Donald Trump leads Walker, Bush in Fox national poll

Donald Trump leads all Republican presidential candidates for the GOP primary, according to a new Fox national poll of registered voters released Thursday.

Eighteen percent of GOP voters said they supported Trump, up 7 percent from last month and 15 percent from March.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker came in second at 15 percent, just 1 percentage point ahead of former Florida governor Jeb Bush.

Fox News has said that the top 10 contenders in an average of credible, recent national polls will be invited to participate in the first Republican primary debate, and lower-tier candidates are nervously watching their numbers ahead of the Aug. 6 event.

I think the 10 in the August debate will be:

Trump
Walker
Bush
Carson
Rubio
Paul
Cruz
Huckabee
Perry
Fiorina

I like Rick Santorum, I am sorry in this field, he seems to be an odd-man out along with Jindal. I heard Gov. Kasich speak and I really thought he knew what he was talking about but as of now, I think it will be difficult for him to make this first debate.

Though the polls are not showing Carly doing very well, I do understand, she is getting some momentum and I think it will carry her into the 1st debate. Not sure if I fully agree with her views but we will see.

I don’t mean to give discouraging news, as I said, I heard Kasich speak, he could well be one of the best nominees out there with real foreign policy experience. It is a shame when some don’t have the name recognition. I also found out that Governor Christie as a prosecutor tried and convicted terrorists, so he is sharp in foreign policy as well, hearing him speak.

I just don’t care for him.

I’m going back and forth between Paul and Carson at the moment.

That is quite literally the only thing Trump has going for him. (Well, along hyperbolic arrogance and mysteriously luxuriant hair). There are a lot of candidates in which I could find something to like. Sadly Trump isn’t one of them…
 
Surely this is a joke? Donald Trump??? This guy is infamous for his arrogant buffonary even in Scotland where he has built numerous luxury golf courses in the Highlands. He does not strike me as Presidential material.

Rubio and Christie appeal to me the most.

Any man who is best known for building a casino that LOST money is not fit to manage a country’s finances.

Any man who rails against immigrants when 2 out of his last 3 spouses are immigrants is also a hypocrite.

Unfortunately, he epitomizes what many Republicans have said they want over the last few years. He talks tough, he never admits that he is wrong, he sees everything in simple terms of he is right and the rest of the world is wrong.

He may be seen as a caricature, but like most caricatures, he is only exaggerating what some think are the most important features.

The GOP does it, yet again. Not a single galvanizing name on the list.

Will the Republicans ever get their act together?

Hard line right wingers (or for that matter, left wingers) do not elect Presidents…moderate centrists do. Democratic presidential victory is not the result of that parties ability to nominate a great candidate, its the result of the Republicans continually nominating the worst.

Obama has been a disappointment, and after 8 years the GOP should have an easy time of winning the White House, but I fear all they will accomplish (again), is to snatch defeat out of the jaws of certain victory!

In all fairness, he rallies against illegal immigrants. I am a child of immigrants and did not take offense with his rhetoric.

What exactly is GOP doing that bothers you? This is what a vibrant democracy looks like, multiple candidates with multiple views. Compare the GOP field with the Democrat field and tell me which party is really the vibrant, inclusive party

Spot on. Tragically, he and his administration are getting away with doing a lot of harm to the country and her people and the media, progressives, liberals and others (some Republicans) constantly aid and abet them and their agenda at every turn. They likely will rewrite history so that his legacy won’t be tarnished with the reality of his tragic errors and ideology.

Things could change, but unfortunately, with the way things are looking, my vote will not so much be FOR someone, but AGAINST someone. I talked to a friend yesterday who indicated that if Bush ends up being our guy, she wouldn’t vote. I told her that I hoped she changed her mind, that she holds her nose and votes for Bush if he turns out to be the candidate, rather than chooses not to vote at all since that will, in effect, be a vote for Hillary (or Sanders or whoever). I reminded her that people felt that way about Romney (and McCain before him) and didn’t vote at all during the past two Presidential elections and look at the surreal results of those elections. I was stunned (and still am) that Obama could be elected twice. The first time was a bit more understandable, historic election, and all, blah, blah, blah, but after seeing his “leadership”, I thought people would wake up. I felt like I was living in Bizarro world when I learned he was elected yet again. I still feel like a stranger living in a strange land most of the time now…
