Really? All five of them? That’s amazing!!!
I don’t think we should underestimate these people…

The number of outspoken white supremacists might not be that high, but sympathizers probably exist in greater numbers than we think…(Of course I hope I’m wrong)

Internet = Anonymity and ability to be vicious

So is Pope Francis misinformed or are we not seeing the truth of man-made global environmental changes?
I’m sure our Holy Father wants us all to be good stewards of our environment. This is reasonable and good. I’m sure he wouldn’t want the following to happen:

“This is about money and power,” Singer told The New American in an interview, adding that governments had purchased the cooperation of many scientists on climate alarmism. “Science plays a small role, and mostly it’s being misused.” “It’s a matter of really trying to control things,” Singer said, noting that control of CO2 means control of economies and ultimately, people. What is being plotted right now at the nearby UN COP21 summit, he added, is a “direct subsidy to kleptocracies,” which are pocketing the climate loot and hiding it in their bank accounts. “It’s a matter of the poor in rich countries supporting the rich in the poor countries,” Singer concluded.

Kleptocracy: “government by those who seek chiefly status and personal gain at the expense of the governed”.

Congress being the House and the filibuster-proof Senate. At least recognize the real limitations involved in doing anything legislatively.

I hear you, brother. But, “the real limitations involved in doing anything legislatively” in order to implement those items of Trump’s agenda which are legislatively-dependent are limitations based on Senate rules. Those rules are subject to the constitutional (i.e., nuclear) option which allows the Senate to override a rule or precedent by majority vote.

Republicans are the majority without any more excuses of , “Oh, golly gee wiz we can’t do what we promised the electorate because we don’t have the other chamber”, and later, “Oh, we now have been given the other chamber and control the entire Congress, but we don’t have the White House, so we still can’t keep our promises”.

Moreover, Senator Mitch McConnel can either go along with the wishes of the majority of his majority party, and the President in his powerful honeymoon period, and the righteously angry mood of the American people (who have been lied to and cheated since 2008) or be shamed and lose his job and whatever remains of his legacy.

So, will you agree at least that it’s not impossible? If the Party of Death were in control of the Congress and White House there would be no rules limiting their march to “Democratic” Socialism.

I live in a red state. I voted for trump. Most of the people around me did as well. Not one had an endorsement by the kkk play into our decision. I can proudly say I don’t know a single person that made the decision based on that.

They are also contributing to killing people well on into the future, since climate change (if we don’t drastically mitigate it as Pope Francis admonishes us to do) can last for over 100,000 years, continuing to kill people, assuming there are any left kill after the first few centuries or millennia. That’s what we’re busy as bees tipping into right now. There isn’t much time left to steer the “Titanic” away from grave harms to humanity and God’s good creation (He pronounced it “good” by the way).
Is this your professional scientific opinion?

Bingo!!!Its just silly to even suggest such a thing. Those five Klansmen had no influence

Well if you want to stop climate change, you better stop the seasons!!!😉

David Duke, who formerly led the KKK as its “Grand Wizard”, celebrated Mr Trumps election: “This is one of the most exciting nights of my life,” Mr Duke wrote.

“Make no mistake about it, our people have played a huge role in electing Trump!”

You understand this is a guilt by association fallacy, don’t you? For example, if a child molester supports a candidate, he can claim all day that he had a huge role in getting the person elected.

I only say this because your previous points were well considered, pointing out areas in which Donald Trump will go against my faith and morals, and those which the USCCB (or the Pope) has been teaching the Church. On the other hand, once he tries to act on these, he could conceivable weigh moral ramifications and temper some of his goals.

Pope Francis has denounced “politics of fear”.

One might do well to recognize that climate change in politics is specifically engineered to exude power by fear.

It’s as emotionally manipulative as a Sarah mclachlan commercial.

Seems like the only way to remain charitable for next next few weeks is to not comment at all! Let’s wait until Trump takes office at least. Both sides need to relearn the art of COMPROMISE!
This is something that America needs to learn. We are a divided house. Switching back and forth with absolutism every few years will not make America great. If I were a betting man, I would bet a Trump presidency will leave our bond rating lower over the next four years. What he proposes does not lead to greatness. Greatness will be measured in terms of whether he can unite us, and that takes compromise. Obama sucked at this. I suspect Trump will to. I know Hillary did. She is the one that said instead of thinking of politics as the art of the possible, it needed to be the art of making what appears impossible, possible. That type of thinking will always rouse one’s base for you, and the rest of the country against you.

I think Obamacare will be the first test. If it is repealed and scrapped, he is no better than his steam-rolling predecessor. If he can find a way to lose the worst of it while fixing some of it, he will not please all Republicans, though he shouldn’t displease them either, too much.

I’m skeptical about climate change as well, at least as far as human influence on it, but this does not “score the point” you may think, because climate and weather are not the same thing.

I don’t like fighting bad science, math, logic, or philosophy, with opposing but equally bad science, math, logic, or philosophy. Even on Internet forums. 😃

First, absolutely, positively he has been misinformed about man-made climate change. Here is how:

climatedepot.com/2015/09/24/special-report-unholy-alliance-exposing-the-radicals-advising-pope-francis-on-climate/

And this:

catholicculture.org/commentary/otn.cfm?id=1092

And don’t forget what he actually said in LAUDATO SI’ :

“188. There are certain environmental issues where it is not easy to achieve a broad consensus. ** Here I would state once more that the Church does not presume to settle scientific questions or to replace politics.** But I am concerned to encourage an honest and open debate so that particular interests or ideologies will not prejudice the common good.”

Now, I will grant you this: Pope Francis has a great big heart which sometimes tends to make him a tad gullible regarding issues touching on God’s beautiful earth and the poor and his suffering children in irregular marriages.

But he is conscious of his responsibility to preserve doctrine, so he always leaves wiggle room when he gives his opinion on a hot topic. If you study LAUDATO SI’ you will note that he shoots down the political tax fraud (my term) that money will solve the problem.

Tell us about plan for fixing Obamacare.

Amen!!! Climate Change is nowhere near a scientific consensus!!!

He’s absolutely correct on the fact that poverty in the world is more than quantitative. Certainly in the developed world it’s entirely qualitative…more money isn’t gonna solve anything as $22T in Great Society spending hasn’t done anything but made the spiritual and family dynamics exponentially worse.

As to the first part, I think his papacy has been unfortunate in terms of opportunists who put politics before faith remaining in the Church and misleading the faithful. I want to get on to the Church that Pope Benedict described: smaller but infinitely more faithful.

Pelosi, Biden, Kaine and several people here have exploited the purposeful ambiguity of this papacy for political purposes and in an attempt to drive the faithful out of the Church. It’s unfortunate that so many Catholics worry about what others think instead of the truth and that they’ve taken Pope Francis’s simple goodness and turned into a way to drive an agenda and pretend that this is a popularity contest. The Church is to save souls through the light of truth, not to win Twitter followers and the approval of celebrities who think Pope Francis is cool.
