Well, I should say I ā€œmoved backā€ to MO. 😃

I did send a letter to Gov Quinn, listing my state, real estate, and approx sales tax that I paid over 6 years, and why he would no longer be getting them from me.
Dude then get out of Illinois, it’s going the way of Cauliforniya. Come to Ohio and help swing the Swing-state to the Right. ;)šŸ™‚
Not to mention, I’m sure the gun laws are MUCH better! šŸ‘

If that’s the case, I withdraw my šŸ‘

:o
I said that Obama was unqualified before '08, and his term in office proves him incompetent for post '12. Romney was nearly as much an unknown quantity, but an examination of his record shows that he is not incompetent for '12 in light of his past work as governor.

Though I can’t vote for either, I believe that a Catholic is justified in voting for a Mormon even if his religion is not Christian the way we define Christian.

That’s what I thought you meant.

Rich, We as Catholics are to align our consciences to Church teachings. ~~~ Isn’t this what our whole life is about?
For those who think it so horrible that I had supported Sen. Clinton both in word and pocketbook, they may cheer up, for she did not get the nomination. Unless Romney really screws up and doesn’t get re-elected, Clinton will not be the Democratic candidate in '16.

Did you include that tax on gasoline and cigarettes?

IL probably doesn’t collect as much from these taxes as it thinks it is. Cars with IL license plates are lined up at the pumps in MO. Probably the same in Indiana and Kentucky.:doh2:

How much is gasoline in MO as opposed to IL?

Hilary Clinton will be 69 in 2016, I think that is probably too old to be beginning a presidency. I read she wants to be a grandmother with no pressure

I still worked in MO, so always bought cigarettes (still trying to quit!) and gas in MO.

Not to mention, increased taxes on alcohol, candy, soft drinks and personal hygenie products.

Right now, gas is $3.25 by my current home in MO, $3.49 by my old house.

The biggest kicker is real estate taxes. My taxes were $6800 a year in IL, while they’re $2800 for a bigger and nicer home in MO. I had the same real estate taxes as my mother in law, who has a 4,000 square foot $500,000+ home on the 8th hole green in a private golf course in Florida, ***who has no state income taxes!! ***

I don’t doubt that. She has been very loyal to Bill who hardly deserves it, and Chelsea has been well-raised. Good for her to retire while she’s on a roll and well respected for her job as SoS.

It would be awesome if the OP’s poll came true in November.

Romney at 74%–could you just imagine? LOL

It won’t happen unless the GOP gets a fillibuster proof congress and the WH–that is true.
you need 60 solid, absolutely pro-life GOP Senators for that. At best, you’ll get 55-56. While I appreciate the GOP nibbling at the edges (Mexico City Policy and similar measures) the only real recourse is for states to begin nullifying Roe v. Wade and amend their constitutions to be pro-life and tell the federal government that they are going to ignore any federal law or supreme court ruling that countermands their state soveriegnty. That’s the only way I see it happening.

There are many ways–and we must push through all of them…and they are all coming from Republicans, not from Democrats.

The problem with supporting laws that regulate the murder of children is that most of these laws essentially end with a phrase such as ā€œā€¦ and then you can kill the baby.ā€ As the above website points out, it is incompatible with pro-life goals to try and regulate murder of children at the same time that you advocate for personhood. Legislating a boatload of regulations to child killing is not preventing abortion, it just means that if the personhood of the fetus is upheld, then there is still a patchwork of laws that state ā€œā€¦ and then you can kill the baby.ā€ This doesn’t make sense and we should not support laws that permit killing children like this in any shape or form.
