End Times Speculation XXIII (ver. 2.0)

Why Sept. 23/24? And how come an asteroid or the Antichrist? Those seem like vastly different scenarios.
On November 20, 2016, Jupiter (the King planet) enters into the body (womb) of the constellation Virgo (the virgin). Jupiter, due its retrograde motion, will spend the next 9 ½ months within the womb of Virgo. This length of time corresponds with gestation period of a normal late-term baby.

After 9 ½ months, Jupiter exits out of the womb of Virgo. Upon Jupiter’s exit (birth), on September 23, 2017, we see the constellation Virgo with the sun rise directly behind it (the woman clothed with the sun). At the feet of Virgo, we find the moon. And upon her head we find a crown of twelve stars, formed by the usual nine stars of the constellation Leo with the addition of the planets Mercury, Venus, and Mars.

That is a truly remarkable and, as far as I can determine, unique series of event with a startling degree of concurrence with the vision of Revelation 12.

Wow, I did not know all that!

I wonder what we should make of it if nothing at all happens though, that seems very very unlikely, given how rare the above is and the significance of the timing.

we cant. not even The Son of Man knows the hour. so we cant either.

lets talk after the 28th. when the world is still in one piece

well, we do know for a fact God does like to do things on holidays, and specific years, 7, 17, 70, etc.

But that old verse keeps nagging me…" it will happen at a time no one expects, like a thief in the night".

So if thats true, the general times it does happen in, should not actually look anything like the bible predicts…right? How else would a time period exist when no one is expecting the end to come unless it looked nothing like what the bible says it will? Do you get what Im saying?

in other words, since so many people are thinking its going to happen soon, that alone is probably proof its not

Well, I don’t know if many people are expecting Christ to return soon.

But, when I see the state of the Church, I often think, “it can’t be long.”

Wow, I don’t know what it means, or if it means anything, but that is kind of eerie.

The article I posted in no way insinuates a date of Christ’s Second Coming…it’s just that God has used the constellations for our benefit/warning. The Star of Bethlehem, the red sky our Lady of Fatima warned us would be a sign of the up-coming WWII, the dancing sun of Fatima.

I don’t think so. Doesn’t Anti-christ have to be revealed and the two witnesses have to preach for 3 1/2 years first?

That’s in the book of revelations. There is a part where it says one of the dragons heads are fatally wounded and then it heals. What do you think that means?

I think it is on October 12 that an asteroid is gonna whiz by.

For sep 23, I am praying the Sacred Heart novena dor Padre Pio’s feastday.

We Americans (maybe the Canadians too, I don’t know) like to think in timetables; that such and such will happen on such a day at such a time, etc. The event of Sept. 23/24 is NOT going to mark a precise event. Instead, it will mark the beginning of something, that will slowly over time (how many years?) reveal itself. Only in hindsight will we be able to point back and say, “This was the beginning.”

Personally, I think it will mark the beginning of a Second Pentecost, an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Earth, that will eventually culminate in The Warning, followed by The Sign. This outpouring will grow in power and allow people to make their final decisions on where they will stand: with the Lord, or against Him.

“Confusion, division, and error” within the Catholic Church coming from “shepherds” even at the highest levels indicate that we “may be” in the end times, said U.S. Cardinal Raymond Burke in an address in Kentucky.
I found two things interesting about this article. First that it was printed on lifesitenews. I don’t think that end times speculation is usually the kind of thing they report on. It seems a bit more tangential then their usual reporting. And second Cardinal Burke’s words, shown above. That he would state such things. He does, however, downplay it in the end of the article:
Cardinal Burke urged Catholics to not “worry whether these times are apocalyptic or not, but to remain faithful, generous and courageous in serving Christ in His Mystical Body, the Church.”

I hope my last article was not too tangential. I can remove it if you think it is.

My take is: The Return of Jesus was immanent from the time of The Resurrection to me, this is why St Paul writes about it as in his time, later he corrects it to the time of The Return is unknown. We are to experience many things that will shake us up before the actual Return of Jesus. If we look at history many times indeed have we been absolutely shaken up and events that do shake us up continues today.

We do not know when Jesus will return, only that He will. The end times as they are called are perhaps not so much indicated by wars and natural disasters as a horrific trial that The Church will endure “follow her Lord in His death and resurrection” (see below). The Ultimate Trial of The Church. We do not know how long this trial will last, but we do know that the “messianic hope, which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgement” (see 676 below from the Catholic Catechism).

Before Jesus does return, this is what The Church tells us:
CCC http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p1s2c2a7.htm

The Church’s ultimate trial

675 Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers.574 The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth575 will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth. The supreme religious deception is that of the Antichrist, a pseudo-messianism by which man glorifies himself in place of God and of his Messiah come in the flesh.576

676 The Antichrist’s deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgment. The Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism,577 especially the “intrinsically perverse” political form of a secular messianism.578

677 The Church will enter the glory of the kingdom only through this final Passover, when she will follow her Lord in his death and Resurrection.579 The kingdom will be fulfilled, then, not by a historic triumph of the Church through a progressive ascendancy, but only by God’s victory over the final unleashing of evil, which will cause his Bride to come down from heaven.580 God’s triumph over the revolt of evil will take the form of the Last Judgment

Are we allowed unapproved private Revelation discussion now? Bring on the talk of Medjug…that place

Mmm, strange video.

Also, the woman at the end of the video talked both about confirmation and the Rapture.

Wikipedia (I know, I know) says that it developed through the 19th century. I don’t know of a specific date. But in whatever the case, it is very new.

I’ve been a consistent lurker here in this discussion (used to post a little bit years ago) but I just wanted to say that i appreciate the information shared here on this topic.

So have we lost all the old threads? So much valuable information, especially when it seems things are starting to hit the fan lol

When was the rapture invented? Around 1880?
John Nelson Darby invented the pre-tribulation rapture doctrine around 1830. He was a priest in the Church of Ireland when he broke with them and began establishing the assembly that is now called the Plymouth Brethren.

The idea of “dispensations” or “ages” in Salvation History had been common before Darby came along. He codified the dispensations into the current form Protestant churches teach, and began promoting the idea of a pretribulation rapture.
