Messing with voting regulations backfired. Forced to stand in lines in some places as long as 7 hrs for instance in FL, resulted in a poll tax. A tax on their time. Though no one in America should have had to stand in such lines to vote, I give everyone credit who did so to exercise their right. God bless America.

Yep…it backfired on them big time…serves them right, and Husted in Ohio should be investigated.

The Republicans need some better prepared candidates. We lost two reliable pro-life votes in the US senate from Missouri and Indiana for the next six years because their opponents used their own words against them. How can a pro-life politician not have an answer for the automatic question about pregnancy that results from rape or incest?

I would offer them my answer:

Rape and incest are serious crimes, and justice demands severe punishment for those who commit serious crimes. Justice also demands more aid to the victims of serious crimes, and we are not doing enough in that area. But in all of these cases, the child of a rapist is just as innocent and precious as any other child. There is no reason to ever deprive an innocent child of his or her life because of a crime committed by the father.

That’s basic psychology, CMatt, (but apparently some political strategists would rather wing it): try forcefully taking something from a person who previously could not care less about it, and suddenly that thing takes on great value and he’ll sacrifice to keep it!

75% of Latinos voted for the President; in the 90 percentile for blacks. They saw the voter registration cards for what they were - GOP efforts to disenfranchise the poor, the “moochers.”.

Outreach to other than white males would have been the smarter move IMO.

Actually, the government is pretty good in identifying instances where *non-governmental *entities get greedy at the expense of their clients. That’s the reason Medicare/Medicaid tossed out consultation fees - few or none were really consulting; they were actually providing services on a continuing basis.

Actually, the government is pretty good in identifying instances where *non-governmental *entities get greedy at the expense of their clients. That’s the reason Medicare/Medicaid tossed out consultation fees - few or none were really consulting; they were actually providing services on a continuing basis.

Anyone who thinks things were better in the “good old days” of this nation are in essence not so different from someone who would prefer that only landed white men were allowed to vote. They do not lament the loss of a reality, but the loss of white male privilege in a world marked by racism, sexism and discrimination.

You’ve made some really racist remarks in your post. And you’re putting all white men in the “landed” category. Some of the best people in the world have been white men, such as John Paul II, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Moore, etc. Granted, white people can be bad but so can people of color.

I am so ashamed of every fellow Christian who voted for this evil man Obama, who HATES true Christians AND our Constitution. Never have Americans been so gullible, misinformed, juvenile and unconcerned with the preservation of America for future generations.
72% of young Wisconsins, with fewer and fewer REAL job prospects, and mounting cataclysmic debt hanging over their heads, were duped into voting for this fiend who is hastening our demise.
IMO, thanks to Christians who have muddled our moral imperatives by supporting pols who abuse women (Clinton) and pols who preach class warfare and stomp upon their own faith (Obama), we have consigned our own children to a Banana Republic style life of swimming in sewage.
