It God who said it a profoundly heinous sin and it remain so. child molestation is obviously on a different level of double sin, lust + hurting an innocent. there is no innocent in gay affair but lust remain which is very grave because not just unmarried but on top unnatural patners.
The Catholic Church considers fornication unnatural too as nonmonogamy leads to children not know who their parents are and parents not knowing who there children are which is an unnatural state.
I agree we don’t need to be harsh with those who experience the temptation. Not just fornication, adultery or homosexuality but INCLUDING those who experience temptation of pedophilia too. they are not outcasts. they can fight against their sins too.
I said child molestation, not paedophilia, there is a difference as one is an action, one is an attraction. Also homosexuality is not an action thus it does not belong grouped with fornication or adultery.
but we don’t have to lie. the relatio said the orientation was almost something good but that is false. then those pushing it are trying to say when it monogamous its somehow not so bad. all is trying to reclassify the sin from what God says. and we all have bad sins we do or have done including secret ones like hatred and envy which saints say are worse than lust but we don’t need church to reclassify them.

idont see why put effort to say something is not “so bad” when God says it so bad, instead of teaching on the fruit of perseverance, talking about compassion to those struggling and even putting up examples of martyrs for them and having special ministries for them. I don’t even see them talking to chaste holy catholics who are gay in that synod to talk about the real struggles of being holy and gay in the world. just sneaking in strange language into the relation which is not acceptable to the bishops. instead we are so concerned about not saying that it is a big evil when it not us who say so but God.🤷 it not our fault…

we must accept that we have a DIFFERENT value system clashing with the world. we cannot force them together… the church like Israel is a people set apart. according to the world, gay and fornication is ok and good and pedophilia is unforgivable. but in our values, all are sinners and all need repentance and all CAN change with grace and be holy. pedophilias are not out of God’s reach but we are afraid of being the outcasts so we are busy trying to seem nice and “reasonable” to them the world .
Homosexuality is not a sin and has never been called such by the Church, homosexual acts are sins and have always been called such by the Church, there is a difference between the two.

All Acts which are always wrong to choose, regardless of Intentions and Circumstances, are described as “intrinsically evil”.

The main point of claiming that an act is intrinsically disordered is simply to highlight that “it is always wrong to choose”.
This presents a real problem because any sinful act is always wrong to choose. The same can be said for acts that are not considered “intrinsically disordered”, all sin is a moral disorder. I can understand that an “intrinsically disordered act” would be recognized as a “mortal sin” under any circumstance, and one that isn,t intrinsically disordered can be recognized as something less, such as a venial sin, but all are sins nevertheless, a moral disorder and definitely wrong to choose in any case. Intrinsic t o me has to do with the nature of the sin, with something being an essential part of the sin, maybe a total absence of good as the essential part, So saying that it is always wrong to choose makes it “intrinsically disordered” is true, but it bring with it a “confusing situation”

The discussion is about Acts, which are the things humans choose. I can choose an act which is not itself sinful, but my motivation for choosing it may be bad. The nett result is immoral.

The Gravity of a sin is a different concept.

Why not read the Catechism on the subject?

Today the news reads the Synold Document was voted down. I was glad. I have never seen anything like this going on in the Catholic Church before. I am a cradle practicing Catholic and was appalled with these ideas. It gives the wrong message to the younger generation and confuses things greatly. I agree with Cardinal Burke. In Acts in the bible
St Paul never sugar coated anything he wrote letters to the people and would warn them
they better be living out their lives according to Jesus’s teachings or else their souls would
be lost. Jesus was merciful and accepted everyone but He said go and sin NO MORE. One of the comments I read at the end of one review was that the bishop from Munich said
one step was taken back but that 2 would be going forward in the future and there is no re-
turning. That was a disturbing remark. I know Pope Francis means well but I fear his ideas
if acted upon are going to create a great divide in the church it will do more harm than good. The homosexual group are a minority contrary to what the media makes them out to be in numbers. Right now the church does not reject anyone. There has been homosexual relationships, ponography and all kinds of problems from the begining of time i.e. the Greeks and the Romans; but never has the church even with previous unholy popes has doctrince or teachings changed in 2k yrs. I thought Obama was bad and VP
Biden when they openly encouraged and condoned gay marriage in the US and then it went like wild fire states legalizing it even when the people voted against it and now this.
I’m deeply disappointed and I think that faithful need to voice their opinion to the Vatican
our voice needs to count and be heard not just the select few. We need to pray constantly that the Holy Spirit guides and enlightens Pope Francis to lead the church in the right direction. Yes we need to evangelize and invite more people to go to mass and go to adoration so that they can experience the wonderful true presence of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, but we need to speak the truth without worring about sweet language. Our Blessed Mother showd the children the fires of hell at Fatima and this was
to make people listen and not practice cafateria style religion.

Deeply concerned
O Mary Concieved Without Sin Pray For Us Who Have Recourse To Thee.

Did God make a mistake by destroying Sodom and Gomorrah ?They also had many gifts and the land was so fruitful .Still our Lord destroyed it along with the people .Will this decision lead to another session of seeking forgiveness by the pope like St.John Paul did in the past for the wrongdoings of Church ?

All I can say is thank goodness for gradualism! What on earth was he doing? Talk about bad PR!

The land was ultimately squandered by the inhabitants so it was reduced to nothingness along with her inhabitants and then used as a warning by a prophet to Jerusalem because Jerusalem was worse according to a said prophet.

Actually the report did not mention “sin” at all. It is like sin does not worth mentioning any more. And that is really bad.
PTL, the Synod means bishops writing an advisory report or document for the Pope.
Do you think bishops and the Pope need to remind each other what is a sin and what is not?

PTL, bear in mind the synod works on an advisory report for the Pope.
Would you say it is necessary that bishops remind each other and the Pope what is a sin and what is not?
