What proportionate reasons would allow a Catholic to vote for Obama? I have never , either in this election or the last, gotten a clear answer on this. Usually i get responses along the line that the Republicans are evil incarnate out to blow up the world and the paradise on earth Obama will create will eliminate war, poverty and abortion.

I’ll vote 3rd party, Constitution or Libertarian, depending who’s on the ballot.
Code:
Between Obama and Romney, I'd rather see Obama re-elected, because Romney will be like a Trojan Horse. Obama is galvanizing opposition to the government and it needs to be brought to a fever pitch. If Romney get's in we'll see very little change, and only the leftists will be stepping. It's time for the whole rotten system to go.
This is not the year to do that.

Romney promises to repeal Obamacare. He promises to change the tax structure for people and for corporations, and especially for corporations so more jobs will remain here. He promises to defend traditional marriage and life in general.

If he did JUST those things, it would be massively helpful.
👍

Romney in video to the National Right To Life Convention said

‘I will reinstate the Mexico City Policy. I’ll cut off funding for the United Nations Population Fund, which supports China’s abhorrent one child policy. I’ll ensure that abortion advocates like Planned Parenthood get no taxpayer dollars. And I’ll reverse Obama regulations that attack our religious freedom and threaten innocent life. I’ll nominate judges who respect the Constitution, are proponents of judicial restraint, and know the difference between personal opinion and law. If elected president I will work with you to foster respect for innocent human life with an understanding that a culture that fails to do so ultimately becomes a culture in which respect for fellow human beings is diminished. I’m heartened by the advances made by the pro-life movement over the last several years,” Romney concluded. “The ranks of our pro-life partners are growing every day. That progress would not be possible without your passion and your dedication. God bless you for it and God bless the United States of America.’

Exactly. What proportionate reason can be placed against the slaughter of the innocent unborn, the attacks on marriage and families, and the attacks on religious freedoms.

People say there is no real slippery slope, but we are so far down the slope, we can’t not see the top from here.

Mitt Romney is a Tier 4, “Personhood Never” pro-abortion candidate.

Yes, Obama is much worse than Romney, but don’t fool yourself into believing that Romney is a good pro-life choice for the country! Vote for Romney, only because he is the lesser evil compared to Obama, but don’t be surprised in four years if we are still cursed with the scourge of abortion in all its forms.

Republicans have a vested interest in keeping abortion legal. It is a wedge issue that galvanizes the voting base against Democrats. If abortion were outlawed, who would get excited about voting for Republicans? How many Catholics could vote Democrat if there were no chance of legalizing abortion?

I always choose the candidate with the better hair. Hence, I’m voting for Mittens.

Republicans in general tend to be more religious than Democrats, which means they are more likely to have a pro life view, so I think you are underestimating the authenticity of that view. Keeping abortion legal has no benefit except to the abortion businesses. If both parties had a pro life platform I would still support conservative Republicans

That article is not true Romney is not pro abortion. Every time a pro life bill came to Romney as governor he supported life

  1. I would still vote Republican
  2. Too many Catholics vote Democrat now
  3. Romney never signed a single pro-abort law as governor.
  4. I laugh at the argument that Romney may be prochoice as President for 2 reasons
a. He, as every politician, wants to be re-elected. He goes pro-choice, he’s through

b. but the main reason is: we know how terribly pro-abortion Obama is. A vote for a third party is a vote for Obama. Simple as that.

I would welcome you to find a demonstrable error in the Romney pro-life profile article. Also, they would welcome you with a $100 reward. All their claims are backed up with citations to news articles and other reliable sources. Your claims to the contrary are not.
Article you posted is over simplifying certain things like how he put the planned Parenthood individual on a board. That person had a seat on healthcare payment policy advisory board. Purpose of the board was to gather financial information on the state use of medical costs. No policy making was going on through this board and it included representatives from all major medical groups. Including Planned Parenthood on the board was not conceding regarding the morality of abortion, but about conceding the reality of legal abort and state costs

Article is also posting a lot of old quotes when Romney was pro abortion. Ronald Reagan, former abortionist Bernard nathanson, former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson used to be pro abortion. Pro life converts are welcomed in the pro life movement and many pro life groups have endorsed Romney because they trust his record as governor

Article also says RomneyCare is like ObamaTax. There are more differences than things that make them similar

Romney’s pro life record as governor

ditto. Romney will say anything to get elected. And he is not Pro-life.

He is prolife, he was not always prolife.

It amazes me that people refuse to believe people can change their views. Let us put this in a more bright light…the percentages of people who support legal abortion has dropped by huge numbers–originally more than 80% of the population supported legal abortion, today that number has dropped to 49-51% depending on the survey you read. So, are all those millions who now support life liars? That seems to be what you are calling Romney–a liar.

You mean like “evolve” on gay marriage, use executive order to overturn statute regarding immegration, say ACA is not a tax then argue it is in front of the SCOTUS, that kind of say anything to get elected?

How any Catholic could vote for a president who promotes abortion so much and is using tax money for international abortions!?!

How do you sugar coat this and somehow vote for Obama? It’s beyond my reasoning.

I would say 90%+ or maybe even 95%+ of people who go to weekly mass will not vote for obama. But those who don’t go to mass weekly will vote for obama.

Unfortunately there are lots of people who are Catholic in name only, and haven’t seen the inside of a church since their last family wedding or funeral.

I agree… they are trying to justify voting for the pro death obama.
