Hi, Monica! To clarify, I have a modesty standard but I don’t use it in evangelization. When I talk to non Catholics about the faith, I just talk about the basic Church teachings.
I guess… I have been very wrong in the past about things (I wasn’t always a Catholic and was into some incorrect things before) - sometimes I have a fear about being wrong…
…that’s the game of life… if you are familiar with the Gospels you will remember that Jesus never questioned anyone’s past beyond the error… then He simply stated ‘go and sin no more.’
Don’t worry about being wrong… correction is just a step away; I admire your determination to seek God and to embrace modesty as your standard (that’s why I kept following this thread); in the Old Covenant there was the institution of the tithing… the New Covenant did not prescribe tithing… what Christians are compelled to do is to Give to God with joy and from the heart. Whether you remain as part of the Laity or join the Religious Life a chaste life is as fine aromatic fragrance that rises up to God… stick with your convictions… Abel did till the end… and his efforts were forever Present to God!
Maran atha!
