By this time next week everyone but the Hillary die hards will have forgotten about it and the focus will be back on how crooked and corrupt Hillary is and when the FBI indictment will come down
I don’t think that the spotlight is going to go back to Hillary any time soon because Trump is going to keep making new offensive comments that will dominate the headlines. I think that he just can’t help himself because he can’t hold his tongue when he should.

Precisely. The idea that the Trump problem will ‘go away’ is delusional wishful thinking. While i said in my previous post that Trump is terrifying, fortunately he will lose big in November. And destroy the Republican Party in the process.

"DONALD J. TRUMP STATEMENT REGARDING TRUMP UNIVERSITY

It is unfortunate that my comments have been misconstrued as a categorical attack against people of Mexican heritage. I am friends with and employ thousands of people of Mexican and Hispanic descent. The American justice system relies on fair and impartial judges. All judges should be held to that standard. I do not feel that one’s heritage makes them incapable of being impartial, but, based on the rulings that I have received in the Trump University civil case, I feel justified in questioning whether I am receiving a fair trial.

Over the past few weeks, I have watched as the media has reported one inaccuracy after another concerning the ongoing litigation involving Trump University. There are several important facts the public should know and that the media has failed to report."

"While this lawsuit should have been dismissed, it is now scheduled for trial in November. I do not intend to comment on this matter any further. "

He’s sorry that his attack on the people of Mexican heritage was construed as an attack on people of Mexican heritage? Then he said that the judge isn’t being fair, so can you really blame him for attacking the judge for his Mexican heritage.

Well, I’m sure that’s good enough for his supporters.

Hillary didn’t become more favorable nor trustworthy this week. She merely missed this weeks usual thrashing, but careful its early in the week still. 🙂

Trump is new to this, whats her excuse? Its good for Trump to workout these minor issues for the next month while the Democrats work on the DNC and Hillary corruption. I hear they now called Bernie a sexist because he won’t leave. Typical name calling by the Demos, racism, sexism, its in there playbook. Bernie said there is nothing to concede.

So with Hillary Clinton it’s “bad taste” according to you and “a couple of mistakes” - and it may be, but I’m curious if Trump had said the same things as her whether you’d be saying the same. I’ve seen various sources today from the political Left who have been very critical of the way the Clinton campaign handled race issues in 2008 and very critical of things Hillary Clinton has herself said.
I am confident that Catholics can distinguish the difference between jokes in bad taste and racism. I am glad that those who offer those personal interpretation of Church teaching to be Church teaching are so steadfastly in support of Donald Trump’s point of view on this issue so that lurkers and newcomers can clearly see how much weight to give on their opinion on these matters.

Do you think this makes everything better? I don’t blame him for not commenting further, though, considering the reaction to his statement.
I just wonder if he will be able to not respond when others don’t drop it.

It appears that he is trying to lose. Many Republican pundits are of that opinion; I have to agree. But he is taking the Republican Party out in the process. It’s diabolical. Best thing that ever happened to Hillary.

It quite seems that way.

Why Trump’s Assault on the Judiciary Is the Most Dangerous Thing He’s Done

From the article (emphasis added):

*We should heed closely what Donald Trump has been saying about U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel of San Diego—perhaps more so than anything else he has said or done to date. The prospect that a President Trump might defy the judiciary and the rule of law, together with his vows to violate international treaties and his disrespect for domestic laws, may make him the most dangerous candidate in American history.

…]

But mostly what we should deplore—and fear—is this: Such a brazen presidential attack on the rule of law, by a man of such a belligerent temperament and crude sensibility, could portend defiance of court orders by a President Trump.

And that in turn would be a long step toward authoritarian rule.

I write this not as an anti-Republican partisan but as a longtime critic of Hillary Clinton’s dishonesty and of the judicial system’s drift toward politicization—and as one who would much rather see more divided government than the blowout of congressional Republicans that they will deserve if they stick with Trump.

There is no avoiding the truth: Trump has become ever more contemptuous of our constitutional traditions, especially the separation of powers and the freedom of speech. He has been more demagogic in trashing the judicial system than any president or major-party nominee in history.

I see you and I raise you:

“Overlooking terrorism that killed Americans, including the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, Donald Trump sought investment partnerships with Muammar al-Qaddafi and the Libyan regime. He invited the dictator to rent his Westchester estate, tried to set up a face-to-face meeting, and took the Libyan ambassador on a golf junket………

Trump’s courtship of Qaddafi highlights the Republican presidential candidate’s willingness to seek favorable business deals — even if they require him to cooperate with unsavory figures.”

Where does it end?

So sad.

Whether or not he’s sexist in the business world, I’m surprised he has a lot of support on CAF considering his history with women in his personal life: three marriages, affairs, divorces…I know we’re not electing a pope, but…
That fascinates me too. Especially when the woman he will run against worked hard to keep her marriage vows intact even after public infidelities.

But I have come to realize that most people here who will vote for Trump are truly just anti-Clinton. And that’s fine - each individual gets to vote his/her conscience which is as it should be. Christians can, in good faith, reach different conclusions about who is the best person for the job during elections.

Its not a conspiracy. The Democrat elite has things set up so they pick the nominee if the people dont vote the way they want to. Hillary will clinch the nominee tomorrow only because this elite committed to her before the first vote was cast. But as i said the Liberal elite has never been comfortable with the people making the choice-thats why they set things up the way they did. The rank and file of the Democrat Party accepts this-possibly because they prefer their “betters” tyo make such decisions.
The "elite’ Super Delegates switched their votes from Hillary to Obama right quick in 2008 when it became clear that Obama was winning the popular vote and the delegate vote. They would do the same thing this year IF Sanders were ahead in popular and delegate counts. Alas, Sanders is WAY behind in both.

Everyone has known the Party rules for years. I find it more than a little nuts that Sanders now wants the Super Delegates he has been disparaging for months to switch over to him when he is so far behind (and as of last night, done) with the people and the delegates. Good grief - such nonsense!

Congratulations to Hillary Clinton, our next President!

I find it odd that Trump suggested that the judge is biased against him because Trump wants to build a wall and the judge is of Mexican background and then say the following, “I’m doing very well with Latinos, with the Hispanics, with Mexicans. I’m doing very well with them, in my opinion.” So since Judge Curiel has never said anything to the contrary or said anything about Trump’s wall proposal, how does Trump know that the judge isn’t one of those many Hispanics who Trump claims are his supporters? He could still like Trump on a personal level and rule against him in court as a matter of law.
I find most of what Mr. Trump says very odd. I’ve truly given up trying to figure out what the heck he actually believes about anything.

Mr. Trump made his first endorsement this campaign season for Rep. Rene Ellmers of North Carolina and she’s getting clobbered, coming in third.

Thanks for the alert. From The Guardian:

*Johnson announced that he was changing his registration to No Party after Trump levelled accusations of bias at Judge Gonzalo Curiel, an American judge of Mexican heritage who allowed the release of some unflattering documents from a case against Trump University.

“I haven’t supported Mr Trump at any point along the way but what I am calling his racist remarks and judicial jihad is the last straw,” Johnson told the Guardian.

Johnson compared Trump’s run for the Republican nomination to the rise of Hitler and said Trump won “by reducing his campaign to reality TV and large crowds and divisive language and all the trappings of a good show for those who like that kind of approach, and that’s what happened in the 1930s in Germany”.

He added: “I think that’s all I need to say, but certainly the fascists took control of Germany under the same types of strategies.”

Johnson also condemned Trump’s proposed ban on Muslims entering the US. Referencing his own father, who was in the first American unit to liberate a Nazi prison camp, Johnson said: “I was raised without hearing any racial slur, any racial epithet. It’s something that if we’re going to exclude Muslims from traveling to the United States, who’s next? Are we going to come down on Jews? … He’s not fit to be president.”

Johnson also expressed his concern that there was “definitely an innate bigotry” among a large share of Trump voters. “It really hurts for me to say that, but it’s true,” he said.

The former Republican was still hopeful that the GOP would “dump Trump” at the convention in Cleveland.

“I want to be among those in the party who are willing to live up to Republican principles,” Johnson said.*

Right on, Mr. Johnson!

Trump is the American Hitler. Hope he never comes to power. He is terrifying, and it is terrifying that Catholics here support him. It’s insane, and very, very disappointing.
Johnson had the pants to say enough is enough.

The right wing will blast him.

Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh are probably ripping him apart as we speak.

I think the reason why they support him is bc he is a “republican”. To them he could of killed millions of individuals, but since he’s a republican, he’s a good man.
