“It’s clear from its movements over the past seven decades that the Doomsday Clock is more about politics than any sort of scientific measure of the risk of global nuclear war. After all, it has routinely counted down after a Republican wins the White House, and ticked up when Democrats reclaim the presidency.”
The report is about the “doomsday clock.” Do you question the reporting, or are you amused by thermo-nuclear holocaust? The Independent is a joke of a newspaper.
While “selective nuclear deployment’ is not “Terminator Judgement Day,” it is not a good thing even in isolation, but real problem with it is that one thing leads to another.Perhaps selective nuclear deployment. However, anything approaching Terminator Judgement Day would be most unprofitable and bad for business.
You’re unclear on the concept.:hugs:Er, if it’s 2 seconds to midnight, the obvious question is how fast is the clock running? Has any one checked it’s accuracy? Maybe it’s speed is temperature dependant. Has anyone replaced the batteries recently?
(raises hand) I was just going to post the same thing.anybody else start singing this song in their head?
The original creators were scientists at Los Alamos, I commend them for their creation. But they are long gone and their replacements don’t know how it works, can’t change the battery.the obvious question is how fast is the clock running? Has any one checked it’s accuracy? Maybe it’s speed is temperature dependant. Has anyone replaced the batteries recently?
Whew! That’s like forever. I can hold my breath for 2 minutes but these funny critters start appearing and dancing around.
