Early Man and Adam and Eve

As a Catholic, I rely on the Church to get the rest of the story. Science has its place but Divine Revelation also contains factual information. Pope Pius XII gave clear instructions about studying evolution, both for and against, and ended with these words: “… necessary seriousness, moderation and measure, and provided that all are prepared to submit to the judgment of the Church, to whom Christ has given the mission of interpreting authentically the Sacred Scriptures and of defending the dogmas of faith.[11]”
 
This is also my opinion. I don’t know about you, but I’ve come to believe in the special creation of Adam and Eve, that they were the only two people God created directly, and that all humans descend directly from them.

I don’t believe Adam was a monkey. I find the idea that he was a form of sub-human absurd.
 
Well, the current idea is that before ‘modern humans,’ there were hominids. Take Neanderthals. Decades ago, they were depicted as primitive cave men and were not human. Today it is known that some of us have their DNA which means we had kids with them, making them fully human. Like the Pygmies of Africa, there are different types of humans alive today.

How do you reconcile your beliefs with science that says there was never a human population of fewer than 10,000, ever, on earth?
 
Science cannot rule out an original pair. In addition, we all are descended from a single man and women. Years ago science thought they were separated by hundreds of thousands of years. More recently they think Adam and Eve were contemporaries but did not know each other.

Science has shown micro-evolution is real.

Adam and Eve were historical.
 
A human population of 10,000? If there were hominids before humans then they eventually evolved to become modern humans. How is not explained.

Source? As far as I know, they still believe that there’s never been a human population bottleneck of fewer than 10,000, though one article I read said 40 breeding pairs, which is still not two.
 
Has anybody heard of the Kolbe Center? This organisation converted me to creationism.

Yes but I know nothing about them, other than the small part of the “Missing link missing no longer ” video I watched where both speakers appeared to be wearing wigs and disguising their voices.
