Did anybody read his profile? He’s 15 years old, for crying out loud!
Hello FL;Hey guys just decided to check in after awhile I posted this just to see how annoyed you guys would get about this, not all fo you but alot of you need to chill out and think about some things. One comment I saw was why be moral and why not be racist homophobic and an animal killer if there is no moral code? Well I say that were all products of evolution and it is ethics that has been put into our DNA code to help us survive, but if you need some sort of goody bag or treat(heaven) to be moral thats just sad and kind of inhumane. We are all related to animals in my opinion of evolution so we are like family just distant and ther just trying to survive like you or me, Maybe to express this in your terms I could say that it is one of Gods creatures just like you and you should respect gods creations.Racism is just stupid because were all the same species just slightly differing DNA black to white is the same as black hair or blonde it really is irrelevant.

I am not sure waht you mean…But Hitler did, he just redefined who was Human. Is the rest of this addressed to me?

Agreed. My point is this: Unless a 15 year year old is unusually perceptive, and has been taught by parents with properly formed consciences, usually they have no clue as to what is right, especially if they have been uncritically exposed to the secular media or the public education system. They have no way to make any kind of critical decision as to rightness or wrongness. Consequently, they make many mistakes and make many bad choices. As Will Rogers said: “Good judgement comes with experience, but experience usually comes from bad judgement”.

Thank you we are not clueless. I was raised catholic trust me I still go to CCD because my family would kill me if I said i was an atheist, I go to church every sunday( or sometimes the 4:00 mass on saturday) I use to be a believer until about age 13 when i started to question the catholic church and why there was different sects in Christianity(Baptist,Methodist ect…) so I just looked into other religions and realized there was no more evidence for one religion over another, at that point i was looking into the Baha’i Faith, but it still didnt solve alot of questions about religion for me. I looked into Buddhism but that was not for me. Then I became an agnostic ( not fulling rejecting religion because I still had that brainwashed fear of a hell)Then the more I got into science I realized that Atheism really is the most realistic, rational and most reasonable of all ideas instead of religion. I now happily instead of religion worry about politics, the universe and thigns like quantum mechanics, and trying to work towards a goal of saving wildlife because of the worlds degrading biodiversity of animals, plants, fungi ect…well… i didn’t read his profile… don’t have time to read all of them… but so waht? Even 15 yr olds have thoughts about the afterlife and God and all that… They aren’t totally clue-less, even though they do, as you imply, have a lot to learn…
The most clue-less of all 15 yr olds arethe ones who aren’t taught the Faith… I fit into that category… I ws much older by the time i learned the true teachings of the Church… after i made all the mistakes an uncatechized person usually makes… messed up my life & the lives of others… but o well… better late than never…
We have to teach the Catholic faith - to everyone. It is the most important job we have in life…
You’ve come to the right place! Stick around a while.Thank you we are not clueless. thats just it. many many atheists have many many different beliefs about things, there is no real set of beliefs or rules other than not believing in god. in short, atheism is just a group of angry outcasts who are full of themselves. This fascinates me. If God is not real, then there is no such thing as objective morality. So wh would an atheist oppose racism, homophobia, animal cruelty, or anything else? Without an Author of a moral code, then there is no good or evil, just a bunch of stuff that happens — racism would be just as good as racial equality, homophobia would be just as good as gay rights, animal cruelty would be just as good as vegetarianism.
To be consistent, an atheist should say, “Do whatever you want – be racist, be homophobic, abuse animals, because nothing matters.”
So right away I’m seeing at least two mistakes right off the bat.
These things hopefully will become clearer to you when you get older. try not to make any terminal mistakes, either physical or spiritual, until that happens.
- You ARE clueless.
- You are deceiving your parents.
- You are trading Truth for speculation.
- If you rely on the Religion of Science, you will be ultimately disappointed. Scientific theories that were valid only a few years ago have been revised or discredited.
- Niether politics, nor quantum mechanics, nor “saving” wildlife will save your soul or bring you happiness.
- The standard “liberal” agenda counts for nothing, because it is ultimately self-serving.
- So-called “liberalism” has brought more misery to the world that any other ideology, witness the "liberals’ failure to rein in both Hitler and Stalin, being made culpable for the deaths of millions and the destruction of much of the world.
- Remember the definition of “Liberal,” This is a man who is too lazy to make a commitment to anything.
- Homosexuality and homosexuals are sinful and wrong. There is no excuse or justification for their actions or “lifestyle.” They need to repent or remain celibate. Full stop.
- Plants and animals are placed on the earth for our use. That includes meat and fur. Sorry. We are obliged to be good stewards and we must not be guilty of cruelty, beyond that which is needed to harvest.
well, according to him he did. apparently, we evolved until we had ethics, which give us a sense of right or wrong. i don’t get it but whatever. He still hasn’t answered the question:If there is no God, if we’re just the result of random chance, how can there be any right or wrong?

There is tons of evidence that the Catholic Church alone possesses the fullness of truth.Thank you we are not clueless. If you objectively search for the truth you will return to Catholicism in the end, of that I have no doubt.

I agree.I am not sure waht you mean…
I am just trying to make the point that there is subjective truth and there is objective truth… Jesus is objective truth Incarnate… the Word of God made flesh…
Anything that is not in line with Jesus’ Way/Truth/Life is a lie from the devil… whether anyone wants to call it that or not.
Hitler chose against Christ early in his life… then he got power and fame and $ and couldn’t let go of it… and went againt his conscience so many times, he finally didn’t have one…
That is why we need the Church… The Church gives us the tools (the power) to overcome the devil. Jesus said that ONLY the Church has this power over Satan (St. matthew 16:18)… Hitler left teh Catholic faith (although he never really embraced it in the first place…i don’t know that he ever went to Mass while growing up)… "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man but the ways thereof are the ways of death… "
Only the Church… has power over the gates of Hell…

May I ask a question? You describe here hiding your atheism from your parents. Yet your signature line announces that you are a “Proud Atheist.” Don’t these statements conflict? Why would you hide from your parents something about which you are “proud”?Thank you we are not clueless. Wait a second… when you had a question about the Catholic Church you abandon it and search other ideologies??? At least look into your faith and learn why we believe what we believe as Catholics before making your decision… and I’m not just talking about CCD classes either… from what I have seen, a person’s Catholic faith should not be based entirely on CCD classes taken once a week … take the initiative and research the faith thoroughly before rejecting it (and if you truly come to know what the Catholic faith is about, you would grow to love and appreciate it for all the treasures it has). If you made your decision at 13 then I highly doubt that you knew as much about the faith as you seem to imply. I am also in high school right now and I know for sure that I have yet to learn more about my faith. That’s what we are in the forums for (well… at least most of usThank you we are not clueless. I was raised catholic trust me I still go to CCD because my family would kill me if I said i was an atheist, I go to church every sunday( or sometimes the 4:00 mass on saturday) I use to be a believer until about age 13 when i started to question the catholic church and why there was different sects in Christianity(Baptist,Methodist ect…) so I just looked into other religions and realized there was no more evidence for one religion over another,
Unless you think that our entire universe coming out of nothingness is possible, it is difficult to see how that could be the most “realistic rational and most reasonable of all ideas.”Then I became an agnostic ( not fulling rejecting religion because I still had that brainwashed fear of a hell)Then the more I got into science I realized that Atheism really is the most realistic, rational and most reasonable of all ideas instead of religion.
You must have a very troubled mind the way things are going in our nation then…I now happily instead of religion worry about politics,
the universe and thigns like quantum mechanics
How does your concern for creation deter you from the one true faith? If anything, the faith actually makes me more aware and eager to care for creation because I realize that God gave us this earth as a gift and we must in turn be responsible and protect it., and trying to work towards a goal of saving wildlife because of the worlds degrading biodiversity of animals, plants, fungi ect

i don’t understand this post (or i should say… the post Poster is responding to.). I did NOT say this stuff…May I ask a question? You describe here hiding your atheism from your parents. (I, meaning: Distracted)…
This is not a brain-washing… It is your realistic sense that there is punishment for sin, for going against other humans and/or God (to go against or sin against humans IS, of course, going agianst God)… Your conscience (and virtually eveyrone else’s) tells you that there is a moral law at work in the world… and that going against it brings consequences…not fulling rejecting religion because I still had that brainwashed fear of a hell)
the two are not mutually exclusive…Then the more I got into science I realized that Atheism really is the most realistic, rational and most reasonable of all ideas instead of religion.
What about those higher life forms that you most resemble, namely humanoids?I now happily instead of religion worry about politics, the universe and thigns like quantum mechanics, and trying to work towards a goal of saving wildlife because of the worlds degrading biodiversity of animals, plants, fungi ect…
I’m not offended, I’m amused. You’ve proved the old adage, “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything!”The story of the “son/sun” dying on the “cross” (part of a constellation) is . . . . .
You guys DID take the bait too
Did anybody read his profile? He’s 15 years old, for crying out loud! I say to you and him, get some time and experience under your belt, go to a war or two, raise ten children, save some lives, be married to the same woman for 32 years, be converted, THEN tell us all about where Christianity’s flaws lie and share your vast wisdom with us. A fifteen year old knows NOTHING. I tell my kids, “hurry up and leave home and get a good job while you still know EVERYTHING!”
