“Elections have consequences”.

I for one am surprised to see the AP cover this:

…For months, federal agencies and the White House have sidetracked dozens of major regulations that cover everything from power plant pollution to workplace safety to a crackdown on Wall Street.
The rules had been largely put on hold during the presidential campaign as the White House sought to quiet Republican charges that President Barack Obama was an overzealous regulator who is killing U.S. jobs.
But since the election, the Obama administration has quietly reopened the regulations pipeline.
In recent weeks, the Environmental Protection Agency has proposed rules to update water quality guidelines for beaches and other recreational waters and deal with runoff from logging roads. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, meanwhile, has proposed long-delayed regulations requiring auto makers to include event data recorders - better known as “black boxes” - in all new cars and light trucks beginning in 2014.
The administration also has initiated several rules to implement its health care overhaul, including a new fee to cushion the cost of covering people with pre-existing conditions.
Some GOP lawmakers fear the worst.
Obama has spent the past year “punting” on a slew of job-killing regulations that will be unleashed in a second term, said Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla. With the election over, it’s now “full speed ahead” for federal rules limiting greenhouse gas emissions, requiring cleaner gasoline and putting controls on drilling for oil and natural gas, said Inhofe, the senior Republican on the Senate Environment Committee…
Let the deluge of job-killing government overregulation begin! At some point, we might be able to stop blaming Boosh. At what point does the (inherited) “worst economy since the Great Depression” become the President’s economy?

I can’t wait to see what type of foriegn policy changes we will see since the President is now “more flexible” after the election.

For your goodness sake , get over politics, is any of it worth you going around the bend over? Time to stop fretting and praying God’s will be done in all things.
Peace, Carlan

What pray, is wrong with having laws for the health and safety of workers? What is wrong with trying to prevent pollution by big business where money often ‘talks’ and is the only ‘raison d’etre’? What is wrong with trying to prevent global warming?
From the European side of the pond, I too shall be very interested to see what type of foreign policy changes we shall see…what ones are you expecting?

I agree. Just because something is a job doesn’t make it sacred. If it is hurting the environment, consumers, workers, etc then regulations do need to be put in place to curb that. If it “kills” jobs so be it, they were harmful. It’s time for the US to stop looking at the economy in terms of jobs and hurting everything else, or protecting people and the environment and losing jobs. We need to innovate. Time to produce jobs that benefit our society, not detract from.

Did you see any laws that particularly did the things you state? I didn’t think so.

I’m not sure where you’re going with this Carlan. I’m guessing you voted for the President, so just sit back and enjoy the bumpy ride.

My cousin has been an over-the-road truck driver for 34 years. He loves it. He loves driving around the country and seeing the country. He is quitting this year because they are putting a monitor in his truck to make sure he drives when they want him to drive and not drive when they don’t want him to drive. He has built up his rythm over the years and says he can’t drive when he’s sleepy or sleep when he’s ready to drive. He explained it as the equivalent of he likes to drive for 8 hours, then rest for 8 hours. But they want him to drive like 4 hours, rest one hour, drive 4 hours.

He is quitting while he still likes it, for he hates the new system. 😦

Amen. Get over it already.

Is that some new government regulation or what?

I’m fine with God’s will - it’s Obama’s that causes me problems.

Sick, sick, sick. But this is what we have come to expect from this fiend. Yes, fiend. He HATES good Americans who believe in God and Constitution. Rob

Get over what already? Higher energy prices? Higher unemployement?

What exactly should I be “getting over”? 🤷
your worldly anxiety. I’ll turn my fears and apprehensions over to GOD not the GOP anytime!

The US seems to be populated mainly by vaguely nice, well meaning, indolent people who aren’t in the least aware that they are ruled by murderers and thieves. In less than ten years this country will be a desolate, poverty striken home to slaves.

It is Big Government, unchecked, which has been the biggest cause of environmental destruction. Witness the Soviet Union, Mexico and China. And PLEASE, stop buying the transparent anthropogenic “global warming” hoax! It is ALL about controlling people, and curbing freedom, and it’s past time that everyone wakes up. Rob

So should we take your word for it then, Rob?

I tend to trust the established scientific community not conspiracy theorists. 🤷
