I frankly doubt that’s what those Repubs are thinking. Not only is Trump not a member of their “club”, he is soon to be the titular leader of the party. Now, what is that going to mean for them? Will he try to move the party away from some of their most treasured (and unsaleable) uber-nuanced conservative ideas? Will he replace the party functionaries? Worst of all, will he invite different people to the high-end Repub get togethers at the best watering holes?
I think if I was one of the party eminences, I would be thinking about that too. Ed Rollin, though, seems to have decided it best to join with Trump than fight him.
