Did anyone see the interview with Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar on Wednesday? What did you think about what they had to say?
Two of the victims speak out tonight.
Two of the victims speak out tonight.
Two of the girls will be interviwed tonight on Fox. 8:00 Central.I have seen snippets on the internet and heard a few things on the radio.
I am glad they gave the interview and aren’t hiding from the media.
I feel sorry for the daughters who were victimized because it seems they have been revictimized.
I think it was Harpo Studios that notified the authorities when they got a tip before the Duggars were to appear on Oprah. Their appearance was then cancelled.
I can’t comment too much on the interview itself because I didn’t watch the whole interview.
I admire them and what they did for their son and other siblings was the right thing to do. It worked. It’s those who are judging the whole thing that are way off base. Many times the ‘counseling’ done by professionals never works. There’s did. As a society we seem to condone all kinds of wrong doings, such as abortion, divorce and remarriage, pornography, sex with anyone, anytime, any way, homosexuality. Done by ADULTS. Yet we can’t seem to forgive a young boy who made bad mistakes as a youth and was sorry, asked forgiveness and has grown up to be a wonderful husband and father, respectful person and really decent man. We will trash his family expose his sisters to public shame. Not caring who or how we hurt them doing so. I only hope when the day comes and we ask God for forgiveness, He is as merciful to us as He is to the Duggars. I feel bad for Josh, who didn’t get the help he deserved and for his sister’s who were essentially handed over to be victims. My anger is directed towards Jim Bob. Now there’s a man who makes my blood run cold. I’m glad that he has been exposed, and I hope that this incident makes people more wary of such controlling and insular people in the future.I was horrified at what seemed to be Mr. Duggar minimizing the molestation done by his son. It was like it was really just no big deal, no different than stealing a cookie from the cookie jar in my opinion.
Mary.
I think they did what they thought was best. They took him to a couseling center, albeit not a secular one, they took him to the police, they punished him, set up safeguards in their home etc. I just hope he doesnt do it again.I admire them and what they did for their son and other siblings was the right thing to do. She wasnt sobbing about what Josh did, she was sobbing about how the media and tabloids are printing these stories.I only saw about 30 seconds, and I just saw one of the sisters (I think Jessa or Jill) and she was sobbing.
I didn’t want to watch.
He already got counseling. Lots of people disagree with the type of counseling he got since it was handled by a church group or somethibg rather than secular counseling.Pedophiliac incest is a pretty damning condition. Hope the son gets therapy.
Maybe they felt they had no choice but to go to the media. People are talking and making stuff up, and they probably wanted to set the record straight. As a victim of abuse, I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I admire the strength it took to go before the media and discuss such a horrendous situation. On the other, the sensationalism of it all seems wrong to me. We all deal with things differently, I guess.
Go figure. Michelle did mention several times that she believes the media has an agenda against their family and its probably true. People dont like them because of their strict Christian values and the way they do things. I think having 19 kids is wierd, but they fascinate me.News Media firestorm over Baptist family with 15 year old son who inappropriately touched his sisters and a baby sitter.
News Media not upset with Pete Townsend; accused rapist movie directors Roman Polanski and accused child sexual abuser Woody Allen; the late child molester Michael Jackson; or all the rapists and criminals in the ranks of the NFL.
I would trust a Christian counseling , (working with GOD), way over a secular counseling. (They don’t seem to work all that great anyway.) It worked for Josh, now if people will just stop making victims of the Duggars and let them get on with their life, Josh and his family too. That happened many years ago, they have moved on very nicely and live a very Christian life. Which is more than we can say about to many in our society. When ADULTS condone abortion, homosexuality, sex with anyone they want, even when married to someone else, pornography, trash on TV, etc,etc and etc. Who are we to judge a young boy for making bad judgements and repenting and asking forgiveness for them. And making a GOOD life for himself. The law was supposed to protect him from all this media trashing but the law failed this young man and his family. And many are jumping on the band wagon. It is unfair for those who were molested by someone to take it out on Josh. Forgiveness brings a lot of peace. The Duggars have handled this very well. They helped their son while safeguarding the other children. I give them a lot of credit on how they did that. How about we just leave them alone so they can get on with their life in peace. God Bless, MemawHe already got counseling. Lots of people disagree with the type of counseling he got since it was handled by a church group or somethibg rather than secular counseling.
You do know that many secular counselors are accepting of homosexuality, transgenderism etc., right?
OK why do you compare “divorce and remarriage, pornography, sex with anyone, anytime, any way, homosexuality. Done by ADULTS”. to the real crime of child molestation? Are this things as bad as hurting a child in that way? (I left Abortion out)I admire them and what they did for their son and other siblings was the right thing to do. It worked. Yes, it’s their hypocrisy and looking down the nose at others that have got them in the boat they are in. “Woe to you hypocrites.”OK why do you compare “divorce and remarriage, pornography, sex with anyone, anytime, any way, homosexuality. Done by ADULTS”. to the real crime of child molestation? Are this things as bad as hurting a child in that way? (I left Abortion out)
This country doesn’t really care about protecting children look at Woody Allen and Micheal Jackson. The problem is this family looked it’s nose down at everybody. They said we are better then you and God loves us more because we waited till marriage are straight and christian. They would look at me as a infidel who would go to hell yet I have never hurt a child like that so how could they say I wouldn’t get in to heaven? People are just happy to take hypocrites down.
All though the outing of his sisters is despicable you guys are acting like it is worse then the abuse of children.
Luke 8:17 - For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither [any thing] hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
Ecclesiastes 12:14 - For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil.
Luke 12:3 - Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
Now some people interpret these as merely stating that nothing is secret from God, but last I checked God was not hanging out on housetops proclaiming anything.Mark 4:22 - For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
