Sorry Kathy–I didn’t mean my last message for you, I just didn’t want to use “quote” because that would have been to to many other people so I did it generalized. Every Catholic is confused in my opinion. They don’t know who to turn too. God? Mary? St. Peter? St. Christopher? They have so many “options” for certain things its rather confusing! No?

Actually, no. For starters, no where does it say that you can’t turn to God. If you need direction, guidance, clarification after praying yourself, would you not turn to your pastor? Yet if a Catholic goes to a priest they get chastised?? As for Mary and the Saints…that’s called intercessory prayer. Just like we all pray for one another on here.

Salvation is simple yet Catholics make it so hard. The Bible says all you have to do is plant the seed of truth. Jesus doesn’t want any of his children in bondage. He came to set his people free. Praise the Lord for that!!!

Who’s making it hard?? I’ve already asked God for forgiveness of my sins. Is that not saved? Am I not forgiven?? My God and Saviour in Heaven tell me that I am.

My prayer for you is that the scales will fall off of your eyes and the REAL truth will be shown to you. Its up to you and every other catholic out there what they do with the real truth, if you squash the spirit of God or not.
I would be more than joyful for you if the Jesus you came to know and trust was the Jesus from the Bible. The catholic Jesus is totally different than the REAL JESUS! Jesus paid it all!

The scales DID fall off my eyes and I’ve now a taste of the REAL truth. No one is squashing the spirit of God! The Catholic Jesus??? Are you kidding me??? The Jesus that I AM coming to know is the real Jesus. The one that gave his life on the Cross at Golgotha for ALL of our sins. You would be joyful only if I denounce going to a Catholic church and not joyful that another sinner has found Christ?? Funny how Catholics embrace people from other religions and denominations more often than the other way around. I will keep you in my prayers, that God will take the bitterness from your heart.

It is because you don’t understand these things. If you would learn about each and every thing you are talking about, you will see that we are not in confusion at all. We are using everything at our disposal to bring us closer to God. Catholocism is not bondage. Christ gave us the rules to live by, not the Catholic Church. There is not much wiggle room. The path is narrow. The changes that man has made to over 1500 years of Church teachings BEFORE leaving to found their own, have been to make “living within the rules” easier. You can follow those given authority by Christ to shephard and lead His flock, or you can follow man who will lead you away from Christ’s Deposit of Faith by teaching his own ideology.

Congratulations and welcome to the church that Jesus Christ founded. I wish you all the best in your journey. I was raised Catholic but was away from the church for 18 Years before returning two years ago. I went to Mass for the first time in years after Easter. I felt God calling me home like the Prodigal Son. I became so emotional during that mass that I broke down in tears of joy. I have gone weekly ever since.

Anyway, my point is that I understand how you have been called to the church. I spent many years wandering and am glad to be home.

Born Again, I know you addressed your post to Kathy, but I felt the need to thank you. No, I haven’t been “converted” to your point of view about Catholics or Catholicism. I don’t believe Catholics are confused about salvation or about who it is who offers salvation. I will die a faithful Catholic through the grace of God. Still, I think you are sincere in your prayer for me and my fellow Catholics to know Jesus. I believe your love for the Lord compels you to call out to others to seek him as well, and this, I believe, is a grace from God. So, I thank you for your prayer and I ask that you will continue to pray that I draw closer and closer to our Lord. I will also pray that the Lord is always with you.

I had a whole post lined up with what** I **felt I should say. Apparently, God wanted differently. Instead I feel compelled to say this instead…

The same Jesus that you know, I know. I found salvation in Christ before I was led to the Church. People get all up in arms about what Church/denomination they belong to. There are converts that go from Catholic → Protestant and vice versa. I’m still Christian, just as you are. I’m not a Catholic, yet. But should it matter if I’ve come back to Christ? I only took offense to your posts because you were implying the Jesus that I would come to know and trust wouldn’t be the real Jesus b/c of my going to a Catholic church. I know what salvation requires. That was taken care of before coming to the Church.
Maybe re-read you post where you say you didn’t mean the last message for me. If you had just come back to Christ, how would you feel??

I’m holding fast:thumbsup: Because you know, what I’ve learned since posting this is this person only has a few posts, all of which are in this thread. You know as well as I do, I’m not the only “new” person to the faith Funny.

You know, I’ve been that happiest in the last few weeks than I’ve been in a LONG time. My heart is full and I’m learning.
