How is that going to happen with Russia and China supporting Iran, and Europe wanting to be neutral? We have NATO in Afghanistan and there is very little support in the EU to continue there.
Russia, China and Iran are totalitarian societies, so its natural for birds of the same feather to fly together. As for EU wanting to be neutral, this is because we never elected a Christ-like government whose foreign policy is centered towards protecting Christian interests in the Islamic countries.

Christians must remember to vote for the correct candidate who will not only defend national interests but also global Christian interests.

I find it quite amazing that ONLY the United States of America has a extensive database of human rights abuses by countries of the world maintained by the U.S. State Department.

Why is it there is absolute no such effort by United Kingdom and France, who are also VETO powers in the United Nations to judge other countries affairs? What are Christians in these countries doing? Also, Australia and New Zealand should do their job as deputy sheriff in Asia.

if anyone wants to know the real deal of the middle east and christians, i suggest this excellent site, Al-bushra, ran by a palestinean catholic priest who now lives in the US

al-bushra.org/
james1441, do you know that the al-bushra.org web site you are telling us to read is a pro-Islamic propaganda web site? The authors of this web sites are not even honest and sometimes very Anti-Semitic. An honest web site would be either MEMRI or Faith Freedom.

This web site do not admit the truth that the so-called “Arab” peoples (Christians and others) living in Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq are actually Assyrians/Chaldeans whose mother tongue was Syriac/Aramaic but they were forcefully Arabised by the Islamic conquerers as an method to propagate Islam. This method of Arabisation is no different from the Nazis who wanted to force the White people of Europe to speak German! Islam in its orthodox form was racism!

So, there is nothing really proud to be an “Arab Christian”, as it is really an Islamic myth. This myth is part of Islamist aim to destroy multi-culturalism and force us all to be slaves to the Arabic culture. Jesus our Lord said somewhere in the Scriptures “In God, there is no Jew and Greek” that means every State/Government must promote multi-culturalism.

Tell us why do the Arab regimes, such as Egypt refuse to allow both the Coptic language and the Kurdish language to be equal national languages side-by-side Arabic language? Why does Egypt racially discriminate towards Kurds and Copts?

I appreciate your feedback concerning the above.

It seems as though the Republicans did do some meaningful things while in office.
Let me pose this question then:
Can you tell us how many soldiers would still be alive with their families today if we had not gone to war with Iraq if the Democrats had been in control?
Saddam made war on an ally of the US: Kuwait. Saddam then violated the terms of the ceasefire which in turn empowered Congress to release the President to take up the reins of war once again.

The Coalition won the war with few casualties.

The Coalition is losing the bid towards peace enforcement. It is the failing peace enforcement which sees mounting casualties.

And as for the Democrats being in control: how was it alright that so many terrorist attacks against American personnel and property were swept under the carpet by the Clinton administration? How many lives were lost because Clinton chose to ignore folks like Saddam and OBL?

In my previous (overly long) post, I suggested that a truck bomb could be packed with 30 or 40 tons of explosives.

But what if … the terrorists acquired a cargo ship … and increased the weight of explosives from 30 or 40 tons to 30 or 40 THOUSAND tons… Now you would have a nuclear sized explosion… without using a nuke.

You could take out a city that way.
The terrorists have freely tested various methods of destroying civilian populations.

The logistics of packing an 18-wheeler truck with explosives or of packing a cargo ship with explosives are almost prohibitive. But that alone would not stop the terrorists from trying. As Al has said – it’s been done. And their funding along with help from Russia is staggering. OBL alone earns c. $3B per year in income mainly from child prostitution, “informal banking,” and trafficking in child prostitution and illegal weapons.

A far more efficient and inexpensive method of destroying civilian populations, however, is for a suicide bomber to walk into a city core a backpack loaded with a mini-nuke. Mini-nukes small enough to fit into backpacks already exist.

As Al pointed out, suicide bombers are predominantly affluent and educated. There is a nest of terrorist ops at McMaster University in Canada where nuclear material has gone missing from its reactor and el-Shukrijumah has spend significant time. (el-Shukrijumah is the gentleman – still at large – who masterminded the ‘American Hiroshima’ which is essentially a large-scale nuclear attack on several American cities.)

So, then you might ask how much damage a mini-nuke can do.

Enough in and of itself. But when joined with several other mini-nukes a devasting, city-levelling firestorm will result, before which Hiroshima and Nagasaki would pale. It is an error to think that one must have large quantities of nuclear material to build a bomb.

The London bombings were a dry-run of the nuclear firestorm scenario.

Now ponder the 100 Al Queda cells which are thriving within the borders of the US, the numerous terror camps in the US and Canada, our porous borders, and the reluctance of many to admit that we are at war not by our own making but because folks exist who wish to destroy us and steal what is ours.

Who will stop those who dream of carrying nuclear backpacks to their glorious destiny?

It’s rather a shame April Glaspie wasn’t aware of that.
Saddam then violated the terms of the ceasefire
Yes…
which in turn empowered Congress to release the President to take up the reins of war once again.
Err, no. The ceasefire was with the UN. Only the UN had the right to declare the ceasefire void and the war restarted, and it certainly didn’t.

Mike

Why do you think people hate the United States so much?
Basically because of the divergence of arabic and european technologies mainly due to the european dominance in shipping and trade and the ensuing decline in arab trade and technology.

Also take a look at the growth of Salafism and Wahabism.

Also Dr Tawfik Hamid has written an explanatory book called the Roots of Jihad. And the following article by Bernard Lewis gives some insight.

Another insight is in the alliance of the Left with Salafism; the difference between religion and religious ideology.

Which begs the question of Kuwait being an ally of the US.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAH oh you are funny my friend!!

so your saying a website ran by a catholic priest who has a diocese now in california, and who’s many articles on his site are also contributed by other catholics, is “islamic propaganda” while those 2 websites which you linked, which are ran by NGO’s, are “truth”? does anybody else here remember reading “1984”?

the “suitcase nuke” is just a myth. it’s been talked about so much that people take it for fact. it’s like that saying goes: “tell a lie enough times and people will believe it”. you can read the history of how this myth got started here:

An honest web site would be either MEMRI
:rotfl: I know you’re entitled to your opinion, but I just find your characterization of MEMRI (an Israeli propaganda site run by a retired colonel in the IDF) amusing.

Are you saying the inhabitants of Palestine at the time of the Zionist influx had no legitimate claim to the land?

The Arab regimes aren’t the only ones who discriminate. Israel does as well.

A nuke can be the size of a bowling ball. It could fit into a bowling ball bag. (That’s the implosion-device.)

The “gun-type” device will fit into an 8-inch diameter artillery shell.

Here is a list of U.S. nukes:

72.14.209.104/search?q=cache:gLn2YTH9u78J:nuclearweaponarchive.org/Usa/Weapons/Allbombs.html+picatinny+nuclear&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=

The W-42 is 80 pounds. The W-54 was used for very small missiles and for a recoilless rifle, the “Davy Crockett” (M-288). The small units can weigh 50 pounds.

Rocket science is more difficult than nuclear science. The only difficulty is that radiation is invisible so you need instruments and accurate measurements to “see” it. The math of dealing with radiation is different than dealing with rockets. But it’s not all that difficult. Just different.

I’m responding to my own post because I got timed out earlier.

Folks who are interested in learning how easy it is to build a nuke (and therefore how easy it would be for Iran to build one) and therefore, getting back to the topic of this thread … what do the Democrats in the Congressional majority need to know …

… should buy two books for their home reference shelves.
  1. “Spying on the Bomb” by Jeffrey Richelson. And read the section on the South African nuke program.
  2. “The Bomb in the Basement” about the Israeli nuke program which was kept under wraps for ten years.
As I said, building a nuke ain’t rocket science. It’s not all that mysterious. And dealing with “rogue nations” will take more than wishful thinking.

james:
the “suitcase nuke” is just a myth.
Your article argues against the feasability of suitcase nukes by saying:
40.png
james:
The half-life of the most likely materials in the infinitesimal weights necessary to fit in a suitcase is a few months. So as a matter of physics and engineering, the nuclear suitcase is an impractical weapon. It would have to be rebuilt with new radioactive elements every few months.
Nothing is stopping folks from building the mini nuke on Monday and deploying it on Tuesday.

Look again at the London bombing(s). The first bombing was successful. The second bombing was not because the components had deterioriated because too much time had elapsed between building those bombs and attempting to deploy them.
40.png
james:
it’s been talked about so much that people take it for fact.
Non sequitur. It’s a fact because it has been built not because it has been talked about.
40.png
james:
it’s like that saying goes: “tell a lie enough times and people will believe it”.
False analogy. The fact that it has been built proves that it is not a lie. Folks may choose to lie about the nature of the mini nuke but that has no bearing on the existence of the mini nuke. Again from your article:
As for special compact nuclear devices, the Americans were the first to assemble them. They were called Special Atomic Demolition Munitions (SADM). As of 1964, the U.S. Army and Marine Corps had two models of SADM at their disposal–M-129 and M-159. Each SADM measured 87 x 65 x 67 centimeters [34 by 26 by 26 inches]. A container with the backpack weighed 70 kilograms [154 pounds]. There were about 300 SADMs in all. The foreign media reported that all these devices were dismantled and disposed of within the framework of the unilateral disarmament initiatives declared by the first President Bush in late 1991 and early 1992.
Just because the Americans disassembled their mini nukes doesn’t mean that terrorists cannot build their own.

Moreover, the claims around the theft of Soviet mini nukes have no bearing on the ability of terrorists to build their own. And frankly Soviet promises concerning their banned weaponry are not credible.
“Moscow’s assurance that ‘all nuclear weapons are accounted for’ is wishful thinking, since at least four nuclear submarines with nuclear warheads sank and were never recovered by the Soviet Union.” (One was recovered by the U.S. in 1974.) This is true, but beside the point; the subs were carrying nuclear missiles, not nuclear suitcases.
No, it is not beside the point. It is the point. Soviet promises concerning their banned weaponry are not credible. Basically, from beginning to end, the myth theory surrounding mini nukes is illogical.

Here are the bare, simple facts on mini nukes – without rhetorical embellisment.

nationalterroralert.com/suitcasenuke
A suitcase nuke or suitcase bomb is a very compact and portable nuclear weapon and could have the dimensions of 60 x 40 x 20 centimeters or 24 x 16 x 8 inches the size of a cafe table at Starbucks
]. The smallest possible bomb-like object would be a single critical mass of plutonium (or U-233) at maximum density under normal conditions. The Pu-239 weighs 10.5 kg and is 10.1 cm across. It doesn’t take much more than a single critical mass to cause significant explosions ranging from 10-20 tons.

However, I was not talking about suitcase nukes. I was talking about backpack nukes which are even smaller. and have a higher yield.
Another portable weapon is a “backpack” bomb. The Soviet nuclear backpack system was made in the 1960s for use against NATO targets in time of war and consists of three “coffee can-sized
” aluminum canisters in a bag. All three must be connected to make a single unit in order to explode. The detonator is about 6 inches long. It has a 3-to-5 kiloton yield

Note: the device does not weigh 5 kilotons. It has the equivalent explosive power of 5 kilotons of TNT. Kilo means one thousand; so 5000 tons of TNT.

Note also: the description details the causative factors for casualty as blast injury and radioactive poisoning.

As I have said frequently, when multipe backpack nukes are detonated in close configuration, an enormous nuclear firestorm results. It is the firestorm which destroys lives and property.

Secondly, the nuclear detonation affects the local magnetic fields thereby shutting down electromagnetic communications thereby shutting down local infrastructure: hospitals, police, traffic control, sewage, water, electricity and heat, and so on. Therefore those who survive the initial blast will have difficulty escaping the firestorm. Search and rescue will be severely hindered.

The terrorist cells have the means to produce their own mini nukes. They have the money, the knowledge, the will, and unfortunately the hideouts.

Some CA posters might also like to read about the Davy Crockett weapon. This need not be walked into the detonation site but fired into the detonation site. It is small enough to be hidden easily:

brook.edu/FP/projects/nucwcost/davyc.HTM
The Davy Crockett consisted of an XM-388 projectile launched from either a 120-millimeter (XM-28) or 155-millimeter (XM-29) recoilless rifle (the 120 millimeter version is shown above). This weapon had a maximum range of 1.24 miles (120 millimeter) to 2.49 miles (155 millimeter). The XM-388 casing (including the warhead and fin assembly) weighed 76 pounds, was 30 inches long and measured 11 inches in diameter (at its widest point).
http://www.brook.edu/FP/PROJECTS/NUCWCOST/davy2.jpg
The W54 warhead used on the Davy Crockett weighed just 51 pounds and was the smallest and lightest fission bomb (implosion type) ever deployed by the United States, with a variable explosive yield of 0.01 kilotons (equivalent to 10 tons of TNT, or two to four times as powerful as the ammonium nitrate bomb which destroyed the Alfred P. Murrah federal building in Oklahoma City…
