yes you choose. but only God can make your wish come true, sadly. so God know how the coin lands before you do because he causes it to land as you wish it to. your rules do not say you can make your choice come true, only that you choose heads or tails.

No violation of free will going on there.

Bruce is free to think that he is holding up five fingers.
 
i have another take on it
God = Reality
once you find out what will happen it will happen,
you have reliquished your free will

like in the past, once it’s done there is no more free will to change it
 
I think it is possible for God to rewind time and replay it over and over in many/any different way He wants.

An omnipotent Being is the very type of Being who can afford to allow the unexpected to happen. God may, at His own prerogative pleasure, desire the experience of anticipation.

Well that wasnt in your rules the first time. All you said was that I had to call the result. (Which I did.)
Now, I have to tell you.

Suppose I have told you. Now only you and I know what I chose OK?
Dont tell anyone else what I chose. (Keep it a secret from the rest of the thread.)
So now you make the toss.

Sorry, I just kinda assumed it. You see where I come from if you are calling a coin flip you have to announce you call to the other player, you can’t just decide your selection in your head and announce it after you’ve seen the result.

It was the opposite of what you predicted. At the moment I cannot tell you which that is without telling everyone on the thread the choice you made by elimination (which you have admonished me not to do).

All CandideWest has shown is that you can simply claim the coin landed the opposite of what I claimed.

No, read it again. I get to choose the result. And since the result is what God has been asked to predict, …

and the result I choose is contingent upon and inverse to Gods prediction…

It is logically impossible for him to provide a correct answer.

If you are still struggling with this one I’ll try something slightly different.

Please give me the correct answer to the following question.

What answer will never be given for this question?

Again you cannot answer the question correctly because any answer you give must (by definition) be the wrong answer. And yet there are an infinite number of correct answers to the question.

Nothing. Theres nothing attempted and nothing achieved.

I dont think there is anything to be made of the flipping experiment in which one person is compelled to claim the coin landed OPPOSITE to what the first person claimed.
It’s pointless automatic gainsaying.

Not quite, it allows me to CHOOSE that the coin landed on the opposite to what you claimed. I stated that from the outset. Indeed it’s even in the rules of the game.

The whole point of the coin flipping game is to demonstrate how in a sufficiently rigged game even omniscience even omniscience doesn’t give the player the ability to win.

Or to tie it back to Tyrions original post, that a sufficiently rigged question cannot be answers correctly, even if the agent being asked is omniscient.

You cannot say OTHER than the opposite of what I say. The rules are that CandideWest must say the opposite of what I do about the coin.

We know that answer is incorrect because you just gave it. A correct answer is one which is never given.
