And yet he clinched nomination much quick than Hillary Clinton who only had one opponent for months . I hope that the left keeps pushing this Hillary is going to win easy scenario because I suspect that means a lot of liberals will stay home thinking Hillary will win anyway and they don’t need to sully their hands by voting for her.

I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I would say that the more nasty attacks Trump made against candidates that I like, such as Fiorina, Rubio, and Cruz, the more confident I felt in my opinion of them.

Hillary Clinton won 55% of the voters in the Democratic campaign.

Donald Trump 45% in the Republican. In some places he won with 30-35% of the vote.

And time will tell. But I won’t be surprised if long lines of voters whom Donald Trump has alienated turn out in swing states such as FL and others where the electorate is more of a composite of an American Presidential yr general election electorate than say some others might be. Of course in states where Republicans gained control in midterm elections when a lot of these voters don’t vote, they will have to allow the votes to be counted.

Donald Trump was up against 16 other candidates! Hillary Clinton was up against two others, wasn’t it? And for most of the race it was between her and Bernie Sanders. It is a much more significant achievement for Trump to get the percentage he got when he was up against that many candidates, don’t you agree?

No I really don’t. Because to me Bernie ran a stronger campaign than many of the Republicans appeared to run against Trump. And winning with such low percentages earlier on isn’t something I consider significant. We’ll never know of course but I would have liked to seen the outcome had it been Trump one on one in the primaries for the most part too.

When the field narrowed down he refused to debate. In my opinion, that would have been the most important debate for voters. I actually felt informed after the democratic debates. I really don’t care who is short, or ugly, or has small hands.
 
Trump spoke about overturning the Johnson Amendment today. Wouldn’t that also force taxes on churches?
 
Governor Pence and his predecessor, Mitch Daniels were strong on lower taxes, cutting spending, defunding Planned Parenthood, school choice, and targeting infrastructure in a way that makes sense. All of those would be great to introduce on a national level. It is a shame the current administration has done its best to block all of the above in other states, especially when we share a long border with by former state, Illinois, which has suffered so much for doing none of those things.

Trump was very clever. He knew that every single network was covering his announcement of vice president so we gave a 30 minute campaign speech and then introduce Pence. He is the master of getting free airtime

I have no doubts that Trump would rather win the general than lose it, but I seldom get the impression that he is making that a top priority.

True, but he still won according to the established rules. The unfortunate thing is that, prior to winning, he called the rules a “rigged system”.
