’s most mysterious and sought-after characters, will answers questions from a committee that has pressed for his appearance since early this spring.
In 2015, Mr. Simpson’s firm, Fusion GPS, hired former British intelligence agent commissioned Christopher Steele to compile opposition research on then-candidate Trump. For months Mr. Steele’s salacious 35-page dossier of unverified information was cited by Democrats as the reason for a special commission to investigate Mr. Trump and his aides for a supposed role in Russia’s hacking of Democratic Party email servers.
Three men — Mr. Trump’s attorney, a campaign volunteer and a tech company CEO — have publicly said the parts about them in the dossier are fiction. A Russian diplomat whom Mr. Steele accused of wrongdoing also called the dossier a fantasy.
Mr. Simpson, who founded Fusion GPS in 2009, worked previously for Roll Call newspaper and the Wall Street Journal.
Iowa Sen. Charles E. Grassley, chairman of the Judiciary committee, was the driving force behind securing Mr. Simpson’s testimony. Thus far, Fusion GPS has refused to disclose the identity of political clients who financed the anti-Trump dossier — a line of questioning likely to cause major sparks to fly next week.
On Wednesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is scheduled to explore enforcement of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, will also hear testimony from British-American businessman Bill Browder.
Mr. Browder has called Mr. Simpson a “professional smear campaigner.”
Before the Trump dossier, Fusion GP worked on efforts to repeal the Magnitsky Act, a law enacted by the Obama administration in 2012 to punish Russian officials responsible for the death of Russian lawyer and whistleblower Sergei Magnitsky in a Moscow prison in 2009.
Magnitsky served as an attorney for Mr. Browder.
Mr. Grassley also said this week that he wants to hear testimony from former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, who is not currently on Wednesday’s witness list.
Mr. Grassley told CNN Thursday the committee has also requested Donald Trump Jr. testify before the committee.
News in Washington this week was dominated by revelations that the younger Mr. Trump met with a Russian lawyer while his father campaigned for the presidency. He said he met with the lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, because he thought she had negative information to divulge about his father’s opponent, Hillary Clinton.
Mr. Trump said that instead of discussing Ms. Clinton, Ms. Veselnitskaya instead discussed the Magnitsky Act.
It is not publicly known if Ms. Veselnitskaya had any interactions with Fusion GPS.
Now, there’s your link, i.e., both worked to repeal the Magnitsky Act. It doesn’t seem so impossible now, does it??
