What’s funny to me is that no one “really” liked Romney. He was just the ABO choice. In the end, the party tried to get behind him, but they couldn’t with all the etch a sketching going on. I wonder if he will run again…
Yeah, but a failed economy is all on Obama and his supporters, great, just what I wanted to see my whole life, $6 a gallon gasoline and 10% unemployment. Don’t blame Romney, half of America did this to themselves.

Oh yeah, but some guy who votes for live babies to die like Obama is a charm. Well, this America has a lot of people that aren’t too smart. And we may well end up in the poorhouse owned by China. Yeah, these people are real likeable.

Aren’t there a number of third parties which are pro-life? I am thinking of the Constitution Party or America’s Party
The Constitution Party is adamantly pro-life. They are also the only party to have references to God posted conspicuously in their platform statement. They are also totally in defense of holy matrimony. Yes they have some positions I don’t agree with, but even their tariff-based revenue scheme is starting to make sense to me, as is their insistence on avoiding “foreign entanglements.”

Before Catholics can become an effective and united voting bloc in this country, the Church must demand that those who are heterodox on Catholic moral teachings either shape up or ship out. Then the Catholics who are left can really unite behind a party which best represents divine and natural law. If that party is a third party so what? So much the better! The mind set that America can only ever have two viable political parties is not only myopic, it is imbecilic.

Romney lost in part because of liberal catholics who voted for secularism over their own faith.
I don’t look at people as being inherently bad. I believe and our faith tells us that people are inherently good. The GOP need to recognize that their message isn’t selling. There is nothing catholic about war mongering, spreading fear about war and increasing defense spending to ridiculous levels. There is nothing catholic about believing in creationism or rejecting scientific theories about AGW. There is nothing catholic about trickle down wealth and exporting jobs to China in the name of profit. There is nothing catholic about spreading hate towards government employees, unions, democrats, illegal aliens and liberals.

People rejected Romney not because he was more “conservative” or more “pro-life”, they rejected him because of the failed GOP policies that he keeps promoting. Enough of the politics and party mentality. You are supposed to be catholic first and not Republican or Democrat.

If every catholic voted pro-life, Romney wouldn’t have been elected.

Exactly

More than enough
It was enough to lose, but anybody that says this is the death of the republican party or conservative principals is wrong. Romney did not lose by millions, he lost by a relative small margin of votes

Absolutely, Constitution Party is. I can’t help but think though, if you see how the 3rd parties performed, they did not. Votes that might have gone to Virgil Goode obviously went to Romney, I don’t really think Gary Johnson got that many Romney votes. Libertarian party’s ideas are quite a bit different than the Republican or even Ron Paul type Republican ideals. From what I can tell, 3rd parties polled under 5% around the nation and actually more like 1-3%, so Johnson did not do too well.

But can they ever win? That’s the question. If they don’t win it doesn’t do the pro-life movement much good, does it?

Calmuny is not in keeping with Catholic principals

did you guys listen to Obama’s speech? I am getting really tired of his plagiarism. It’s as if he dissected a dozen speeches from popes and politicians and put them all together, not mentioning one of the original writers. Is he really that naïve to think that Catholics wouldn’t notice?

No, don’t think so…he will be near 70.

I liked him…he is a man of character. He is highly intelligent and a turn-around expert for failing corporations - which we sure could of have used with the economy being what it is.

He also donates a lot to charity. One who knows him very well said of him,“if you are digging a ditch outside your house and he passes by, he will stop and help you dig it, without even knowing you. I actually saw him do this, and he does it especially when cameras are not rolling.”

God bless you.

Romney still got half the vote basically of all Americans to those gloating about a perceived failure. All we will get with Obama is a crummy healthcare program everyone who has money will pay for, fewer doctors, high unemployment and a poor economy. Really thank the Obama supporters for this.

And the HHS mandate. Wait til the stuff hits the fan on that one.

I can’t see how the Republicans can ever win again. The Democrats have too many “sheep” that will vote for them no matter what.

You will not be saying that in 4 years when there is $20 trillion debt

The MSM did not let the people get to know him.
