Again you misunderstand. The whole point of what I’m saying is that I have no power at all to affect any change, either for or against. All I can do is watch, and maybe comment. But even if I spent my entire life talking non-stop, I would reach less than 1% of 1% of the voters, so my total influence would be negligible to the point of non-existence.

You know how people cheer their football team, even though they have absolutely no personal connection whatsoever to anyone involved with the NFL? It’s like that. I cheer my team. And I happen to think my team is winning.

I’m not misunderstanding anything 😉 I’m simply making fun of your grandiose way of perceiving things. It’s funny, on a purely objective level.

Oh! The word I’m looking for is “histrionic”. Yes, it’s rather histrionic.

Conversely, it is the height of hypocrisy to pretend to be outraged at alleged sexual assault, yet support abortion.

“Child molester”… come on.

Exactly why Trump is necessary. The short-term gain is winning in the broken system.

[…]

Trump is the bomb that blows up the game, the stadium, and everyone in it.
Yes and this is how Populist Authoritarians gain power, regardless of political persuasion. One figure can stand out and change the system. Your Putins, your Stalins, your banana republics, and to a much worse degree your Hitlers; this is what happens South America or Africa. The US is better than that.

It’s time to admit that sexually assaulting a fourteen year old girl is child molestation. That’s clearly what many Republican voters in Alabama felt, so we can abandon the whole “well, she’s had her first period, so it’s okay” line of offensive and vile nonsense.

Yes, that’s the side you’ve taken. Unity and status quo.

See this guy gets it. Only his problem is that he’s looking at it from only one perspective. Sure, bad men can also provide radical change, but radical change in and of itself is not bad. Anyway, this election is evidence, to me at least, that we’re not “better than that” at all.

But it’s not…
“well, she’s had her first period, so it’s okay”
Stealing cars ain’t okay either, but that don’t make it child molestation.

You know, sexually assaulting a teenage girl may not qualify for the strict legal definition of child molestation but, personally, I’m comfortable lumping them together.

Most people are okay with lumping them together, but they are different. Anyway, one is bad enough that you don’t really need to make it any worse than it already is. Sexual assault of a minor is already horrible. Does it really need hyperbole added onto it?

I’m going to stand by what i said. A fourteen year old is still a child, and Roy Moore sexually assaulted a child.

What do you hope to gain by splitting hairs over just how bad Roy Moore is?

Ah, so you’re one of those people.
Yes, I’m one of those terrible people who understands the definition of pedophilia. How awful we are… having read the dictionary!
I’m going to stand by what i said. A fourteen year old is still a child, and Roy Moore sexually assaulted a child.
Well, I would agree that a 14-year old is still young enough that any sexual contact with them at all probably qualifies as abusive. But the medical, legal, and psychological communities all agree that there is a very large difference between sexual contact with teenagers and sexual contact with prepubescents.

You have no evidence at all he sexually abused a 14-year old.
What do you hope to gain by splitting hairs over just how bad Roy Moore is?
I never said anything about how good or bad Roy Moore is. I don’t think he did sexually assault the 14-year old. I think he probably dated some 16-year olds, but that doesn’t really need much defending as long as he didn’t sleep with them out of wedlock. I’m just saying, as a rule of thumb, that one should be careful when saying things like “child molester” unless one is going to qualify that by “child” they mean “nearly-adult”

Just give it up already. Moore lost in large part because of the accusations. As another poster asked, what is it you hope to gain here? This constant hair splitting serves no useful purpose, nor does continuing to call those women liars. Moore lost. It’s over. You can take the blanks out of your pistol.

Well, see, unlike you, I don’t see sexual assault as a political tool to be wielded against my enemies be it true or false. I know you think sexual assault is a political “gift that keeps on giving” but I actually take these types of things rather seriously. So if one says: “This guy is a child molester” I tend to say: “Wow, that’s a pretty strong claim, let’s see the evidence.” and if their answer is “He already lost the election, there’s no point defending him.” I am going to assume what they really mean is: “The allegation served it’s purpose as far as I’m concerned.”

I didn’t say the women were lying. I said there was no evidence.

Not planned. Just happening. And to be fair, I did say “either way it turned out” not “Moore losing”.

If you think the country is moving toward unity than you’re blind. And if disunity is the team I root for, then I’m gonna be happy when we move toward entrenchment. Not because I’m the master-mind who put it all together. Just because my team is winning lol.

Personally I think both candidates were creeps. There is one positive outcome in this result. We are one step closer to gridlock. Government is best that does the least, and having one less republican will help Congress get less damaging things done.

Has their been a trial? Was he convicted and sentenced?

Personally I wouldn’t have voted for Moore or Jones.
